The saddest thing being he would have only had 5-10 years of his voice being in its absolute prime. The Prologo is (in my opinion) one of the only true tests of every aspect of the Baritone. The comic timing at the start, the dramatic passages, the lyrical line, the honesty and sincerity of it all and of course the steely high notes. Zanelli even so young nails it.

Renato Zanelli не красується, а жииве театральним образом від першої до останньої ноти. Ренато Дзанеллі і баритон, і тенор, тенор Мігель Флета, Федір Шаляпін і чудо Марії Каллас, як для мене , всі в одному колі легендарних оперних виконавців, до рівня яких багатьом зіркам опери так не вдалося наблизитись. Як казав К. Станіславський, актор успішний коли він любить театр у собі, а не себе у театрі. Так, це абсолютна аксіома.

This man is the only singer I know of who was equally excellent as a baritone and as a tenor. Simply stunning.
