    These videos are VERY NECESSARY. I felt unequipped for a real career after attaining a bachelor degree in Information Technology. You are the only person in in the whole world who understands.

    omg Karaleise this is so timely! I passed my CBAP exam in January but I haven't yet gotten a BA job and I've been feeling like maybe this ain't for me. 2 recruiters messaged me this week with job ads and i didnt respond to any of them because I feel like once they speak with me over the phone they'll see thru my "cluelessness", even though I know a lot of learning comes from actually doing a job. Thanks for the tips and encouragement. ps I had no idea you're a mommy. Your daughter is beautiful!

      Hi Princess, thanks for watching the video!! Please respond to the recruiters right away!!! You passed the CBAP so you are not clueless. Watch my video on how to prepare for a business analyst pre-interview call here: th-cam.com/video/Lm3-Bmax864/w-d-xo.html and then watch this: th-cam.com/video/-VoLohvGliw/w-d-xo.html. A part of learning is also doing the interview. You will get better with each interview but you must start scared. You must take massive imperfect action. You will feel unsure but do it anyway. Please respond to the recruiters today and let them help you get to the next step. Also please visit my website and join the mailing list for more career advice ( karaleise.com/). Good luck!!!

      @@Nehad84 hi, I eventually got a BA job. I would strongly advise that if you have no idea what the BA profession is about, enrol yourself in a BA training program that will give your real life projects to work on so you can get a feel of what the role is about and if it's something you really want to do. All the best.

    Hi, do you have any templates for creating a business case to adding a new department to an organisation? Or the best way to do it? Many thanks as always

    • @karaleise
      @karaleise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hi Samsung, I don't have a template for business case - yet! You remind me that I had planned to do one. In the mean time here are the steps you should think about when doing your business case:
      - Do a needs assessment: what's the problem they want to solve?
      -Identify what is the desired outcome - when they add this new department what does the ideal future look like?
      -Explore alternatives -what else could they do instead of adding a new department? new technologies? new processes? new models? Doing nothing is also an alternative. Examine the impact if they do nothing as well
      -Make a recommendation. After all that you have researched, what is your recommendation? Always have a view point to present at the end when you do a business case.
      You are a part of my mailing list so I can send you more information via email. Hope that helps!

    God bless you for this video, I am currently studying Business Analysis and am so confused right now. I feel I chose the wrong course.
    I have an Assignment am working on, preparing a Business solution Assessment (BSA) Document on any project. The lecture note is confusing and not detailed, I have checked online and can't see anything on BSA. I guess it has another name I don't know.

    • @karaleise
      @karaleise  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Magy, thanks for watching the video! Business Analysis is not an exact science, which is a blessing -and a curse. Because the techniques and the documents produced are not all strictly defined, every few years or so there is a new spin on what we are all already doing. The BSA may be one such spin.
      The business solution assessment is just an analysis to see the business readiness to implement or use the new solution being proposed. Traditionally this would be done in business case document, feasibility study or in the requirements document. So the BSA is a new way to document this assessment in one place instead of having it spread across different documents. It's another book term that is not very well used in the real world. I found this article on it that might be useful for you: aoteastudios.com/2012/02/the-babok-solution-assessment-and-validation/. Hope that helps!!
