For the "old time" rhythm I understood it was set to the popular dances of the later half of the 19th century, the gallop, polka, waltz jigs and reels?

yes absolutely but this rhythm is my own fusion of tongue blocking blues techniques with an Old-Timey groove. cheers! Ed
