Hellloooo! My name is Clancy and I'm originally from Long Island, NY, whch is about 40 minutes from NYC. In 2017, I moved to Ohio to become a TV news reporter, but after waking up at 2 a.m. for 5 years, I decided to leave that job and pursue TH-cam full-time.
I recently bought a house in Cincinnati and love making all kinds of videos, focusing on everything from money and finances (saving, budgeting, and being financally independent in your 20's) to health, fitness, and nutrition, to beauty and fashion.

Hey Clancy, be careful with rugs on the deck! If your deck is wood, the rug will cause the deck to rot as it will absorb moisture when it rains and the deck can’t dry. It happened to our deck from a rug!

There is usually a point where you “pop” in pregnancy and it’s like you wake up one day and the bump cannot be hidden.
We had our first daughter last year and I bought a dresser with a changing table that converts to a regular dresser when the baby no longer needs the changing table and the matching crib converts to a bed. That way you can keep the furniture longer and you aren’t wasting a bunch of money!
Baker here 👩🏻🍳 If you can have the egg yolk then just separate out the whites. So it would work like this- if the recipe called for 2 eggs use 3 or 4 yolks only.
You learn as you go! No one knows about babies until they have one of their own because each little babe is so different💖

Girl, you can make brownies with just the egg yolk. just add 1 extra yolk than it calls for. It’s healthy and the brownies will turn out perfect. Also, when you’re pregnant sometimes you won’t have allergic reactions to things you did while not pregnant. It doesn’t hurt to try some lactaid with dairy and it might be fine. If you had a severe reaction to something, then obviously don’t expose yourself to it again, just referring to things like lactose intolerance. You’re such a good mom to Asher and I know you’ll get the hang of motherhood pretty quickly. There is ALWAYS a learning curve with each kiddo, so give yourselves grace. ❤

Have you considered secondhand clothes from once upon a child? Babies grow so fast, secondhand shops for baby/kids clothes are like a godsend

The best advice I could give you when it comes to baby things… check out videos of 2nd or 3rd time moms. A lot of baby companies target new moms & make you feel fear if you don’t buy the $900 crib mattress lol watch the videos of moms that have been there. Same with packing your hospital bag! I recommend watching the “what I actually used” videos! It’s nice to have a lot of things at the hospital but remember you have to come home and unpack that stuff that you didn’t use or need plus adjust to a new baby. It can be overwhelming lol

Something you'll definitely need once you have the baby is..... batteries!!! Lots of them and different sizes. No one ever told me this and they are always needed. Also, I regret getting a crib with a changing table. It takes up space and after a year, your baby will outgrow the table. I only changed my second baby on the floor lol

Thought I posted it. Target sells JustEgg, made from monkfruit. It functions exactly like eggs. Like you, I can't do eggs or milk, and I rely on just egg and either Oatly or banana milk for baking.
You may know nothing about baby’s now, but those motherly instincts will kick in right away! I have no doubt that you and Zac will be great parents. I can’t wait for the gender reveal!! 🥰

Thank you for being so transparent about not knowing anything about children and motherhood. I’m 30 and don’t have kids yet and like you, don’t know much at all about them. I’ve always felt like something was wrong with me or maybe kids just weren’t for me. So it’s very refreshing to hear you be honest about not having knowledge in that department. I’m know you’ll be an amazing mother and figure it all out❤
How cool is it that y’all take Asher to doggy daycare when you go out for several hours. That’s very rare in my experience. He has so much opportunity. No doubt that you will be amazing parents!

I agree with you! I like being around people, but too many people makes me anxious and I can spend only so many hours with them. I also can go for a couple of days of being around people and then I need my own alone time so I totally get you Clancy!😍❤️🌞😎🌸

Ask your friends/family that have children what brands of the big items (car seat, crib, stroller, etc) they like and ask them what they used and loved; had but didn’t use, etc.
Also, the Finger Lakes area of NY is gorgeous!!
The pregnancy insomnia was so intense my last trimester that one night I re-painted the entire kitchen. I also remembered thinking that the waking up all night with the baby was amazing sleeping compared to the insomnia .

I loved shopping for my baby's clothes. I started in the 2nd trimester and took advantage of clearance and after season sales to get a variety of sizes from 0-12 months.

As a boy mom who is currently pregnant with a girl, I loved boy clothes shopping so much more. Both are hit or miss, but I loved the boys clothes so much more than I'm loving the girl clothes.
Also, if you're struggling with sleep, look into taking unisom. It's helped me so much!
if u want milk, i love lactaid milk!! i also use lactose pills that work pretty well for me, but ik it’s different for everyone
Anything soft surroundings is wonderful! You lucked out on that deal as their stuff is pricey but oh my gosh. Lounge/pajamas are the best!

My fave places for baby clothes are Zara and H&M, if you’re ever searching! They are a little pricier but I find the quality (especially Zara) is so good. And I just love their styles of clothes!
Target is perfect for basics-kids pants, shorts, bathing suits, shoes, etc!
From Los Angeles, if I had to move to another city hands down it would be nyc! 💙

Lactaid pills have been LIFECHANGING for me with my lactose intolerance! Definitely get the Lactaid Brand Fast Acting Pills and try it with cheese or something with dairy baked in to test the waters before diving into ice cream or milk which can require more than one pill. Best of luck on your dairy journey!

Clancy, I've been following you since I found your video for the "messy bun" tutorial back when I was teen. It's crazy that now you are pregnant!! My hubby and I are looking to have a baby next year so its just crazy to me, I feel like we're in the same boat ❤️
I have a ton of food allergies. I have also cut out added sugar, so for desserts lately I chop up dates and melt some 100% dark chocolate then add some butter until it’s melted and I coat the dates and then I freeze them. It’s so delicious they remind me of candy and have great texture. I have been doing chocolate covered banana bits too and it’s just delicious. I’ve seen people use coconut oil with the melted chocolate as well to add a crunch!
Try fairlife milk! It’s a lactose free milk but tastes the same. You can use it for baking or even make yogurt with it
you should search for a vegan bakery or spot near you! i’m sure they make vegan treats like cookies & brownies ❤
I fixed the 3am wake up with snacks. It was a drop in blood sugar. Even now I’m pregnant with my second and anytime I wake up at 3 I grab a protein packed snack and go straight back to bed!
I totally hear you on craving your allergies! I have celiac and want foods I’ve never even had like Taco Bell. Super strange! I’m also diary and soy free for my son’s allergies and suddenly all I want is cheese and ice cream! I don’t get it

My brother in law is allergic to dairy and nuts and you are so right. A lot of the time dairy is substituted with nuts. It is always a journey making things for family dinners.

I'm lactose intolerant too, and when i was pregnant i was able to have some dairy without any issue! Once baby came I couldnt anymore though 😅
I also took the Calm magnesium supplement to help with sleep.
Do you have a buybuy baby near you? They have such a huge selection of baby things to see in person. I have three kids and always splurged on the car seats went medium for the stroller because it depends if you plan on having more like one close together. My first two were 2 years apart so I splurged on a double stroller... by the third I bought second hand because there's a huge age gap. Eventually you may want a wagon too but buy buy baby is great to register because you can see so much at once.
King Arthur gluten free brownie mix! Sub apple sauce or mashed banana for the egg.
I can sweat a lot at work etc but i could never find a deodorant that could mask the odors so i tried Wild out of curiosity and because its vegan and its the ONLY one that covers the smell. I feel so comfortable with it!!! So definitely go for it

I was diagnosed with lactose intolerant at 36. My doctor didn’t do a test but don’t me based on your symptoms I had it 🤔 still wish I was tested.
I purchased a pregnancy pillow, because I was also a stomach sleeper. I would highly suggest that, that has made the transition easier.

When I was pregnant, I spent a lot of time on my feet, and the second I decided to go to sleep, my my daughter would wake up and party for HOURS. Or she would get hiccups (which btw if they have hiccups in the womb they will have them often earthside). Little did I know babywearing would be our favourite thing. My daughter is one today and I had her on my back for an hour on a walk and we both loved it.
I sometimes replace an egg with an avocado for brownies or cookies, I can't taste the difference. Maybe it's worth a try??
You should be able to find a recipe for vegan brownies that don't have eggs milk or nuts
Do you guys have any good consignment baby stores or pop-ups?
I would really suggest browsing through places like that. You can find some nice items (clothes, equipment,etc), sometimes brand new!! I learned that kids are going to ruin clothes for at least the first 4 years, so buying second-hand doesn't hurt your feelings as much when it happens. I love watching your journey through motherhood!

I tried so many aluminum free deodorants and none of them worked except for wild deodorant, my favorite is coconut and vanilla scent. Some people do say that it burnt their skin, likely the soda bicarbonate in it so just be cautious of that.

I had pregnancy insomnia in my third trimester and I had no idea it was a thing beforehand. It. Was. Rough. And personally, I felt that pregnancy tired didn’t compare to new born tired.
My friend is highly allergic to eggs and he’s found some awesome egg replacers to put into baked goods and other recipes.
You need a way for them to eat, sleep, clean up and move them around. It's all expensive!! Everything else is extras. First time parents always have way too much just because you want to have all the things. With my first it always seems like we were missing something. With my other 2, I shoved 2 diapers and wipes in my purse and walked out the door lmao.
Just curious . Does the milk from the chocolate in the smore's bother your lactose intolerance? I once worked with someone who couldn't drink milk but could eat ice cream with no problems.
Glad you didn't have to take the allergies test. I had to take i 3 times in grade school. So painful. I'm allergic to cats, dogs, trees, grass, dust, dirt, mold, rag weed, and pollen. No food allergies though. But mine was so bad, I had to get allergy shorts every Saturday for a few years. We would get donuts afterwards.

It is actually best to sleep on your left side when you are pregnant. It opens the flow through the umbilical cord better.
Try to find the “Abe’s” brand, “the vegan brownie”. It’s already baked and in a blue box. I found it at grocery outlet but maybe you can see where they sell Abe’s. Soooo good and you don’t even have to bake it haha their facility only has wheat and coconut, no other allergens

Clancy have you tried A2/A2 milk? I usually shop at Whole Foods and they have multiple brands (my favorite is Alexandre!) but I’m sure they have it at other stores. It’s supposed to be easier to digest than A1 milk (which is what people are usually drinking). I’m pregnant too and milk has been my biggest craving, so I hope this can be an option for you!!
your allergies/intolerances can change during/after pregnancy too. i was lactose intolerant prior to pregnancy and no longer am, but i am allergic to soy now and have raging eczema on only the right side of my body.

I try to avoid lactose. However, if I want something I will take a Lactaid pill. They do work except, in my opinion, on mozzarella. Do try them though.
Clancy I see you got hummus. Get the chocolate hummus at target with pretzels. It's not brownies but it taste like brownie batter. Even my kids love it! No nuts! Woo
