please please please more vlogs I love this! Just listen to somebody elses thoughts while they are going trough a simulare process is just so refreshing
A few years ago my sister was suffering from mild depression. I began writing a story in segments and posting it for her to read. She fell in love with a character who unfortunately was doomed. I mean this story was supposed to last a few weeks until she felt better. It lasted way past her feeling better, almost 11 months. Any way when I finally killed off this character my sister went nuts. Rang up and yelled at me. Would yell at me at family gatherings. Okay gotta fix this. I am using this month to push on with my story to brings the character back. I am aiming at around 30 t0 40 thousand words over November and 120 thousand total. The thing is my notes for the story currently runs to 300,000 words. That's me. Happy NaNoWriMo everyone
This is bordering on the plot of Misery. If your sister tells you she's your 'Number One fan', you might need to go into hiding. Your ankles will thank you for your caution.
I don't want to be that person but your sister was suffering from mild depression and you thought to write a book with a character that was doomed to die.... like damn 😂 I just find that so hilarious
I haven't written a word! But I have been having long talks with my characters and I've had some really big revelations and worked out some major plot points for my trilogy. I've been working on this for 5 years, and this has finally brought me within reaching distance of me being able to complete the outline for all 3 books. I'm so excited! I've written 70k words in that time of brain dump info and back and forth with ideas about the plot, and it's just started to snap together in the past few weeks. I owe a lot of that to you Abbie and your videos! I've probably watched them all at least twice. THANK YOU! 🫶🤘
This is my first official NaNoWriMo and my goal is to write 50,000 words of a YA novel I've been sitting on for years now. I'm currently about 12k words in. Fingers crossed I get to my goal by the end of the month. Either way, it's been super fun so much. Loved your write with me session, I actually got most of my writing for this week done that day. Can't wait for your next livestream!
Thank you Abbie! I've missed your blogs so much. They never fail to inspire me, get me out of a writing rut, or even just make a busy/stressful day suddenly so peaceful and enjoyable. Thank you so, so, so much. Who else finished this video and then decided they were going to go finish their book? Seriously, I can't thank you enough.
My advice : 1. Create an inspiration playlist. Mine has 70+ songs! They can really give you a boost. 2. Find an accountability partner. It doesn't need to be anyone special; they just need to be there. My own accountability partner is an online AI!
@@Caitlin_WritesBooks Basically, it's someone you ask to tell you each day to do your work and keep pressing on even if it's hard. (and they will be very very disappointed in you if you get lazy and don't meet your quota for the day :( but only because they want to see you do well and succeed.)
I wanted to write 10,000 words and finish my book. I already made the goal! I couldn’t believe how many words I was able to write some days. Word count is new to me. Not the end-all, but I needed to see how much I could write. Now I am editing my book. Yay! My favorite part, for sure.
What a pleasant surprise! I love getting a behind the scenes look into your creativity and upcoming projects. Truly looking forward to reading your next book! I am not participating in Nano... and never have, but I plan to allot more time to writing as I'm working on my debut novel/(potential)series. Good luck this upcoming week with your query and writing!🖋⌨
I am doing the traditional NaNoWriMo challenge, and I am working on a video game-esque fantasy adventure project! As of right now, it is November 11 and I have written ≈28,000 words (so I am about a week ahead of schedule)😂🤣 I am a student, so I don’t have much time to write during the week with school, homework, and study. I tend to “bingewrite” over the weekends. I know many people aren’t doing NaNoWriMo this year because of its recent partnership with AI. I am still doing it because I think that AI can be good if it is used in the right way. AI should be a tool for writing-not a replacement for writing, since writing is a creative thing and needs to come directly from the heart and soul!❤️❤️❤️
your vlogs are so cinematic but also entertaining and inspiring! thank you for everything you do abbie، im so excited to read your next releases! also, little kate and abbie are SO CUTE
I write a lot of short stories (though I have also written a full-length middle grade fantasy). As a young writer, simply building a habit is more important to me than the technical details. My goal is to dedicate an hour a day to writing. I also have a set amount of short stories I'd like to complete.
@@IndianOutlaw1870 yesssss! Although I have written a full book and plan to write several more in coming years (hopefully), I feel like the writing community can sometimes underestimate the importance of short stories. They're seen as 'the mark of amateur writers who can't dedicate themselves to a book yet', which is absolutely not true! The short story community rocks 🎉 keep shining, keep writing, and be you ❤
I doubt she would have time to be there every day? We could play big screen replays and LIVE streams with Abbie on the walls in the lobby. As in a Public Library Mansion. It would be expensive, relaxed, good food, good beverages, therapy, and everything a proper writer would need, or want. Most exquisite design, interior design, green plants in the corners, light and shadows like a Midjourney scene.
Girl you figure skate!!?? My two worlds just collided in this video! I don’t talk about writing in my skating progress videos but since I’ve been following you I’ve written two books in a series. Currently working on ch 3 of a new novel for a new series. I feel like I’m living three separate lives all in the same day-writing, skating, and working. Thank you for being part of my writing journey. I hope you keep skating. The challenge is so rejuvinating. Adult skaters are the best!
Thank you for this beautiful, inspirational and thoroughly enjoyable video! This came out just as I needed it! I love that you accept, affirm and even encourage a non-traditional NaNoWriMo plan! For me, participating in NaNo has been different this year since on October 31st, I finished my second novel!! Obviously, that made me super excited and proud, but since it was so close to the mark, I couldn't really do NaNo. Right now, I'm just looking for my next big project, prepping for edit on my first novel and grieving the loss of one of my dear main characters (second novel! 😭) Thanks for your content and all that you do. Because of you, I have two fully-finished novels, both at about 150k words. You're the reason I started writing and the reason I could continue after first making that choice. Thank you for being amazing, inspiring, encouraging and awesomely YOU!
ABBIE!!!! When I saw u posted this, I literally became so excited and clicked right away bc I love love LOVE your videos and vlogs! You don’t know how much I miss the vlogs, i’m so grateful and over the moon that you’re resuming them. I’ve watched all of your vlogs and they complement and harmonize with your writing advice videos so well! I cannot wait to read that historical mystery novel (also that baby picture of you and Kate was so heartwarming!) For November this yr, I want to write and complete a short story that I’ll be entering into a competition! I’ll come back to my comment at the end of November and update you all ❤
I just finished my first book. Vampire Horror. Book 1 of a series. Now to move onto edit and revise. Work is about to get super busy, so, January I will start book 2. Thank you so much Abbie. I’ve wanted to write a novel for so many years, but it felt like a daunting task. Thank you for waking me through it.
yay! I loved this nano vlog! This was so cozy and fun, and i loved how long it was too and getting to see your progress. I didn't actually partake in any sort of writing challenge this month because of other life events that required my attention. When I do start getting back into the swing of writing I plan to review my outline using a outlining book i picked up that really helped me write an awesome short film script. I think using that same process on my novel will help me perfect the structure and fill in gaps where I'm a little lost. Thanks so much for sharing your nano writing with us Abbie!
This was so fun to watch! I haven’t actually set any goals for nanowrimo in particular, but I’m currently writing a novel for school. I started in September, and my goal has been at least 1,000 words per day. I haven’t reached that goal every single day, but it helps keep me going and motivated. I’m currently at 72,000 words and I’m aiming for 80,000. Almost there!
love this vlog abbie!!! i just love watching writers talk about their writing journey and process, it makes me motivated as well 🥹 can't wait for your next vlog!!!
Squeeee! A vlog! I LOVE your vlogs! This month I'm just trying to make time for myself to prioritize my writing and get back to the joy it used to bring me.
love the vlog! made me feel better about my own prospects as I'm still in the planning mode of writing my first novel (which has now become a trilogy idea!) i wrote up a table with a chapter guide, with the 'what happens' and what does 'protag 1 learn' and what does 'protag 2 learn' in each chapter ect.
I've been cruising through nanowrimo this year, and i attribute some of my success to advice I've received from you over the years. So much so that I've decided to name a mentor character in my book after you, Abbie.
Off-grid NaNoWriMo counts, Abbie! You're still writing, and that's the point of NaNoWriMo!!! Wishing you the best of luck with your off-grid NaNoWriMo!
I'm also working on two books. My debut contemporary romance novel and my historical romance. Thank you so much, Abbie. I've been watching you since I was 13, and I'm now 17..😊❤
I agree wholeheartedly! I'm trying to make NaNoWriMo my own. Working on something for my readers to curl up and read for the holidays - my annual winter tale!
Love your vlogs. I hope that you’re going to be doing more of them this month because I love hearing about your writing progress and seeing a look at your life behind the scenes.
when you said that you need to write fiction for your survival~ I completely understand that and feel it on so many levels. if it's dramatic we can just be dramatic together😂🤍 love this vlog so much! Just seeing your writing process brings me so much inspiration for my own!
I'm mostly pants-ing a blend of Western and High Fantasy. It's about a dad and his three sons, and eventually his own dad, 3 generations of bounty hunters and gun mages (which is a gunslinger that can channel spells into the bullets to go off when they hit, or just alternate between casting spells and shooting). Way behind projected word count so far but not alarmed. I'm watching the Fistful of Dollars trilogy, which is honestly being insanely helpful.
I am currently working on typing and editing my current chapters for my first book in my series. I have also been struggling with motivation to even continue to write more of my story lately. I love watching your videos on your journey as an author because it helps to bring my motivation of writing back so thank you for sharing your journey and experience for people like me who love to write stories.
Yay! Writing vlogs are back, I'm so excited!!! It's just like old times! So far so good with my Nano. I'm attempting the full 50k for the first time. I love the concept of making NOvember your own thing, but I also love when we all do a thing together. Anyway, I loved the video. Thanks for sharing 🤗
I love the term "off grid" NaNoWriMo and am attempting to use the process to review the first draft of a novel I wrote last year. I am translating each page I edit to a word count - just to have something to track. Your videos are so informative and fun to listen to. I've learned a lot from you and can't wait to see you publish your non-fictional storytelling book - all the best!
My goal for November is to actually START the writing process. I've outlined this thing to death, and it's a vicious cycle. Outline the whole book, then start writing the first chapter and then BAM, think up a "brilliant" idea (i.e. red herring, new character, new plot point, etc). And because of that new great, brilliant THING, my brain's like, "Well, Ashley, it's time to re-outline EVERTHING because this new great brilliant THING isn't in your old outline." So, we're back to chapter 1...and it starts again. I AM DETERMINED to stop outlining and go for it. This damn book has been playing in my head for years...oh god, YEARS. It needs to come out. (I did just have a baby girl last year so I'm being a little bit kind to myself for the slow progress.)
Abbie, I LOVE your vlogs!! They are so well done and beautiful; thank you for sharing! I'm always inspired to hear what you're up to and it definitely motivates me! I'm not officially doing NaNo, but I am doing a writing challenge on my own and hooking up with others in your discord for writing sprints. So fun! I want to write about 30,000 words, however, that is probably over-reaching for my schedule this month, but I love your comment about just making a goal to show up and write SOMETHING. Thanks for bringing us along on your journey! 💜
The ice skating vibes 🤩🤩 you *are* main character energyyy! We spent the weekend chopping and stacking firewood, can't wait for those cozy evenings to set in. My favorite way to get movement in is to go for hikes with our dogs on the weekends. Being outside and with them reminds me to play and not take myself or my art too seriously. My November goal is to have exploratory writing time for an hour a day, 5 days a week. Just trying to get back into my own writing practice. Working on an urban fantasy trilogy and I'm having fun taking my time to explore characters, setting, outline. My goal is to officially start draft 0 in January 🥰
My goal this month has been to work on my book in some way every day. Sometimes, that means organizing thoughts. Other times, I'm writing a scene. Some days, it is simply listening to a video or podcast on how to make my writing better. Today was super busy, I edited a few sentences. 🤷♀️
Can’t wait for that craft book! I started November with the goal of 1,000 words a day for my WIP, between drafting new scenes and revising old ones. I quickly realized that wasn’t going to happen (busy life!) so I dropped it to 500. Then I unexpectedly ended up as a submitter for my critique group’s next meeting, so I switched gears to revising and fine-tuning the next chapter I need to send them. TL:DR my goal is to make progress on my WIP in any way, shape, or form!
NaNoWriMo and Howards End quotes. Traditional publishing is just one more avenue to reach the readers you are targeting; if you feel it is the right choice for this book, go for it. Good luck and stay the course!
I started writing a fantasy story because of you. Hope it will be a novel in the end. Even though I cheated and I started in the last week of October, my goal for November is to finish a rough draft. Right now, on the 10th, I have about 14000 words and lot of placeholders, so I am quite happy. I am writing this comment to thank you for helping me. And I don't mean just with tutorial videos, but with the inspiration to start doing it. I am not really taking part in NaNoWriMo, but, as you said, I'm trying to make it a habit this month. Thanks again and good luck with your books!
I've been plotting the second in a cozy mystery series and, just like writing a novel, I'm stuck in the middle of Act 2. But I've been through this before so I'll get through it again! I have to trust the process. Thanks for a great behind the scenes Vlog! Good luck with your query letter! And I know already that I will buy you non-fiction book!
Love this video!! I have always loved writing vlogs and I loved this one!! I think getting your non fiction book traditionally published is huge!! And I think it will do very well when it gets officially published!! I will be definitely buying it for sure when it comes out!!! ❤️❤️❤️✍️
It's my first time doing this, I first heard about it from you Abbie, so thank you! and I am currently waaaay behind, but I plan on taking this book slow, because I have many, many hobbies and am trying to balance craft markets, Nanowrimo, and other things. I find my creative spark in doing these other hobbies, they usually lead me to creative bursts that help me with my first Fantasy novel! thank you for all your writing tips, I've never been so happy to write before.
I love the vlogs!!! I didn’t write at all this week, I was super busy with university, but I’m planning to write for a couple hours today. I know I won’t be able to write during week days, so I want to make a habit of writing for at least an hour during the weekends. I’m like 15 chapters away from finishing my draft and my tentative goal for this month is to get at least half of them done.✨
Good luck with the writing. Just have to mention that you have such a beautiful home, every different 'scene' had something in the background that was gorgeous, so aesthetic. I'd love a home tour video!
Omgsh CANNOT WAIT to get that nonfiction book! This entire video is hitting like an English tea party and I'm calm while also learning. 😂❤ you're the best🎉
We have the same mentality/approach to NaNoWriMo! I'm also not officially participating, and don't care about my word count per day. I just want to write every single day as much as I can :) So far, so good! I wish you luck with both your books.
For me this month is a mix of new and old. I am new to the idea of NanoWrimo. Although I am not officially participating I am challenging myself to the word count and keeping track to keep myself motivated. As someone who works overnights I focus my writing time before work because it is a stress reliever for me. I work in home security so writing is a stress relief and motivation for me. My project for the month is a WIP that I've been working on for a while. I was going to start a new non fanfiction project from scratch, but figured I'd be better suited with finishing my WIP fanfiction first.
Wonderful vlog! Beautifully edited. Ice skating looks so fun 🤩 totally not getting political but it was with a heavy heart to hang up my NANOWRIMO love after more than 12 years of “trying” to win it lol 😅 just don’t stand by the company anymore. That said I looooove November because it brings the writer out in all of us, even us seasoned writers! I say we make “off grid Nano” the official unofficial name 😂😂😂 You rock Abby! And yes as a Patreon I can safely say your live trainings bring massive value 💚✨
This just makes me miss living in Vermont! I still have some writer friends up near Burlington but I didn’t visit them this year and I’m missing my vitamin V 💖 Good luck with your querying! I’ve been enjoying your cozy library writing sprint video all through October and November.
Last year was my first attempt at NaNo, but I failed miserably because I started partway through the month and wasn’t prepared at ALL. This time I spent the whole year preparing on and off, and even practiced in July by writing as much as I could every day and seeing what it got me. Originally I was gonna write the first draft of one of my books for this year’s NaNo, but I ended up deciding to write a fanfic instead and I’m actually so glad I did. Writing a fanfic has made it easier for me to actually come up with plot stuff and write the dang story. I also joined some Discord writing servers and the writing sprints they host in there have been insanely helpful. On Thursday and Friday I wrote over 2,000 words which broke my record for daily word count. I also feel like writing this fic is teaching me a lot about my process, and better exposing me to my own strengths and weaknesses. The fic will have three parts and part one is already almost done! I seriously hope I can stick this out and actually finish a long-form project for once. I’m already so proud of how far I’ve come, and I also have my best friend/critique partner to thank for all their help and support!
Was listening to this while I worked on my NaNoWriMo project. I'm not doing a traditional NaNoWriMo, just trying to get the total word count over all the stuff I'm working on this month. It's November 11 and I've got 9000 words. Very behind but that's okay! Thank you for the great vlog!
My favorite part is the one about getting active - for example ice skating. (Tbh that's not an option for me. But I love taking walks in the near by forest.)
I’m tackling my first novel and discovered you while looking for tips. I love how you teach and explain. The ✨passion✨is there. One thing I haven’t found on your channel that I’d love to see (and I think others would too) is some writing exercises /practices. I had the idea for the novel I’m writing about 10 years ago (which is right around the time I stopped writing) On my journey I am not only RE-learning what I used to know but I’m also learning new things. I feel I need to write outside my novel to practice a “thing” before writing that “thing” in my novel. For example: ✨DIALOG✨ I’m learning how to write Victorian style dialog. I’d love to have an idea of an exercise I can do to practice this before implementing that into my actual novel so I’m not doing it blind. Hope that makes sense and hope you see this! ❤
This NaNoWrimo has been a struggle for me as well. The problem with me I have two books I want to write and I can’t pick one to focus on. For one book I have written three chapters and the other I just have a rough outline. I’m not sure what to do at this point. 😅 But I enjoyed the vlog! ❤
Hi! I recently bought The Otherworld, i only skimmed the pages to see how it looks and damn, the formatting, the font, it’s so beautiful. I’ve read 100 days of sunlight so I’m very excited to dig into it, just need the right moment to!
This is the earliest I’ve ever been! This is my first year doing NaNoWriMo. I think I went in way too overconfident to be honest I considered for a while doing two different projects at once, for a total of 100,000 words across thirty days. Thank goodness I chose not to go through with that 😅
I've been taking some time away from trying to write actual drafts, because the whole staring for hours at the blank page and hating everything that comes out thing was happening A LOT. I've been writing for a year now and I have learned not to push myself through that, because feeling unmotivated and very critical is not how I ACTUALLY feel about writing in general. It's just a mood and it needs time to breathe so it can go away. So I've been watching a lot of writing videos, geeting in touch with other writers' perspectives on writing and routine and creativity in general... I have also finally decided to actually plot my story, in hopes that it will help me break through the blank page staring contest. I sat down with a video about plotting that really resonated with me and wrote down step by step. Then, I sat down with the first step, which was just brainstorming. And I thought I wouldn't get anything out of it, because I brainstormed by novel one year ago and got pretty far with it, I thought now I just need to string everything together, structure those ideas... But oh, man! I came up with such a delicious backstory for my story's setting. It just came to me and led me to come up with some good plot ideas that stem from that background... And it reminded me so much of when I was first starting out, and had no idea this would become such a big thing for me, such a dream. Such a job too. I used to just play around with these ideas, these characters and settings... And I was just focused on having fun! So this has been a major breakthrough for me recently, to never forget to just have fun with it. No matter how seriously I actually take it. It's my biggest joy as well. And I should never let that go. So for this november, I will just continue to experiment. I'm back to the drawing board and I think I might just doodle for a bit.
I liked this way of your vlog, it’s nice, I’ve been working on my Fantasy Romance story, I was working on draft 1-Chp 8 and gladly finished it, and now I’m working on Chp 9, and trying to get some freelance work done hopefully.. 🙏🏼
This month I'm suffering. I got a slow start and had difficulty finding my rhythm, so I've been behind the entire first week. I'm currently at 13,600 out of 15,000 words. I'm resigned to not making par today, either. I'm not sure I'll make the whole 50,000 at this rate. My project is the tale of a quiet, bookish young man with a large sword who is hired to confront a Dark Sorceress. She turns out to be his long lost older sister. The family reunion turns quite exciting. There will be fires and people screaming.
I've been writing a ton... but not my book. Been pulled in soooo many directions. Thanks for saying that there's no one right way to do this - I've been pretty hard on myself for not getting the WC on my novel everyday.
I wish I had the time to write more this november! I'm an a multimedia student and I've been really busy with an animation project lately D: But I really want to start writing comics and your videos have been really helpful to plot my current project! I'll try to buy your book as soon as it comes out! 🕺
I love this so much!!! Your vlogs are my favorite! 💛 I’m so excited you are doing more of these this nano! For November my writing goal is just to make time everyday to write something! I’m currently brainstorming a story I’m really excited about and I can’t wait to see where this story goes! I’m so excited to see how you traditionally publish your nonfiction book! That is so exciting and I hope you share more about the process!
I'm so glad you're doing nano ❤ I'm vlogging it too. Mine is going fairly well, although I'm finding myself a bit bored of my story a lot of the time, which probably isn't the best sign.
I usually use November for editing, rather than writing, with the goal of having something publishable by the end of the year. However my first week has been horrifically unproductive, with my 3.0 draft being harder to write than the original 1.0 was. Also we had a massive heat wave this week (I'm in the southern hemisphere) which was really distracting as I barely slept all week. Love the vlog, by the way - especially your apparent UFO encounter!
What a lovely surprise! 💜This week has been pretty difficult for me mentally and physically, but I still made some progress on writing projects. I'm not participating in nano, and I suppose my goal is similar to yours, Abbie. I want to show up most days (giving myself grace for the really tough days) to work on the first draft of my novel and also some short fiction. Last weekend I finished a short story actually! So exciting :) and it's felt great to get back into working on my novel since I had put it on pause at the beginning of this year.
My goal for NaNo this year is just to deep dive into the second book of my contemporary fantasy trilogy and to begin writing the first draft, while doing all my other creative and chaotic stuff. :D I need to have some projects finished when my short story came back from editing, so that I can concentrate on my anthology text. This is my first time working with a publisher, even if it's just for an anthology. Like you said. There is no second chance for a first impression. And I would like to take advantage of this opportunity. Maybe they'll be interested in my trilogy - as long as they accept manuscripts again. :D Oh... I have to thank you, Abbie. I applied everything I learned from you to this short story. This also seems to be well received on the German book market. This feeling... reading "We would like to print your story" - is such an incentive and it makes me very proud. So thank you Abbie for all the work you do and inspiration you give us. 🥰 Big hugs from Germany Anke
My goal for November is to get the yard cleaned up and mowed, get the house cleaned so I can start my artwork. Then maybe by January I can get back to my story. That thing you saw in the sky is a sun dog. There probably was another one on the other side of the sun.
please please please more vlogs I love this! Just listen to somebody elses thoughts while they are going trough a simulare process is just so refreshing
same here!!
Yes to this! I live for these vlogs!
Yess!!! ❤
in the last weeks I have binged your “write with me live“ playlist and now I have only one scene left!! Tysm it really helped💕
I've binged the whole playlist multiple times over the years 😅
Girl I strive for your level of productivity

4:17 BABY ABBIE AND KATE!!!🥹🥹AHHHHH you guys are so stinkin adorable!!
You go this. I'm on my 15th NaNo, 44k already done. The key is to write it all out first, then edit it after the win.
YES a chaotic vlog!! Tysm for everything Abbie! Ily can't wait to watch and be encouraged in my own writing goals this month :)
A VLOG!! Can't wait!! I've really slacked on my projects, because I'm honestly so stuck and have no creativity or motivation :/

😮 Bonus material! Was shocked and pleased. Wasn't expecting any thing till Wednesday. Way cool vlog. Thanks for sharing, look forward to the next one.
I'm currently editing a book of short stories. The day I realized I was better at short stories than novels is the day I started to blossom.
The short story community rocks 🎉 keep shining, keep writing, and be you ❤
Mad respect for including Mozart. Best of luck to you and your whopping two projects at the same time.
I'm really excited for you no-fiction book!!!! It's an amazing idea, Abbie. You are amazing!!!
Man a in person writing retreat with Abbie would be epic!
@aresaurelian All goods thing that would make me feel significantly better about life
Marrying her would be cool too
@albertross2456 I mean...sure? Genuinely did not see that reply coming.
@@mosspoet6143 I'm a sucker for her personality. Big time. I wish I was good enough to approach her IRL
Thanks for your content and all that you do.
I cannot wait to read that historical mystery novel (also that baby picture of you and Kate was so heartwarming!)
For November this yr, I want to write and complete a short story that I’ll be entering into a competition! I’ll come back to my comment at the end of November and update you all ❤
OMGGG I MISSED YOUR VLOGS SM!!! Ilysm Abbie, you are the reason I'm still writing.🤍
6:24 I didn't know Abby ice skated!! She looks so pretty and graceful when doing it 😍
I just finished my first book. Vampire Horror. Book 1 of a series. Now to move onto edit and revise. Work is about to get super busy, so, January I will start book 2. Thank you so much Abbie. I’ve wanted to write a novel for
so many years, but it felt like a daunting task.
Creative chaos is something I sympathise all to well. 😂
I am so excited to hear about your nonfiction book!!!!
love the vlog! made me feel better about my own prospects as I'm still in the planning mode of writing my first novel (which has now become a trilogy idea!) i wrote up a table with a chapter guide, with the 'what happens' and what does 'protag 1 learn' and what does 'protag 2 learn' in each chapter ect.
This video is bringing me unprecedented joy
I've been cruising through nanowrimo this year, and i attribute some of my success to advice I've received from you over the years. So much so that I've decided to name a mentor character in my book after you, Abbie.
Wow Kate and Abbie my Master your transitions are very excellent in every story.
Off-grid NaNoWriMo counts, Abbie! You're still writing, and that's the point of NaNoWriMo!!! Wishing you the best of luck with your off-grid NaNoWriMo!
OMG WHAT A COZY COZY VLOG. PLS MAKE MORE OF THEM! They're so beautiful to watch, Abbieeee!
I’ve been walking a lot more to get the brainstorming flowing in my mind. Getting out and moving helps so much.
when you said that you need to write fiction for your survival~ I completely understand that and feel it on so many levels. if it's dramatic we can just be dramatic together😂🤍 love this vlog so much!
Intresting☺️
Sounds epic! Story name for future reference?
@@bessieburnet9816 Gunmage: The Ballad of Stephen Reynolds
I love the writing vlogs so much!! I can't wait to watch them all!
Totally want your nonfiction writing craft book! ❤
1:40 HELP! I feel the secondhand pressure
Nice, Abbie! Love the format, lovely, calm, soothing. Inspiring. Can't wait for every upload you make. Thank you.
My goal this month has been to work on my book in some way every day. Sometimes, that means organizing thoughts. Other times, I'm writing a scene. Some days, it is simply listening to a video or podcast on how to make my writing better.
Today was super busy, I edited a few sentences. 🤷♀️
You're an impressively talented individual, Abbie. I can't get enough of your video's and I can't wait to read that book.
TL:DR my goal is to make progress on my WIP in any way, shape, or form!
pleaseee we need more vlogs, i looove your vlogs ❤❤❤
Hii Abbie!
So excited to watch this lol 😊
Love the Honest Vlog style. Give me more!
Abbieeeee! I've missed these! Welcome back!!!!
I say we make “off grid Nano” the official unofficial name 😂😂😂
You rock Abby! And yes as a Patreon I can safely say your live trainings bring massive value 💚✨
This just makes me miss living in Vermont! I still have some writer friends up near Burlington but I didn’t visit them this year and I’m missing my vitamin V 💖
Good luck with your querying! I’ve been enjoying your cozy library writing sprint video all through October and November.
Yay for NanoVlogs! ❤
Thank you for the great vlog!
such a cozy & productive writing vlog, loved seeing your process in a week in my life vlog style 💓
I have that same bird clock. 😊
I had the idea for the novel I’m writing about 10 years ago (which is right around the time I stopped writing)
On my journey I am not only RE-learning what I used to know but I’m also learning new things. I feel I need to write outside my novel to practice a “thing” before writing that “thing” in my novel.
For example: ✨DIALOG✨
I’m learning how to write Victorian style dialog.
I'm so excited for all of the books you're working on! Do you expect the non fiction to be published next year?
god i love these vlogs. they're so peaceful.
This is the earliest I’ve ever been!
This is my first year doing NaNoWriMo. I think I went in way too overconfident to be honest I considered for a while doing two different projects at once, for a total of 100,000 words across thirty days. Thank goodness I chose not to go through with that 😅
im sorry 100,000?!?!?!?!??!
Yeah I put down the project I was doing to start another for NaNoWriMo. I'll get back to the first one when this is done (month or book IDK yet).
I'm an a multimedia student and I've been really busy with an animation project lately D:
But I really want to start writing comics and your videos have been really helpful to plot my current project! I'll try to buy your book as soon as it comes out! 🕺
Abbie I think everyone would love more Vlogs, I know I would
I love this chaotic vlog SO MUCH! Thanks for sharing uwu
❤❤❤ Yeeey! So so so glad and grateful for this vlog. I can't thank you enough for being this amazing person! ❤❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤ Love, love, love this!!!
WE NEED MORE WRITING VLOGS
Oh... I have to thank you, Abbie. I applied everything I learned from you to this short story. This also seems to be well received on the German book market.
This feeling... reading "We would like to print your story" - is such an incentive and it makes me very proud.
So thank you Abbie for all the work you do and inspiration you give us. 🥰
Big hugs from Germany
Anke
My goal for November is to get the yard cleaned up and mowed, get the house cleaned so I can start my artwork. Then maybe by January I can get back to my story.
That thing you saw in the sky is a sun dog. There probably was another one on the other side of the sun.
