Mike, all the toplines are identical. Srixon did it that way in order to make it easier (visually) to blend the 3 models in a mixed set. The offsets differ, but not the topline.
They make great irons. I was recently tempted to get a set of these. I couldn't decide between the Mizuno 245 or the srixon Xi5... And the only reason I went for the Mizuno was the availability in Australia with the shaft that I wanted I couldn't get the shaft that I wanted in the Srixon but they are great irons. I used to use the 701s years ago and honestly they were probably one of the most underrated irons for game improvement iron back then there's something about their forging process too that they do really well.
I have a set of original ZX5 & they are fantastic, I toy with the idea of only changing 7 to PW now I’m an improved mid handicap, the 4 to 6 still have plenty of life in em, the new ZX7 sound mint
I play Srixon irons. Outstanding. One complaint though for some time has been the top line thickness. Not sure why Srixon hasn't made some changes to their players irons.
They are the best feeling irons I’ve had. They are a massive underdog in the iron department an cheaper than the big 3. I recommend ppl to try these even if they don’t buy them
Great review sir, I've tried the ZXI 7s man they're amazing irons just a great feeling accurate perfect set of blades. If I hadn't gotten my p770 this year already I would go for them
Picked up new ZXI5 Nippon G950 set a Month ago my handicap has come down and confidence has gone up best performing and feel Irons ive played Launch and Power
I have the srixion 565 irons whichvare forged. Is there really that improvement in terms of forgiveness, distance and feel with the newer srixion mk irons?
You stated zxi4 lacked a bit of spin but landing angle and height was fine the zxi5 only span a bit more ...zxi4 is a cracking iron people should look at more itll help it will go high enough and stop quick trust me i playwd the original zx4 and height wasnt an issue and stopped quick
Could never get past that blocky topline. I also find the turf interaction in ZX7 to be compromised by the thick sole, even with its V-grind. My numbers and the feel were great on sim off plastic turf. Hit them outdoors off fairway and they just don’t feel or perform as well. My gamers are Miura 501’s; much better look at address, much softer feel and better turf interaction. I do carry a Srixon U85 20*, bent to 21 and the same in 18*, bent to 18.5 that’s in the bag for certain courses. I find them extraordinarily forgiving off tee and turf, lots of spin for good control and very consistency in launch and distance. Yes, they are a bit ‘clicky’ and lack feel but it’s not a scoring club. They are straight and consistent while typically landing reasonably soft. Great clubs. I do wish Srixon/Endo would make more of a players version of ZX7. No I am not suggesting a ZX9. 3 distinct models is enough while avoiding the confusion so many other brands are strangled by. I understand they are attempting to accomodate blended sets but there seems very little to distinguish the ZX7 from 5. Take the 7, slim the sole by 30%, make the top line 50% thinner and shrink the entire head from heal to toe by 20%. I still think it could blend with ZX5 in the 3-4-5 irons but you’d now have a 7 with improved aesthetics, improved turf interaction and likely more consistent launch and spin.
I’ve tested previous ZX 5 & 7 models. Haven’t put them in my bag as I found other clubs better for me. I like your feedback on these though. Definitely the underdog Srixon……. ⛳️👍🏼⛳️
@@CKGolfer Just out of curiosity, why’d you weaken the lofts? Were you worried about low spin…because they seem to reach about the same height as the ZXi5s. Did you consider a combo set (ZXi4s + ZXi5s)?
Can you please compare these with the ping and mizuno game improvement irons, these for instance seem low in spin rate from your review of the pings. Game improvement versus game improvement please.
I know the zxi7s are more your club Michael, but the zxi4s had much better results...distance and accuracy. Thoughts? I'm a 4.5 handi playing Mizuno JPXs
Thanks Michael, great review. Really impressed w/ the Srixon ZXi4s. Despite the stronger lofts they seem to reach the same height and have a similar landing angle as the ZXi5s. I play to a ~12 HC index, but just turned 70 and have begun losing distance. Will definitely give them a try. Just out of curiosity, were you using the same shaft w/ the three irons?
So it’s another hunk of metal on the end of a stick wow! How many times can they give it a new name or put a new stripe on it before people understand that a set of clubs from 10 years ago for $100 will perform every bit as good as any of these new Mega expensive wonder sticks?

Playing the original Zx4 and love them. Three years down and time for a new set so will definitely be trying these out.
Nice job Michael.

I'm a huge proponent of the Zx7 and Zx5. Have a mixed set now. Can't wait to try these. Thanks Mike.... Excellent as usual.
I have the zx 4 from last year and love them so no surprise to see zxi perform well
I have a set of original ZX5 & they are fantastic, I toy with the idea of only changing 7 to PW now I’m an improved mid handicap, the 4 to 6 still have plenty of life in em, the new ZX7 sound mint
Michael, wonderful review of these Srixon irons. I now want to go and test these clubs. Always enjoy your videos.

Great sound coming off the 4's...amazing for a hollow club! Great review! Thanks.

All sets of irons forged by Endo are fantastic. Endo was the forging house that made Tiger’s irons for years until he joined TM.
I have the srixion 565 irons whichvare forged. Is there really that improvement in terms of forgiveness, distance and feel with the newer srixion mk irons?
Beautiful looking club

ZXI7 4-W Modus 120X 😎

What’s your handicap?
I’m currently gaming the Cobra Forged Tec, but will be looking at these
I’m still gaming the 785/585 combo. 4-6 585 7-PW in 785.
Definitely considering another combo set.
I recently got the t150 irons from titleist. Absolutely blown away how long and soft they feel
Great irons
@@roryodonnell I agree 👍 got them myself
Great video Mike. Srixon are largely ignored, but find them great. Zx7 is such an amazing feeling club.
The top line is supposed to be the same across all three to help with blending
I’ve tested previous ZX 5 & 7 models. Haven’t put them in my bag as I found other clubs better for me. I like your feedback on these though. Definitely the underdog Srixon……. ⛳️👍🏼⛳️
Hope your well pal....
Just ordered the ZXi4's 1 degree weak.
Perfect that ...I'd have done same tweak the loft
Still absolute power bats…. Mega distance irons
Nice move!

I'll probably never stop using Z-Forged ... went from I to II ... and will probably keep going ... tested all kinds .. nothing comes close ...
Any chance you'll be reviewing the jpx925 forged?
make stunning irons
I tested the zx5 when I bought my cobra king tours. I swear it was just a coin flip. Srixon makes lovely clubs.
Bought cobra king tours at end of season. No chance to play yet . Till spring. Whats your opinion of them? Mid handicap

hi 75 mph swing speed here ...back issues.... do you think the zx4i irons would produce enough spin for an old guy like me ?
Want srixon so bad , but where I’m going to get fitted doesn’t carry them :(
Thanks Michael, great review. Really impressed w/ the Srixon ZXi4s. Despite the stronger lofts they seem to reach the same height and have a similar landing angle as the ZXi5s. Yes same shaft in all 3 👍
These would be "over"dogs for me. Beauties.
You put them up there w/Vega
yes
I play the ZX5/ZX7 mk II is it worth the upgrade?
I don’t think so mlk looks just as good or better I think you’re good I wouldn’t switch no need to
99.9% of the time the answer is no when comparing a single model gap.
I have just done this - the improved feel of the new model made it worth it for me

About as many times as a pseudo intellectual contrarian makes this comment on a new club video.
I’d play you for money tomorrow. It sounds like you’re used to parting with it!
@booger65man your mum does charge a lot. It's worth it, though.
My mom does not like straggle toothed limey Brits! Can you just buy a toothbrush and some toothpaste and use it once a week at least?
Wow vicious
