I've gone from being pretty lazy and weak, only doing some light yoga and walking, to training for my first thru hike. Over the past year I completed my first three long hiking trips of 50-100kms and I'm ready to take on a bigger challenge! My first thru hike will be on the Great Divide Trail in Canada in either 2021 or 2022 and I'll be sharing my journey of training for the hike to the thru hike itself. I can't wait to take you along for the ride!

And I so relate to your passion for hiking and the outdoors :) it’s just such a wonderful feeling, it fills my heart!
So happy that you enjoyed it! Quebec is beautiful, I actually lived there while I was doing the outdoor adventure naturalist training and I loved it! I lived in a little cabin on the Ottawa River near Chapeau. The nature there is gorgeous so I understand why you love living there!

How do you do this without being afraid of wolves and bears. I would love to hike but for me it’s like going in the ocean and potentially running into a shark. 😅 it’s a genuine fear/concern I have! What helps you combat this thought?
There aren't any wolves or bears to worry about in this part of the alps! There were plenty in Canada, but they prefer to keep to themselves and won't go after a human unless you come between them and their cubs.

Thanks! Unfortunately Pepsi can't come with me, for a few reasons. The great divide trail is much more wild than the big trails in the U.S, and because of that, there's the strong chance of coming into contact with grizzly bears and cougars, which isn't something I'd risk with Pepsi. Otherwise there's also the challenge of having to carry his food over long distances. He eats 3 cups of fresh food per day, and it wouldn't be possible for either of us to carry that much, plus my own gear, for 6+ days at a time in between town stops.

whats the point to all that wasted energy? I hiked this all by myself, I am a big girl I can do any thing, lol we should turn all that forest into concrete and more shopping malls so I can lay on my couch and order stuff online!

@@Tarahhh not really! can't afford life, it's to expensive. Life sucks! every thing in life falls apart, there's no good left, for me any way.
