      I saw winger in concert in 1990 it was great. Everybody made fun of them back kind of but they were really a very talented band.

      Tuff stuff is really good stuff actually. The auto parts store I worked at in Florida was originally called discount Auto parts which was later bought out by advance like around 1997 or so. We used to clean everything with tuff stuff lol

      Hopefully before Christmas. I've been painting murals at the new Detwilers on 53rd which has taken up every bit of my last 3 months. I need to get this mobile mechanic over to try to get the motor running.

    I don't usually comment but when I do it's because I just inherited a 1986 Toyota Pick up from a buddy that just passed away suddenly. I just picked up the keys last week and I didn't know where to even begin until I stumbled upon the best rabbit hole in TH-cam history. But on a serious note, I've been searching TH-cam for tips about the 22R engine that's been sitting and body/ rust restoration because there's a ton of surface rust on my truck too. Your channel had everything I needed and with your sense of humor and your very "distinct " eye for detail you made me smile and laugh for the first time since my buddy gave me his truck. So coming from the land of Van Halen in sunny Pasadena California...I salute you good sir and wish you nothing but good luck with your hidden treasure of a channel! Oh and 5150 best song wasn't "Dreams" It's "Love walks in." Now off to get my slurpee holder!

      You have no idea how thrilled I am that I was able to help you with that project and possibly pay respects to your buddy. I am sorry for your loss but at the same time I'm glad that I was able to make you smile and laugh a little. I have always been a big Toyota truck lover since my dad had that one when I was a kid. Understand though the techniques that I use here are strictly to get the truck back on the road and usable which I feel is the most important aspect of these projects that I do. If you have any questions or issues in the future you can look up my Facebook page grease belly garage and message me through there if you would like. I used to work at a Toyota dealership when I was young so there's some other tips and tricks that I remember pretty well. And I truly appreciate your kind words, truly! It really does make my day. God bless you, Happy Easter, and my actual favorite song from 5150 is the song 5150! Pasadena is a beautiful place. Godspeed to your buddy!

      Thanks for your reply and I haven't even got started yet.! Your tutorials like the one you did with that toyota camper behemoth was classic gold! I know a lot of people will agree but it's doesn't matter what the content is. People watch you because like in Gladiator you can certainly entertain! Small details like the tracking lines and the FWD button in this video is awesome. And the way you paint your Fender and tripod at the same time is hilarious. I'll ltotally be looking for your fb page but I'm telling you, you'd be a millionaire selling ice in Alaska!

    Had a busy but fun Thanksgiving Holiday up here in Ga. Just got time last night to watch the entire video. It’s funny how most of the time I know what your going to do -- before you do it
    Tree - Apple. That’s an amazing little truck you should call it the 20’ Toyota.
    You have amazing talent ( tree) and apply your experience ( apple ) very well. Wish I had been there with ya. We could have doubled the time it took to film it , with my (tree) imput . Feels like Clark when all the “ little lights “ started twinkling!! Keep up the good work

      Thanks Dad. This one was a ton of work. Thank you for all the good times and the experience growing up tinkering with you! I hope the younger generations get some benefit out of this stuff. And yes this truck turned out very good. It's very nice. It's exactly like the one you had when I was a kid.

    That was a great video, my man! the truck came out great. The old Westley's bleache white was the best! when it was bought out by Black Magic, they must have changed the formula, because it doesn't seem to work as well anymore.

    I was gonna bust you out and say R134a wasnt out in the 80s, but you fooled me and put the good shit in it. Nothing cools like R12. I have a can from Kmart with a .69 sticker on it!

    • @greasebellygarage
      @greasebellygarage 5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Actually that's a deception, it has 134a in it. The cans of r-12 in the video are just on my shelf as collectibles. I can get 134a to work just as good these days.

      @@greasebellygarage the trick I found is to flush out all the old mineral oil. Some vehicles I've had to add an electric fan to.

      @@topher8634 I usually downsize a metering device if it's possible or just replace it if it's an expansion valve and then many times I just replace the condenser. This truck has a brand new compressor on it the AC actually works pretty good but I'm going to replace the condenser on it. The head pressure gets a little too high.

    • @topher8634
      @topher8634 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@greasebellygarage that is often the case. That's where flushing out the mineral oil will help some. It pools in the bottom of the condenser and because 134 doesn't move it, its effectively plugged. It doesn't always work and I've had to replace them too a long with the drier/accumulator and expansion valve/orifice tube
