Korean Street Snack at Home: Spicy So-Dduk (Pan fried Sausage& Rice Cake)

  • Ingredients
    1 pack dduk (rice cake)
    1 pack mini sausages (frozen or non-frozen)
    2&1/2 tbsp gochujang
    3 tbsp oligo syrup or corn syrup or sugar
    1 tsp soy sauce
    1/2 tsp garlic puree or minced
    neutral oil (as needed)
    sesame seeds (optional for garnish)
    Directions
    1) Soak dduk in water for 15 minutes to soften
    2) If sausages are frozen rinse them under water, removing any freezer burn
    3) In a small bowl add the gochujang, syrup, soy sauce, garlic and give it a good mix. Put it to the side
    4) On a skillet on medium to high heat, add oil and cook the sausages for 2-3 minutes until slightly golden
    5) Add in dduk and toss the dduk and sausages and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the dduk is bouncy and soft
    6) Once the dduk is bouncy add in the sauce and mix to combine thoroughly cooking for another 2-3 minutes until the dduk and sausages are golden brown and slightly blistered
    7) Plate and serve with an option of sesame seeds for garnish
