This was straight outta the anime. The villain fills their back row with floodgates, protag draws the monster reborn, and in a deck full of spells the villain cannot activate any of the cards they draw as they die to their own monster. The protagonist calls out “By stopping me from playing the game, you also stopped yourself. It takes two to duel!!”
when he drew monster reborn it was just like Atem destiny draw and I cheered like a kid
when they top-decked Reborn I immediately heard Passionate Duelist in my head, this is 1-to-1 what would happen in the show

I've always felt like Yu-Gi-Oh! is a game, where whoever gets to show the opponent the biggest middle finger, wins the Duel.
The sweet relief I felt when you got hit for game... it was a euphoria I've never experienced. There *is* justice in this game, sometimes.

@@metalmariomegatrue especially with Runic since in pure Runick the answer was to commit nothing to the board to deny them targets for their spells. But the Synchro variant will just FTK you. I was an early innovator of this incorporating ecclesia for a floating tuner/discard fodder but todays variants using the duality package are incredibly efficient at switch gears to agro.

I'm legit playing Pharaonic Advent in the side of Mikanko Snake-eye. All of your combos converge on Herald of the Arc Light which can search Illusion of Chaos for Magicians' Souls. Souls can send Advent, Selene revives it, and then you finish up your snake-eye plays and tribute the fiend-type Promethean Princess to search your floodgate of choice.

@@coleblough4355 I'm not sure what you're referring to. It's a snake-eye deck that uses mikankos as additional extenders/board breakers and to set up herald of the arc light + mikanko rivalry for angelic ring to negate stuff. Power Tool Braver Dragon and Herald for Souls for Diabellstar bridge everything together. The only level 6 in the deck is Ohime and the extra deck is ridiculously tight so there's not really any viable Beatrice line if that's what you're getting at.
Hubris once again is the downfall of MBT.

For added context to the opening: Nova clowned on stun 2 while trying to summon King Calamity in Labyrnth.
This would be perfect for a short YGO OVA; the villain has our protagonist against the ropes, so they start to gloat and show off, getting rid of all their own monsters and announcing that the only thing left for the protagonist to do is wwaiting for a slow, painful deckout. But then the music swells as the last remainig card in the deck is revealed to be monster reborn.

No, you didn't fly too close to the sun.
You drank too deep from the fountain and thought 5 floodgates won when it instead plugged the fountain and prevented it from flowing any more, with the perfect card resting in GY for the opponent to reborn and win from that position.

The funny part isn’t that he lost which was amazing it was he lost because he got so happy about winning he sent two strong monster to the gy to keep a weak one. The opponent could have NS and ran over that monster and he wouldn’t be able to bring it back as his zones were locked.
Well the opponent only had 4 draws left at that point and MBT had Ahrima. Unless they summoned a 2k beater they would deck out before getting to lethal.
Noted. Banish chaos after you are done with him or send him back to EX deck.
