Hi Sharon at Sea! Can't wait to watch your video...but I have to know...did you or did you not do an excursion to Butchart Gardens? You and I had a conversation about this port recently. We have booked an excursion to see the Butchart Gardens...but may cancel it....what are your thoughts? (On a funny note, we are staying at the Hampton Inn in Seattle, the day before our cruise too.)
Gary Bellati No unfortunately we did not go. When we arrived we just didn't feel that we had enough time to enjoy them. We actually ended up taking a taxi downtown, and checked out the Empress Hotel & shopped.1
Sharon, one more question if you don't mind, how far is the Empress Hotel from the port? You took a taxi...can you walk to it or is it to far away? Thank You so much for all of your answers and for being so accommodating! We are getting ready to cruise to Alaska in Sept. and have really enjoyed all of your videos!
Gary Bellati The taxis are right where you get off the cruise ships. it was $10 per taxi for up to 4 people to go downtown where the hotel is. it takes less than 10 minutes to get there. We took taxi both ways, but some of our group walked back to the ship. They said it took around 30 minutes to walk it. You will enjoy it. It's an amazing adventure.
To each their own I guess. We also have fun times as well. The caliber of the carnival ships are no where near other cruise lines. First time i was like holy hell i feel like i am in the back woods of West Virginia and I decided to give it another chance because I wanted to leave out of NOLA. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN !!!
Carolyn Gardner We usually don't take that much, but we had never been to Alaska & weren't sure what we would need. If the weather hadn't been as nice the last few days we probably would have worn everything.

If you sail on RCI you will never go back to Carnival. Carnival is sorta hillbilly.
