I show you how to install Riva Racing Top Loader Intake Grate on my 2019 Yamaha GP1800R. I’m not claiming to be a engineer but those intake grates look identical except for the 2 extra bars and I believe the reason they started calling the gp 1800 R is because they put riva ride plate and intake grate on it !! I think putting those rubber pieces will help dramatically with cavitation

Quick question: I hope you can help. If I take off my intake plate to removed debris from the impeller area, would that possibly cause water to get inside the ski? I recently done that, but I sealed the bolts.... a week later I took my ski on the water, after 20 minutes I have 5 inches of water inside. Could this be related to mr taking off the intake grate? Thanks much - I appreciated.

What if I just cut ( grind ) that middle piece of the oem one ? Wouldn't that be way easier and less work ? Also cheaper to do ? I would just cut that middle piece a couple of inches on the middle .. anyone though of this ??😅
