Great sermon. I often question my motives when I practice my faith. I wondered about the word perfect in scripture. Being mature makes more sense to me. In this life no one can be perfect except Jesus. If I understand it right , in the next life with a resurrected body we will be perfect. Don't be discourage by a low viewer ship. I got a feeling this is for a more mature audience. God sees your work. God Bless!
I left the evangelical church for many reasons, but one of them was pastors twisting stories to make their point. While there was a lot of good in this message, you mischaracterized Tammy Faye’s story. The interview with Steven Pieters was done on her segment on the PTL Club and was a typical subject for her. She did not suddenly change her views and Christian practices late in life. Additionally, you describing Jessica Hahn as a mistress furthers the dismissal of adult clergy sexual abuse and subsequent victim-blaming that is common place in evangelicalism. Please read Jessica Hahn’s version of events instead of promoting part of Jim Bakker’s abusive rhetoric.
