I never really looked at library as a death game. It's a really interesting take on the story, though I think Roland describes the library best. It's like an arena, somewhere where a lot of capable people go to fight to the death for rewards. But when I think about it, what are arenas if not just death games disguised as sports? One thing that I really like about how Library of Ruina handles the story is that after it splits up the branches, each of them handles the story is that the core justification that Angela proposes of what actually makes it a 'better' option then other things in the city get's completely deconstructed in different ways over each of the four different paths to it. Only one of the paths makes any actual attempts to justify it in narrative, and even then it serves to highlight the Library as just another part of the city that can be used by it's inhabitants that is still caught up in all of the various ongoing games that Angela acts like it's in some way different from.
I know it is an incredibly small detail, but (MAJOR SPOILERS) I appreciate how during the montage that repeatedly mentions Philip, it mentions him once for every encounter he has (five times in total, with the Dawn Office, Wedge Office, Crying Children, Reverb Ensemble, and Distorted Ensemble).
It does go on sale every so often on Steam, though idk if there's a sale for it on the horizon (maybe Spring sale?) It's worth the $30 price tag though and can easily spiral into over 100 hours. never in my gameplay.... seeing an enemy in a clash roll the minimum value ( well without buff / debuff )
“Library of Ruina is a game that, despite having more content warnings than side effects on your standard pain killers, manages to be surprisingly upbeat and fun! just as often as it is harrowing and painful…”
Cue to me, who has been shooting opiates, from ur strong painkiller dilaudid to street ready, black tar, china white, and now fentanyl, for almost 10 years now: heh, funny…! 😂😂😂 jus’ like real life, huh?

Why would anyone be bad at piano man, he literally brought everyone together 😊😊😊
This Phillip guy sounds interesting.
You will meet philip
lmao
Is there a place that I can watch your playthrough of LoR? I love watching people play through the game, it sort of helps me almost pretend to be experiencing it blind again.
I'm afraid many of them are archived under an old channel name. But everything from near the start of Impuritas onward is under the 'Live' section. Chances are, I'll probably come back to the game with challenges at some point
@@FreyCheqama Does the channel still exist? If I can watch them on that other channel that would work for me too.
After the first 10 seconds of video I am legally obliged to force you to play "Your Turn to Die". Some time in the past i planned to write an essay about that game starting with the same words: I LOVE deathgame scenarios. And YTTD is THE BETTER Danganronpa.
Love that game
Hate that green-haired son of a bitch Sou though
sandwich gone wrong
Damn I love Philip I only wish libraries and books were real 😢
Is…is Pete a cyclopes?

@FreyCheqama Do you know what song you used right before then or was it just a sped up version of an instrumental string theocracy?
@@bestaround3323 It's exactly that with the pitch altered
Why do you sound so similar to the announcer from WatchMojo...
Wow this is just like Danganronpa
Or Your Turn to Die, which imo is arguably better 😅
But fr fr Ruina is the GOAT when it comes to lore-based card battlers, can't think of anything topping this experience of a game yet
Does anyone have that ending theme by itself
Feisty Flowers from Everhood
Alabama Barbecue? Wtf?
Since you like this game, you are the love of my life my pookie bear (dont pin this its embarrassing)
No pins, just hearts
Tell me about Dante
