My daughter recently lost total vision due to T1D complications. She is a florist! Owns her own business and is still creating beautiful bouquets totally blind! She is such an inspiration to me. As you are! We thank you for sharing Xx
I’ve had Type I Diabetes for 57 years and was recently diagnosed with non prolific retinopathy. I’m hoping I never lose my sight from it. I’ve known my whole life that it’s always a possibility. I’m so glad she’s still able to do what she loves.
Do you mind sharing how long she had T1D before she lost her sight? I have had T1D for 25 years... I am afraid I will lose my sight but have no expectations or estimations as to when...
@@sarahhatfield6911 I’m not the OP but retinopathy is caused by high blood sugars over the years. As you know T1D is hard to manage so your BGs are never perfect. My ophthalmologist said he usually sees it after 10 years of T1D. With that in mind, you’re at 25 years and you still don’t have it, so that’s good! I have 57 years and I’m just being diagnosed with retinopathy. There’s really no way to know when or if it will happen. Over the years I’ve chosen to live without fear and keeping in the background. I’m aware of course. The best thing to do is do your best to manage this uncontrollable disease. I hate the word control. There are also different stages of retinopathy. I’m at the first stage. I will continue with my yearly diabetic eye exams with my ophthalmologist. If it progresses I think you do laser surgery for it. I’m a bit nervous about it all. Sorry for the lengthy answer. I hope it helps. I wish you the best. ❤️

Two Blind Brothers is AMAZING! My mom got a couple of the "shop blind" mystery boxes for my partner and I several years ago and we're all completely obsessed with their clothes. I'm wearing a pair of their socks right now and my partner wears their hoodies all the time. It's all super high quality and supports such a great cause! Thrilled to see you highlighting them, Molly - and you aren't exaggerating how soft the plush puppies are!! I'm excited to check out some of the companies I wasn't familiar with!
I love this. Helping small businesses who are VI and blind. I am registered blind with less than 1% in left and 10% in right eye. I have my own online shop. (UK facebook based but can ship to US). It's more of a hobby but hope to run an actual shop. I do stuff for people who are sighted and for the VI or Blind. I do tactile cards with braile greetings, keyrings, bracelets etc. It takes a long time and dedication but i want to make cards that everyone can read/see along with other gifts for all throughout the different occasions. Bring smiles to everyone. Xx
I like how Molly says, “With this fit?! 😍” and her boyfriend says, “It fits really well, yeah.” So hilarious. The fashionista vs the practical man. Gotta love the dichotomy.
I have been legally blind since birth and employment has always been a struggle. I have a bachelors degree and a masters in counseling and was still not able to find a good job. A few years ago, I felt the call into pastoral ministry and went through the ordination process in my church. I am now on staff as associate pastor. It is only part time but coupled with my Social Security. It has been a huge blessing in my life! I have always felt that there is more we can do as a society to help disable people with employment. The ADA and equal opportunities acts only go so far.
I love this! I have chronic pain/illness /disability and own a counseling practice. I only hire people who are in the chronic/disability community and we work with clients with the same community as well. It's so nice to have a place where everyone struggles in the same unique way, a great place of healing. I find that being a counselor is one of those jobs that if youre struggling with a certain thing (like EDS for me and blindness for you) clients who are also living with that LOVE working with counselors who struggling with the same diagnosis.
We ordered the black lab (Beacon) from two blind brothers and my daughter "adopted" it and sleeps with it every single night. It's adorable especially because I was a puppy raiser for Guiding Eyes for the Blind with a yellow lab named Felicia.
Autisim and adhd girly here. I just started my youtube channel up again. I love you so much. I am just feeling it out with shorts right now. Thank you for the idea! Mostly it is clips of my dog.
Okay, I'm obsessed with every single one of these items. As a visually impaired (future blind) girlie I NEED these lol. Couldn't find the giveaway rules but hoping this counts!
Thank you Molly for teaching the world that just because people who are disabled doesn't mean that they aren't able to work they just need a chance to prove that they can and sometimes can do a better job than most who aren't disabled. Everyone deserves and wants to be treated equally. ❤❤❤❤ And happy holidays everyone.
SO cool with the braile embroidery on clothing! And the sweater you have on is so sleek and looks cool and versatile. It doesnt scream BRAILLE while still being a silent nod in that direction. I could totally see myself wearing something like that.
Oh my god, NO!, now I need and want a colored cane tip, like a pink one for my pink and rosegold glitter cane. I just can’t bear to do oversea packages with the taxes the Netherlands and the country shipped from likes to add to it. Luckily Lachi is bases in the UK as they are across from us the shipping is fine.
I live in England and my grandmas cousins live in Canada and one of them sends Christmas presents to my mum and vice versa and they tend to send home made things from her local community and one year she sent some jewellery for me that was made by a blind girl in her community 😅 I wear it loads and it’s so pretty 😊
