It will be very interesting to see what JR Hokkaido does with this train once the extension to the Hokkaido Shinkansen opens around 2030. Will they keep the full run from Otaru all the way to New Chitose Airport? (I think they will since the planned Shin-Otaru Station on the Hokkaido Shinkansen is 4 kilometers away from the current Otaru Station.)
