If you can't find the Firelance after it falls from the sky, try having Dogmeat search for it in the area where it crash landed. He can also gather the ammo for you

It same happened to me. I found the ammo but not the Firelance itself. Therefore, I went to the Scrapyard and recruited Dogmeat, Dogmeat picked up the Firelance for me.
Just started replaying Fallout 3 again, and this is the fastest time to get Firelance, I found it exactly the same location in this video, as soon as I escaped from Vault 101. Nice job and thanks a lot.
I’ve had Fallout 3 since launch. 100% achievements, all add-ons, replay it every so often etc. I just got this weapon for the first time today. Never saw the random debris event and didn’t know it was a thing. Cool to replay a game for years and still find new things.
It just goes to show just how much there is to do in the Fallout games in general. I've been playing for decades myself and am still finding things either through accident or through other folks. The graphics may not hold up by today's standard but the complexity of the game is great even today.

I tried getting the firelance for hours from different methods I saw , watched this video and had it in 15 minutes!

i can’t believe this actually worked, i thought i might have already missed it as i’m 30 hours into the play through but then i tried reloading and walk over to the billboard and i got it, thank you so much

I don't feel like I have but then again I might have written off the explosion as a car exploding in the past or sum
@tonyallen829 Sadly it is super easy to miss. If you have felt lol you have seen the explosion and mistaken it for something else then you may have missed it. Also, there are ALOT of these random spawn points so chances are after 87 hours that you may have missed it.
All I did was save, kept fast traveling to Anchorage Memorial, reloading, and I got it within about half an hour. Super fast, super easy, super satisfying. Make sure you do it at night if you are like me and hate using companions in any game, makes the energy cells way easier to spot.
It definitely works. I only had 7 luck so it took me I would say about almost a half an hour of just loading back probably 20 or 30 times. So don’t give up, it will happen. I remember it took me upwards of a half hour at the anchorage memorial but yeah it’s way harder to find there. This a great location I found it immediately but I had dog meat just in case
I heard the explosion and saw the tail end of the clouds it left behind and then just ran found it on the ground on my way to the Pitt dlc, never knew about this weapon till now. I was already planning on this being single-handedly my best playthrough but this definitely made the entire playthrough.
Thanks for the video! I was walking on my way to the minefield when suddenly I saw that explosion and found the weapon with ammo laying around. I had no idea this was a thing, so I had to jump on TH-cam to see what just happened lol
Thanks so much for checking out my video. It's an amazing weapon, sadly the ammo is limited but it's one of the best weapons in the base game. It does a great deal of damage and with the right perks can even one or two shot a Deathclaw. But the ammo is limited so perhaps limit it to boss fights etc. Thanks again for checking out my video.
Another great place to get firelance is at the temple of the union. That place is great if you already played for hours (level 10+) and most random encounters spot already fills with other random encounters. You can check wiki for more detail.

I'm convinced that I must've triggered this event in most of my Fallout 3 playthroughs, but simply didn't notice it had occurred. Honestly it's kind of a annoying event in that regard. Nowadays I just do this at a guaranteed spot in the early game till I get it. Just to ensure that I don't miss it like I did on earlier play throughs. Not even to have an OP weapon early or anything like that.
The easiest way to get the Firelance is type A encounters which I have an easy guide save right before the anchorage memorial so what you need to do is walk up from wihelms warf save right as you pass the bridge before the memorial then walk forward and turn right and go up the stairs and there is a type A encounter as you go up the stairs to the memorial make sure too look at your compass and if you see anyone enemy/friend to reload because you got the wrong encounter it pretty consistent it took me 5 reloads and I got its also its crucial to save right as the explosion happens so you don't have to reload because it could clip though the ground or land on the memorial itself it's a really buggy incounter and it took me 10 mins to find it on the ground without Dogmeat but better than you missing it on your journey hope this helps "MO Exploit Mo Problems" 😂
Obviously most of us have been playing this game for years now. Today was the first time I've gotten the Firelance. I didn't even know it existed. I just stumbled across it on some cliff I was jumping around on. Super lucky. I'm sure I've seen that random event before in previous playthroughs but I never connected it to this weapon and ammo appearing. I just thought it was a stray missile or something.
Its an absolute solid weapon and it's pretty much the first weapon I get when I leave the Vault. I use it for tricky situations both early and late game.
If you have triggered the encounter but dont know where, you can go to every encounter area and look around for alien ammo. The gun spawns with a bunch of alien ammo scattered on the ground, so if you find alien ammo then the Firelance is somewhere on that floor!!(However its worth mentioning its first come first serve, so if you do in fact find the location and have taken a thorough top to bottom while investigating and are 100% sure its nowhere to be found, its possible a raider or other NPC has stumbled across the Firelance and has taken it! If thats the case then your sh!t out of luck😐)
Yeah that's right. In short this is very easy to miss and considering that it's the strongest weapon in the base game its worth hunting down if you think that you may have already encountered it.

This happened to me by the flooded metro but I didn’t find the firelance only the ammo so I kept walking and there were raiders near by and one of the raiders found the gun and killed me with it
Ouch yeah that can happen sadly. On the plus side if you find the raider and take the gun from him, chances are that he will also have some additional ammo on him.
I went to this spot hundreds of times, and this random encounter never happens. I've tried so many time. Every other random encounter happens. It's never the alien blaster. 😢
Got it on the 4th try, the firelance was floating in the air at shoulder length so i had no trouble sporting it. found 21 rounds for it as well, they are easier to see at night.
I never knew about the Firelance until today when I stumbled across it at Alexandria Arms. I saw these alien power cells laying around and was a bit confused at why this was happening so I looked it up and found out that it was a random encounter where a meteor appears and drops Firelance and alien power cells. At first I couldn't find Firelance after looking for it for about 10-15 minutes so I left the game and came back later and when I came back I found it laying on the road in front of Alexandria Arms. I remember seeing the meteor but I thought it was a missile being fired by a nearby enemy NPC so I didn't really think anything of it. I certainly never knew meteors were in the game lol. Of all the random encounters I've had in this game this was the best and most interesting encounter I've ever had.
It's a really cool encounter and better yet the weapon itself is the strongest in the game. Well the base game anyway. Be careful with the ammo as its pretty limited until you start playing the Mothership Zeta DLC.
W vid and you still replying to your comments to this day is crazy, I have Fallout new vegas with all add ons and fallout 3 with all adds on on my ps3 and this vid helped like a charm. Although i think FNV is better great vid!

I have over 3500 saves in this game and this is the only video that ever helped. Whoever is looking for this gun use only this location. If you think you have already triggered the scene before then you can try looking at the other locations (which is what i did) the other locations i tried were Super Duper Mart, Anchorage Memorial, West from the Nuka Cola Plant kind of near Andale, & Fort Bannister. I was mainly looking for the ammo when i did this. If the ammo is not at the other locations then focus primarily on this location. Just keep loading it actually didnt take me that long only like 50 reverts. First time i have ever got this gun Thank You! Things to keep in mind. Fort Bannister will always have the ammo there so that isnt really a relaible source. I would not try to look for this gun until you have dog meat. That is mainly why i looked in the other locations because i thought i already triggered it in game (which i didnt) and the higher your luck skill is the faster it will trigger.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I would personally take Dogmeat with you. He is great at sniffing out the weapon if it has spawned somewhere near you. This in general is super easy to miss. Many times you can mistake this for a random explosion.
Yeap, it's an easy one to miss and arguably the Firelance can be the most difficult weapon to get in the game because of how easy it can be to miss. So it goes to show that not many may know about this one.
Yeap. It's literally a weapon out of space so it's a cool idea. It's also the most powerful weapon in the game and there are no other places you can get any ammo. More like a trophy then a weapon. Thanks so much for checking out my video buddy.
@@yessir2033 Oh, apologies, that's a good point. In the base game you get the bulk of the ammo right next to the site where you find the Firelance. If you have the Mothership Zeta DLC then you can find some across the ship. Also, if you have the Borken Steel DLC then you can also find some in the Mobile Hanger. It's a really cool weapon and it's amazing how early you can find this weapon. You just need to do a little reloading and that's about it. It's practically the most power weapon in the base game and you can find it as the first weapon you collect as soon as you leave the vault.
Tried this reloading didn't change it at all reloaded 22 times same one with the 3 wastelanders search for Oasis kept popping up only enemies around changed like robots deathclaw so on reloaded it from megaton fast traveled and walked to it tried from Springdale and vault 101 and quit to menu and reloaded no change You think you could have added other event locations? It can spot around to help if this happens
I probably could have, there are around 32 locations that this can spawn in. In the absence of any video for the locations, you can go to the super duper mart, there is a spawn location just in front of it.
@@TrappedInFallout I found the easiest one so far behind megaton by that little rock area. Just past that broken bridge seems to work best. Only took me five tries
Its annoying that this can be missed, i recall playing a few days ago and i heard a few explosions, one of which was a car exploding after i fought some super mutants but didnt pay attention to the others, now im thinking it could have been that firelance, if i remember correctly it spawned in the d.c area in front of a subway station in my first playthrough and i saw the meteor and the gun drop it was awesome
Hey Joshua, your spot on as always. This is actually very easy to miss as you can put it off to a random explosion. Also, when the Firelance does drop it may have dropped on top of something making it very difficult to get. In addition when it does drop on the ground, it may be difficult to find. Furthermore, you also need to fish for the ammo which also drops at the same time..... However, it's one of the best weapons in the base game and the little frustrations above are totally worth it. It failed and landed outside of Bethesda Studios for me, and I kept getting killer by a raider who kept using it on me until I landed a critical hit on him with the hunter's rifle amd managed to get the fire lance.
Wow just imagine that situation. It would be pretty strange. Part of these event locations, even a Deathclaw can spawn so also imagine what that would have been like to. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.
i was doing moiras quest and going to the super duper mart and a random raider started shooting me with it almost killing me. do you know how that could happen? i just started the game
Chances are that the random a counter happened and the raider found the weapon on the ground as soon as it become hostile. This is actually a very rare yet likely event that can happen. I hope that you toke out the raider and then also toke the weapon.
@@TrappedInFallout yeah first thing i did out of the vault was operation anchorage for the power armor and then went to megaton and did moiras quest. he did a lot of damage but by using a lot of stimpacks and chems i was able to rush him with the generals sword
@@supahgaming8249 Good shout, the Operation Anchorage DLC is an absolute golden idea and doing that first will set up your very well for the rest of the game. Especially if you also perform the Gary glitch.
Mo, i noticed in one of my gameplay that on the top of reily's ranger HQ there is a door, bookshelves and three nuka cola machines i wonder if we can get up there.

When something feels that it can not be reach them there is a possibility that it is there for decoration purposes but at the same time I'm not entirely sure. It's totally random but I tend to get the weapon within about 5 tries, certainly no more around 10 I would say. If you don't get it within 10 then perhaps it has already happed for you.
@@TrappedInFallout that is the answer that I was personally looking for, because I literally spent an hour loading and reloading at the Anchorage Memorial and it never showed up for me, I don't know if that's because it already happened somewhere else or if I'm just that unlucky, but I'm going to start a new game and try this out. I wasn't really that far into my game anyways and REALLY want Firelance for my playthrough.

Yew, the ammo that is dropped alongside the weapon. You can get more but its a little tricky. The first is the Mothership DLC. That's easy. The tricky one is to throw your weapon on the floor and let a raider pick it up. Then take out the raider and search them and they should have generated some ammo on their body.
Yeap, it's a random event. If it's already happened then it won't happen again. But if you see it for the first time and don't get what you want then you can just reload and try again.

@@soloe8447 I'm.hsooy that you finally managed to get it. Now just imagine how frustrating it was for me to record the video. Everytime I actor the weapon I made so many verbal typos I had to start again lol. But it was totally worth it.
If you saw the explosion then the weapon must have landed somewhere around there. That said it is possible that it landed in an unreachable place. If you are able to then perhaps load a save and see if you can see the weapon. If not then I am afraid you may not be able to get it anymore. If your playing on PC then you can try console commands instead. Thanks for watching.
First time playing fallout 3 for the longest time and just encountered a guaranteed random encounter spot the first encounter was the firelance but it is stuck sadly (edit) I GOT IT I GOT IT LETS GO thanks to the dude that said use dogmeat
You can do this in any random area that has this random events. In this video I basically showed the area that was closet to Vault 101. There are many more scattered around the wasteland.
Your super lucky. This means it spawned somewhere near you which you may have missed. But then luckily a raider found the weapon, found you and attacked you.
Ouch, this is hands down one of the best weapons in the game. If you can go and get it then you should give that a try. Try taking Dogmeat with you and when your near the explosives area, ask him to find weapons. He may still find it for you.
Thankfully no, the Firelance is a base game weapon. You do not need to purchase any DLC in order to get this weapon. I hope this answers your question and many thanks for asking and watching my video.
Hi Chadx, thanks for your comment. This is a random event that can happen anytime but only at specific random spawn locations. If you have already seen this even then it won't happen anymore and you would need to restart the game. Per game, this will only happen the one time. I hope this helps.
@@chadxgaming2152 If you have seen the explosive happen recently then you may still be able to get the weapon. Go back to where it happened and the weapon might still be around. It's worth checking it out.

IVE HAD IT HAPPEN TO ME. I thought it was a glitch mortar strike and walked off, someone please tell me it’s still going to be there, I know exactly where it is
It's a tricky one to answer and I'm sure it's happened to so many others, it's happened to me certainly during my early years. If 72 hours have passed then there is a chance that the weapons might have despawned or worse an enemy NPC may have found the weapon and picked it up. So you need a little luck on your side and its hopefully there. Also take Dogmeat with you as he can be instructed to help find the weapon.
@@TrappedInFallout So, I found a map locating all possible event locations, and I ended up finding it near oasis haha. The actual weapon and ammo, it must of been just lying there for days.

I'm actually working on one for FNV where I am recording and editing all 42 hidden hollowed rock locations. I think I may do something similar for FO3 for all random event locations. @@TrappedInFallout yr video was awesome keep up the good work man 😃 I was about to explore deathclaw sanctuary and as i was approaching the entrance I heard the explosion above me and firelance landed 2 ft away from me. I do wish you could change the ammo to fusion cells like in fallout 4.

Nope, this works on any level - in the video I literally get this weapon at level 2 as soon as I left the Vault. I also was lucky enough to get this weapon on my 4th try with around enough cells.
Oh really, that's really interesting. Maybe the explosion happened near by and the Raider picked it up after which point you got it. Your actually pretty lucky as you may have never found it otherwise 😄.
The location where I show this in is a random even location. So when you go there for the first time, you may need to replenish save loads to find an event where the Alien Blaster loads up. If you want then you can take Dogmeat with you as he can dear h for the weapon and ammo.

That's actually a great point, doing this at night should make it easier to locate the ammo as they are likely to glow. Thanks for sharing that.

I heard the explosion and saw the tail end of the clouds it left behind and then just ran found it on the ground on my way to the Pitt dlc, never knew about this weapon till now. I was already planning on this being single-handedly my best playthrough but this definitely made the entire playthrough.
This is pretty much the strongest weapon in the base game. It's ammo is limited but it's worth having around.

Another great place to get firelance is at the temple of the union.
That place is great if you already played for hours (level 10+) and most random encounters spot already fills with other random encounters.

Its a very solid weapon, potentially the strongest weapon in the base game. Its also super random to find and therefore very easy to miss.
There's a random event guaranteed at Relay Tower KX-B8-11. That's where it happened for me!

I'm convinced that I must've triggered this event in most of my Fallout 3 playthroughs, but simply didn't notice it had occurred. Honestly it's kind of a annoying event in that regard. Nowadays I just do this at a guaranteed spot in the early game till I get it. Just to ensure that I don't miss it like I did on earlier play throughs. Not even to have an OP weapon early or anything like that.
I know the feeling, it's more from an almost checklist point of view. Just to make sure that you have it and have not missed it.
The easiest way to get the Firelance is type A encounters which I have an easy guide save right before the anchorage memorial so what you need to do is walk up from wihelms warf save right as you pass the bridge before the memorial then walk forward and turn right and go up the stairs and there is a type A encounter as you go up the stairs to the memorial make sure too look at your compass and if you see anyone enemy/friend to reload because you got the wrong encounter it pretty consistent it took me 5 reloads and I got its also its crucial to save right as the explosion happens so you don't have to reload because it could clip though the ground or land on the memorial itself it's a really buggy incounter and it took me 10 mins to find it on the ground without Dogmeat but better than you missing it on your journey hope this helps "MO Exploit Mo Problems" 😂

Obviously most of us have been playing this game for years now. Today was the first time I've gotten the Firelance. I didn't even know it existed. I just stumbled across it on some cliff I was jumping around on. Super lucky. I'm sure I've seen that random event before in previous playthroughs but I never connected it to this weapon and ammo appearing. I just thought it was a stray missile or something.
Its an absolute solid weapon and it's pretty much the first weapon I get when I leave the Vault. I use it for tricky situations both early and late game.
If you have triggered the encounter but dont know where, you can go to every encounter area and look around for alien ammo. The gun spawns with a bunch of alien ammo scattered on the ground, so if you find alien ammo then the Firelance is somewhere on that floor!!(However its worth mentioning its first come first serve, so if you do in fact find the location and have taken a thorough top to bottom while investigating and are 100% sure its nowhere to be found, its possible a raider or other NPC has stumbled across the Firelance and has taken it! If thats the case then your sh!t out of luck😐)
Yeah that's right. In short this is very easy to miss and considering that it's the strongest weapon in the base game its worth hunting down if you think that you may have already encountered it.

This happened to me by the flooded metro but I didn’t find the firelance only the ammo so I kept walking and there were raiders near by and one of the raiders found the gun and killed me with it
Ouch yeah that can happen sadly. On the plus side if you find the raider and take the gun from him, chances are that he will also have some additional ammo on him.
I went to this spot hundreds of times, and this random encounter never happens. I've tried so many time. Every other random encounter happens. It's never the alien blaster. 😢
Sadly it's all down to luck and not something that is certain to happen. You can try this at the other random locations instead and see if that helps.
The thing actually just crashed out of the sky while I was watching this. Just got it on level 2. let's f-ing go.

Got it on the 4th try, the firelance was floating in the air at shoulder length so i had no trouble sporting it. found 21 rounds for it as well, they are easier to see at night.

I never knew about the Firelance until today when I stumbled across it at Alexandria Arms. I saw these alien power cells laying around and was a bit confused at why this was happening so I looked it up and found out that it was a random encounter where a meteor appears and drops Firelance and alien power cells. At first I couldn't find Firelance after looking for it for about 10-15 minutes so I left the game and came back later and when I came back I found it laying on the road in front of Alexandria Arms. I remember seeing the meteor but I thought it was a missile being fired by a nearby enemy NPC so I didn't really think anything of it. I certainly never knew meteors were in the game lol. Of all the random encounters I've had in this game this was the best and most interesting encounter I've ever had.
It's a really cool encounter and better yet the weapon itself is the strongest in the game. Well the base game anyway. Be careful with the ammo as its pretty limited until you start playing the Mothership Zeta DLC.

I have over 3500 saves in this game and this is the only video that ever helped. Whoever is looking for this gun use only this location. If you think you have already triggered the scene before then you can try looking at the other locations (which is what i did)
the other locations i tried were Super Duper Mart, Anchorage Memorial, West from the Nuka Cola Plant kind of near Andale, & Fort Bannister.
I was mainly looking for the ammo when i did this. If the ammo is not at the other locations then focus primarily on this location. Just keep loading it actually didnt take me that long only like 50 reverts. First time i have ever got this gun Thank You!
Things to keep in mind. Fort Bannister will always have the ammo there so that isnt really a relaible source. I would not try to look for this gun until you have dog meat. That is mainly why i looked in the other locations because i thought i already triggered it in game (which i didnt) and the higher your luck skill is the faster it will trigger.

This in general is super easy to miss. Many times you can mistake this for a random explosion.

If you have the Mothership Zeta DLC then you can find some across the ship. Also, if you have the Borken Steel DLC then you can also find some in the Mobile Hanger. It's a really cool weapon and it's amazing how early you can find this weapon. You just need to do a little reloading and that's about it. It's practically the most power weapon in the base game and you can find it as the first weapon you collect as soon as you leave the vault.
Tried this reloading didn't change it at all reloaded 22 times same one with the 3 wastelanders search for Oasis kept popping up only enemies around changed like robots deathclaw so on reloaded it from megaton fast traveled and walked to it tried from Springdale and vault 101 and quit to menu and reloaded no change You think you could have added other event locations? It can spot around to help if this happens
I probably could have, there are around 32 locations that this can spawn in. In the absence of any video for the locations, you can go to the super duper mart, there is a spawn location just in front of it.
@@TrappedInFallout I found the easiest one so far behind megaton by that little rock area. Just past that broken bridge seems to work best. Only took me five tries
Its annoying that this can be missed, i recall playing a few days ago and i heard a few explosions, one of which was a car exploding after i fought some super mutants but didnt pay attention to the others, now im thinking it could have been that firelance, if i remember correctly it spawned in the d.c area in front of a subway station in my first playthrough and i saw the meteor and the gun drop it was awesome
Hey Joshua, your spot on as always. This is actually very easy to miss as you can put it off to a random explosion. Also, when the Firelance does drop it may have dropped on top of something making it very difficult to get. In addition when it does drop on the ground, it may be difficult to find. Furthermore, you also need to fish for the ammo which also drops at the same time.....
However, it's one of the best weapons in the base game and the little frustrations above are totally worth it. Thanks so much Joshua for checking out one of my more earlier vidoes, I was still finding my feet back then, in some sense I still am. Appreciate mate.

No, I don't think so. There are no other random weapon spawns as such. All others appear at fixed locations, as far as I can remember anyway.

It failed and landed outside of Bethesda Studios for me, and I kept getting killer by a raider who kept using it on me until I landed a critical hit on him with the hunter's rifle amd managed to get the fire lance.

i was doing moiras quest and going to the super duper mart and a random raider started shooting me with it almost killing me. do you know how that could happen? i just started the game
Chances are that the random a counter happened and the raider found the weapon on the ground as soon as it become hostile. This is actually a very rare yet likely event that can happen. I hope that you toke out the raider and then also toke the weapon.
@@TrappedInFallout yeah first thing i did out of the vault was operation anchorage for the power armor and then went to megaton and did moiras quest. he did a lot of damage but by using a lot of stimpacks and chems i was able to rush him with the generals sword
@@supahgaming8249 Good shout, the Operation Anchorage DLC is an absolute golden idea and doing that first will set up your very well for the rest of the game. Especially if you also perform the Gary glitch.

When something feels that it can not be reach them there is a possibility that it is there for decoration purposes but at the same time I'm not entirely sure. How much should i try before i should consider i triggered the event already ?
It's totally random but I tend to get the weapon within about 5 tries, certainly no more around 10 I would say. If you don't get it within 10 then perhaps it has already happed for you.
@@TrappedInFallout that is the answer that I was personally looking for, because I literally spent an hour loading and reloading at the Anchorage Memorial and it never showed up for me, I don't know if that's because it already happened somewhere else or if I'm just that unlucky, but I'm going to start a new game and try this out. I wasn't really that far into my game anyways and REALLY want Firelance for my playthrough.

Yew, the ammo that is dropped alongside the weapon. You can get more but its a little tricky. The first is the Mothership DLC. That's easy. The tricky one is to throw your weapon on the floor and let a raider pick it up. Then take out the raider and search them and they should have generated some ammo on their body.

Yeap, it's a random event. If it's already happened then it won't happen again. But if you see it for the first time and don't get what you want then you can just reload and try again.

If you saw the explosion then the weapon must have landed somewhere around there. That said it is possible that it landed in an unreachable place. If you are able to then perhaps load a save and see if you can see the weapon. If not then I am afraid you may not be able to get it anymore. You can do this in any random area that has this random events. In this video I basically showed the area that was closet to Vault 101. There are many more scattered around the wasteland.

Your super lucky. This means it spawned somewhere near you which you may have missed. But then luckily a raider found the weapon, found you and attacked you.

It's crazy powerful. Chances are there was a random encounter and one of the Raiders picked up the weapon. Their find, your gain ha ha.

Ouch, this is hands down one of the best weapons in the game. If you can go and get it then you should give that a try. Try taking Dogmeat with you and when your near the explosives area, ask him to find weapons. He may still find it for you.

IVE HAD IT HAPPEN TO ME. I thought it was a glitch mortar strike and walked off, someone please tell me it’s still going to be there, I know exactly where it is
It's a tricky one to answer and I'm sure it's happened to so many others, it's happened to me certainly during my early years. If 72 hours have passed then there is a chance that the weapons might have despawned or worse an enemy NPC may have found the weapon and picked it up. So you need a little luck on your side and its hopefully there. Also take Dogmeat with you as he can be instructed to help find the weapon.

The actual weapon and ammo, it must of been just lying there for days.

I was about to explore deathclaw sanctuary and as i was approaching the entrance I heard the explosion above me and firelance landed 2 ft away from me.
I do wish you could change the ammo to fusion cells like in fallout 4.

Nope, this works on any level - in the video I literally get this weapon at level 2 as soon as I left the Vault. I also was lucky enough to get this weapon on my 4th try with around enough cells.

The location where I show this in is a random even location. So when you go there for the first time, you may need to replenish save loads to find an event where the Alien Blaster loads up. If you want then you can take Dogmeat with you as he can dear h for the weapon and ammo.
