Sometimes its a joy just to sit back and let my wife catch all the fish. I'll sneak one in every now and again while we are fishing, but there's just something special about taking her fishing out in the boat.
I saw the Coast Guard shut down all recreational boating last Wednesday - I guess it doesn't really matter since there aren't any useable ramps in my area. I walked the road to Lock and Dam #13 today. The 13 side is super clear and other than some 1-year-old bass I didn't see or catch anything. The 14 side of the road was a different story. Water clarity was about foot and catching small and medium sized LM Bass was easy. One spot produced 10 fish without me taking a step. Also, I've never seen so many frogs in my life.
There are a couple of spots I can still get out but it's very limited. The bass fishing has been good when I've been out. We found schools of shad in flooded grass and weeds. The bass were there too!
@@AnglerX These fish are pretty good at adapting to the movements of their prey species. Big channels cats are starting to stage in the vicinity of mulberry trees.
Enjoyed and learned from your video as always. The footage around 7 minutes in was fantastic. Been a long time since I've seen feeding like that. Thanks for creating and sharing this content. TIGHT LINES ALL
Thank you! I was amazed at the number of white bass on those wing dams. It's also amazing how there can be so many one day and other days you can't find them anywhere.
Lance sometimes when you use a clip with the Pop-R I think it allows you to lose tension on the fish so they can shake the hook easier! I always tie my Pop-R directly with a knot that locks down!
Funny you say that. My Dad and I just went for smallmouth on Saturday using the Pop R. I tied directly to the lure and didn't lose any fish. Thanks for the tip!
Great video! I was fishing that same exact wingdam they are stacked on it! Brought my fly rod out there last week and got a few on the fly rod which was a blast!
the smack talkin was the best. she puts you into perspective lance! my gf loves her fun approach & 90s hip hop references. alot of stripers here on pool 15 but dang they were blowing up for you guys like you were electro fishing.
Niki and I enjoy the smack talking as well! The white bass have really shown up in a big way recently. I suppose the higher water may have a role in that.

This is the kind of frenzy we dream about ! Awesome footage
They were snapping! Thank you Anthony!

Yes! I enjoy our time together on the water very much!

@@AnglerX no problem I love that lure!

A fly rod setup would be fun! I've been playing with the idea of getting into fly fishing for bass.
That last one Niki caught was a TANK! I need more big WB in my life like that one!
There were a few different year classes in those schools.
@@AnglerX Good to see!
I had a really good topwater day for white bass last year with a spittin image
Nice!
You guys always crack me up - great video! I don’t think anything could be more fun than getting into white bass on a popper!
Poppers might be my favorite top water bait...if it isn't a frog.
@@AnglerXsame! Both go hand in hand depending on situation imo!

Another winner Lance.

Wow, talk about non-stop action!
The white bass were hungry 😄
Your a lucky man to fish with your wife.
Agreed!
Hilarious, you weren't kidding about 'sugar high'..🤣..and great fishing to boot!..😉
She loves sweets! 😂
They were going nuts on my topwater yesterday. But we caught a ton and couldnt locate any more schools unfortunately
Nice! You have to catch them while you can. They tend to disappear and reappear quickly.
Where is this location at? What dam?
Simon says whitebass on fiyer lets go!
They are delicious!
