Sseth is a trained medical professionals. He can probably operate on someone. Yet here he is, gracing us with his ability to play the Excel Spreadsheet that is Dwarf Fortress and Caves of Qud.

He is researching cure tho,he stopped cause pharma is profit first and refuse sseth research that don't bring more profit(why cure when treatment give more profit)

Ah, yes, Dwarf Fortress... There is nothing quite as magical as noticing one of your dwarves is missing his left alpaca leather shoe, then later noticing that shoe in other dwarv's inventory, around the moment the original owner does, and then watching the original owner steal the shoe and beat the thief to death with it, upon which the shoe gets named and becomes a legendary weapon, because it was its 6th kill, since apparently the thief has been using the shoe as a weapon during the last goblin invasion.
The point of this comment is to point out that all of the unnecessary descriptive detail (such as the wrestler pulling the goblin dancer's jaw and then beating her with it) is not Sseth's imagination, it's all actually stuff that happens in the game because it is actually being simulated to that level of depth, the whole time.
Imagine one day a game could simulate that level of depth in a 3D space with the flawless precision of Dwarf Fortress. This game is truly one of a kind and we may never live to see something rival it in depth of storytelling

@@Broomer52 I feel like the only way that could happen would be if we could get AI generation techniques to create 3D animation the way we can make it create 2D images.

Ini case you were wondering, Dwarf Fortress keep track of every single tooth on every creature that has teeth. It also takes into account which creatures has eyes and eyelids, just to see if they can blink and clean their eyes.
Dwarf fortress from my own experience seems to be more fantasy simulator than game, with how crazily intricate the games systems and mechanics are, even individual eyelids are accounted for.
Especially when you use its lore... something. Analyser that allows you to check and see the entire history of notable folk in the world you created.
Me a noob D&D dm: "Yeah, this is big brain time."
My third fort had an abundance of iron, so I had a squad of steel-clad warriors in short order. My soldiers became very upset quite quickly, so I checked their "thoughts and preferences" only to see "Urist was horrified to have been publicly exposed recently"
Turns out I'd made no greaves for my soldiers and clicked the "replace clothing with armor" box. All of my soldiers had been walking around with their genitals on display for all to see. The resultant tantrum spiral levelled 3/4 of my fort.
Next, I made a "danger room" with many raising spear traps, filled with wooden training spears. What could they hurt, right? "My military is wearing steel"
Well, I'm an equal opportunity employer, and it turns out, mothers take their babies with them everywhere. Turns out, baby Urists don't wear armor, and my (now legendary) axe dwarf just had her kid mashed up by a hundred wooden spikes. Well, she quickly went nuts and finished off my fort in short order... Pay Attention to the mood of your dwarves, that's all I'll say
i discovered dwarf fortress because it was one of the few games that i could run on my macbook pro at the time
there is nothing so delightful as using a dwarven atom smasher to wipe out a goblin invasion force, or sending in your legendary soldiers to blend the same goblin invaders into a fine mist, or to experiment with the dwarven minecart shotgun and make a terrible, but entertaining mistake somewhere that causes a tantrum spiral to happen

Even if it's only once, it does exist. It only means that Sseth isn't a DB nerd. To be fair, I too remember a lot of shit from Vegeta but Super and beyond has caused me to forget such a thing too.
Aah. Junji Ito. I recommended him to a uni roommate once. Next time I saw him, he told me: "Fuck you." I don't think he liked what old Ito did to his noggin.
Thanks to Junji Ito, people have been trying to emulate his style, creating a sub-genre and giving us games and comics like World of Horror or Chainsaw Man.

Honestly dwarf fortress is the best game ever made. I love it and play it regularly. Currently tryna invade hell. Support the today one. It's also one of the few games considered art and admitted to the Louvre believe it or not
It'd be my desert island game due to it's infinite playability.
The wildest thing about DF to me is that the rest of the world is still getting simulated (in way, way, way less detail) as you deal with your fort. I remember reading about a dude who discovered the current queen was a bloodthirsty tyrant, so he built a fortress impressive enough to convince her to move there. What she didn't know is that a giant crusher had been placed over the throne.

Tarn literally encapsulated the madness of life itself in this video game.
I picked up the steam version of DF a couple weeks ago. 50 hours in and the longest a fort has lasted for me was a little over 3 years so far before something goes wrong and I lose the fort. Haven't even scraped the surface of any of the advanced stuff in the game (which is like 90% of the game). It truly is something special.
Seems interesting, though if you want a more recent dwarf video game I'd highly recommend 'Deep Rock Galactic'! If you haven't heard of it you play as dwarf miners in space, digging for valuable minerals and gems, drilling for oil and killing giant bugs. In my head canon it's essentially 40K Squats vs Tyranids and the best co-op game out there.
And he didn't even talk about detailed those 200 years of history are. I've seen families get torn apart by one of their patriarchs getting kidknapped by and converted into a troll, who proceeded to align with a local wizard and declare war on his former kin. You could see how the dwarves that got caught up in it seemingly rejected their dwarfiness, settled down in some elf town and one branch of the family became a renowned line of writers who mostly wrote books on philosophy. Like, you could track down the books they wrote.
I started a fortress nearby and eventually got stuck in a war between dwarfy dwarves, elves n' elf-ish dwarves and a necromancer with a bunch of troll thralls all nursing old familial grudges.

Go read Franken Fran and the other series in the same vein. They get kinda messed up, I am still sorta haunted by a few images, and I've seen enough death and live leaks of blown open heads to be concerning.

I lost a good fort to a local weremamoth child, we had walls, drawbridges, and yet not even a single dog watching the front door.
ayyy im early, yeah the world generation has been in for quite a long time, if you really wanted you can go in the legends viewer and just focus on some random elf who got married then became a necromancer a few hundred years later... with the only other necromancer in the world having raised his wife in his army, governments rise and fall before you even drop into the world
dwarf fortress can be really overwhelming just because it gives you so much choice and thinks you can do, it took me a couple tries over a couple years to get into it even now it can be a bit to handle, im honestly hyped for the new version on steam, it seems they're really trying to make it more approachable
kruggsmash does some great videos if you want to get into it, just watching some of his short forts can give you some basic ideas on how things work and pull you in with stories.

If you ever get the chance, Chill, give World of Horror a try. A random event generator with underlying D&D traits. The combat make's you feel like you're in a horror scene, scampering for improv weapons (if you don't already have one), doing rituals for ghost enemies and other options if the battle calls for it. Just uh...don't leave the game tabbed for too long...your next door neighbor will check up on you when you get back if you do.

If you're looking at Indie games, I highly suggest Hollow Knight.
Seriously man, if you like playing video games are you're ignoring the indie scene, you're seriously missing out on some of the best games released in recent memory!
The gaming industry have been undergoing a drastic shift over the years. The big AAA games that used to be the biggest and the best games out there are simply not that anymore. Those big studios started to prioritize making money over quality, leading to continuous degradation of the quality of those games. You get less and less and have to pay more and more for it. Games like Elden Ring are very few and far between.
So, where are the good games? They all pretty much come from independent developers. Games that cost less than half the price of those big games, yet they completely embarrass them with how good and creative they are. I have almost completely isolated myself from the mainstream gaming companies a few years ago, and have never looked back. There are many great indie games coming out every single month. I have more amazing games in my library than I have time to play. Over those last few years I've played some of the best games I've ever had the pleasure to experience: Hollow Knight, Hades, Slay the Spire, Terraria, Starsector, Factorio, the list is so long I can't even count them anymore! And all of that at a fraction of the cost.
All of those people keep saying that gaming is going downhill, games get worse and worse every single year. And I just don't get it, because from my experience gaming has never been cheaper, and I have never had so many amazing games to play!

You might want to check out boatmurdered. This was a game of DF with a succession of players hading the fortress on from one to the next. They wrote down afteraction reports on the something awful forums and there are readings of this game here on YT. IT was popular and successful enough to get two sequals.

A wonderful reaction as always, Dwarf Fortress is a very interesting game and Seth always does a good job making games sound intriguing and interesting to play. Do you think you could check out Fawful's Minion? Specifically his review of Terraria? He's an incredibly underrated content creator and deserves far more attention then he gets. Honestly its not inaccurate to say he's like a more eloquent and polite version of Seth, so i think you'd really enjoy his content.
