This was helpful! A friend and I want to get started, by I'm trying to figure out what host to use and have been stuck. It feels overwhelming--there are so many. I was leaning towards Podbean because of the free option, but Captivate also seemed amazing for the cost.
Great video. I am starting a video podcast this year and am researching an editing software (thinking riverside), and looking at hosting sites (squarespace). Am I missing another recurring expense lol?
A bit weird to recommend Buzzsprout as the number 1 option for beginner podcasters, when their free version only lets you upload 2 hours and will also only host the episodes for 90 days? Who wants to start a podcast and have the episodes deleted after 90 days? Equally you don't really want to pay $12 a month when you're just starting and don't know if you're gonna stick to it or if it's going to go anywhere. After looking around a bit more, Acast sounds like a nice option - free to get started, no limit on uploads, and no condition to delete the episodes after a set time. Makes you guess that Buzzsprout is sponsoring this video and it would feel nicer if it was made transparent.
They did not sponsor this video. They’re our go to recommendation for new Podcasters because they’re super easy to use, always evolving and by 90 days most have made a decision as to if they will stick with their show or not and can upgrade if they choose or transfer hosts if they don’t want to. Go with whatever is best for you 👍
If you have no budget, its definitely a solid option! Just pretty bare bones in terms of features and it also scares me with it being completely free and how much money they lose on it each year, for shows with a budget I usually recommend investing in a product you know wont go away. But for brand new shows, a solid option!

Short, sweet to the point. A fantastic video that I've saved to share with other creators.

That should be all of it, unless you’re paying for someone to do the editing of the content for you!
What’s your show going to be about ?
Thanks so much for the highlight! :)
Absolutely!
As you progress, can you move host and keep previous content?
What about Spotify for Podcasters (formerly Anchor)?
This is what I use.
Me too. However they're making major changes
garbage. deleted my content

Thank you for your réel recommendation
How hard is it to switch once you’ve set up shop with one of them? For example can one start with Podbean then switch to Captivate?
Great question! Redirecting/moving your show is straightforward from any of the hosts to another
Does it mean that if you have Podbean that you do not need riverside or squadcast anymore?
Hi, thanks for this. Wondering what you think of Spotify as podcast hosting site?

Feed TWO BIRDS with ONE BREAD (not crumb - be generous) 😄

Not sure what you’re referring to. But if you have no budget, check out Spotify for Podcasters
Which one is best for people outside of the US because you can’t monetize with some of these when you’re not in the US 🫤
