    You can't spell Woke without WO. Love it.
    Slippery slope is a good argument. It has been borne out time and time and time again over the past 80 years. EVERY other church that has adopted it has gone full clown world. Not some. ALL. Does it even matter whether correlation equals causation at this point?

    Thank you so much for this! As an Anglican in the ACNA I’ve been struggling to find an understanding of this issue. This episode has been extremely helpful to me. Moving on to Part 2 soon.

    Interesting conversation. 🤔 As someone who is considering making a change to an ACNA church, this would be my biggest gripe. The diocese in my area ordains women and a lot of the churches close to me have female associate priests, which I don't agree with at all. But it's not a complete deal breaker for me. I do hope the ACNA finds a solution in the future.
    On another note, I think the invention of hormonal birth control has wrecked the family unit. Two parents working outside of the household has resulted in more consumerism and disconnected relationships between parents and children. Hormonal birth control also acts as an abortifacient and isn't a very pro-life choice to control family size. God can and will provide for families who decide to live on one income. My family of 6 does it and my husband is just an average Joe making $60k a year. If we can do it, most can. We also homeschool.
    The reality is that Americans have changed their priorities and standard of living. Vacations, large homes, and extracurriculars are NOT necessities, but raising godly children should be a main priority for young families. I would also point out that women working part time may be a better way to supplement your income to get by, but still have a parent that is more present.

    I’m glad you brought up the fact that a single wage was able to afford a family a comfortable life, and now it takes both partners working and in many cases don’t attain the same standard of living, let alone the impact on the family of having both parents out of the house.

    I think it's plausible that dual integrities was meant to be a permanent solution in the ACNA and that it will persist as such. As you've said, the question is whether people will tear the ACNA apart if dual integrities doesn't end. It only came about because there were bishops who left TEC with most of their clergy, women included. These bishops had no problem with ordaining women, which is why they didn't leave TEC when the church changed the canons in 1976 permitting women's ordination.
    As for Robinson, I get his perspective, and they know the type of speaker he is. But at the same time, I get the perspective of the conference's organizers. The topic was critical race theory, not even women's rights or gay rights. You don't show up in somebody's house and disrespect them like that. I believe there were bishops in the audience who ordain women and whose female priests were there too.
    If he couldn't point to specific instances of the clergywomen in the audience being personally responsible for a slippery slope, or that the specific diocese where the conference took place was going down the tubes because of women's ordination, then it sounds like he was out of line.

      Thanks for your comment. I do think it is possible that dual integrities was meant as a long term solution rather than a bandaid at the beginning of a new province. I'm hopeful, personally, that for the sake of ecumenical dialogue moving forward we might arrive at a different solution. That being said, I am thankful for our Bishops and will continue to pray that the Lord leads them as they seek to lead the ACNA.

      As far as what Robinson was supposed to speak on, the title of his slot on the conference website says Critical Theory. Nothing about race. Maybe they meant Critical Race Theory, but according to Robinson, that wasn't communicated.
