This was so great!! And I was both amused and all, "ooh! Ooh! I know this one" when Nino was asking about why the American Midwest has the serial killers it's had over the years. I'm a Midwesterner myself, and I feel like it boils down into two things: 1: There's a streak of really chilly conservatism in this part of the country, which can be isolating if you're unusual. It also makes it really easy to hide what you're doing. 2: The culture makes it really easy for strict, abusive parents to be their worst selves without a lot of blowback from the community, so it causes *lots* of early damage that never gets fixed. We've been trying hard to do better about that stuff, but it's an uphill climb. Hotdish can't fix everything, don'tcha know.
(Fun fact: I'm friends with someone who's great uncle and second cousins were the police who arrested Ed Gein. They lived in Plainfield too, knew Eddie, and were pretty traumatized by the whole horrible situation. My friend ended up writing a paper about it in college, interviewing her family members.)
To me, liking the smell of blood is under the same umbrella as liking the smell of gasoline or campfire smoke, etc. Yeah, it's probably not common, but it's not weird.
I like the smell and taste, but I can totally see how that would be weird as heck. It freaks people out when I tell them that the taste of my own blood didn't disgust me.
maru was one of my first choices of romance. but at the time, i thought i was straight soooooooo- edit: fun fact :D ! pigs have been known to anything that will fit in their mouths, including small animals and sadly, trash thats left too close to their sties

Why aren't there more run down buildings on your farm? Think about it, your house is minorly ran down and there is the greenhouse that's in shambles but shouldn't there be at least a coop and barn too? Just need to fix them up at a reduced building cost at first.
