I really enjoy cheap gear....especially if it is capable of feeling like new gear. This device provides some major bang for the buck for basic computing needs.
That's an amazingly resilient device, great hardware specs that still allow it to run W11 without failing on the checks and in such a "snappy" way! Thanks for the tip Bark! Just what I needed. 👌🏼
I have this exact model with the keyboard. The biggest issue I found with the HP Elite x2 1011 G1 Tablet PC is that even when shut down, this device drains the battery. So, if you are travelling and pull it out after a few days of non use, you have to plug it in to use. HP tells me that this is a "feature" of this design. Why do manufacturers call a bad design issue a "feature"? Like they think you would appreciate having the battery drain while the unit is off... The battery in the keyboard appears to be dead so I am going to pull the keyboard apart, check connections, and if necessary, get a new battery for the keyboard. I am hoping this will be a simple carry around device when travelling (despite the battery issue mentioned earlier), especially if you added a SIM. My device will only work with Verizon though and I believe it will work (for a while) on LTE (no 5G).
Thats pretty cool. I was looking for a win tab months ago for me to do some testing on at work. They wound up “loaning” me some crazy spec machine that you could probably run crysis on with no issues (shows my age). Was fun to mess around with but man were they expensive. I should look around for something similar and see if this works. 👍
I have a similar HP X2. The performance is fine for basic uses, I wish HP would launch a new model with updated specs. To me the detachable form factor is much better than the 2in1 designs.
For a 4 GB and dual core hyperthreaded machine? I am positively surprised. I remember trying W11 in the past on some older i3 that had also 2 cores 4 threads IIRC, it required all of that removing of the blockages Microsoft set... and it wasn't working very good for the specs it had. So I am glad they did some optimisation for lower powered machines. Also this processor apparently has max TDP of 6W, most of the configs probably will use the standard 4.5W Intel says on their Ark. No wonders it will last long on battery. Overall cool stuff, if it works for you - that's what matters.

Great info. Yeah that's not much of a feature lol
Love this

Lol that's awesome.... I also remember crysis and still use it as a talking point when talking pc power. We are old brother.

I agree. I love surface tablets. I will say. I am using a Lenovo yoga 6 as my main pc right now and I'm pretty happy

It's all about the machines that can surprise.... Even if just a little
