Jason January is the man, he could go all the way to December with that voice!!!!!!!!
This arrangement of an old song is just fantastic, perfect for these four.
I could listen to this intro ALL day!
Thank you. I have been waiting forever for the rest of that video and anything more you have Acoustix. No quartet will ever come close to them! Joel is great...But the Jeff Oxley days own!!! Jeff Oxley is God.
this is just incredible. acoustix, man, they were the stuff!!
Cracks me up...after the song, Todd almost gets hit in the face with the outside mic. Then Ox says to Jason "How about that G!", referring to the high G post that Jason hit.
Incredible post!!
I think it would be cool if every 5 years or so they had a competition between the gold medal winners for those past 5 years, or 10 years. That would be an exciting competition.
It's great to see this! And I'd love it if you can share more vids from the VM's 1995 England shows.
Rick Middaugh is the man! What a lyrical sweet lead.
I can always put it on here. I forgot that was on there on the end.
Ahh the classic Jason January post stance lol.
I agree!
in the sheet music it starts in the key of G and then theres a key change to A-flat.
Man Jeff is really rocking that mullet...
Jason January, the baritone King!
Once you win the gold you have to at least change 2 members and your name to compete again. Acoustix is still around. Joel Rutherford, the bass for Glory Days, is the bass for them. Joel and Rick are now in Glory days and competed for the first time this July. They came in 6th. Pretty good for their first International.
Jason January is the ballz! Nuff' said.
They were amazing. Havent they reformed? thought they were going to compete again.
Sorry, I've been busy. I'll get strighten up and fly right on here soon.
OMG check out one of the cleanest, sickest fives ever. right between 1:55-1:56 seconds on the word "what". Rick and Jeff are gods!
@BarbershopHero hahaha the Mullet is rocking Jeff, I feel. hahaha
I love the Acoustix. Does anyone have the rest of the clip for the second song on this set? It's a Nat King Cole song, "Straighten Up and Fly Right."
Good idea.
Of course most of the time, for the first couple of years anyway, after a victory they are booked nearly every weekend. That's why I thought going out 5 years would be good cause most of them will stay togehter and keep singing anyway. Or do it like the choruses and let them come back every third year if they want to.
Jeff Oxley was the original bass and is the one in this video. Joel Rutherford didn't join the group until later.
This is amazing! Can someone tell me where i can find the rest of the show?
Who arranged this version of the song? It's phenomenal!
Its a quarter tone between G and G#, still fucking awesome :)
did you hear that trill from JEFF!!!!!
Who is the arranger for this???
Jeff Oxley is the only guy with a big mullet!
Ask Castellar
Is this the Walter Latzko arrangement?
I make it an A flat. :-)
That is a BAD rule. The rules for Texas University Interscholastic League, Ensemble competition, a winning ensemble cannot win two years in a row, but can compete to win after 2 years. I think the standards would be raised if the professional level had the same system, letting a group be King of the Hill as long as they are worthy.
this is scary!
how the hell can you like that!?!?
my friends literally throwing up right now b-cuz of it.
@RiftedRock Nope...your pitchpipe is out of tune. It's a G.
wow ridiculous post!
i think max q is more entertaining, and i'm not a fan of the first song.
I could listen all day! They don’t make them like this anymore. ❤️✨
