Thanks. Feel's like class room training and very simple and clearly explained. Touched many commands and the final result comes with good spools drawing sheets.
I have the issue at 0:39. However my SolidWorks routing add-in is checked and active... Any idea why that is? I can't even start my route because of that... Thank you
i have one question my design library don't have this much flange design only sorf and sown flanges are available how can I access these blind flanges for my project
They are included with Solidworks Premium Licenses, you should see them automatically in your “Design Library outing”. I don’t know of any location online where you can get them. Some you may be able to extract from the Solidworks Training Files for Routing - All SOLIDWORKS Training Files | Training Files | SOLIDWORKS Hope this helps!!
Sorry, but no… Routing functionality will only be available in the SOLIDWORKS Premium license. Here is a link to the CAD Matrix - www.goengineer.com/solidworks/3d-cad#matrix
Please help. I have problem adding Solidworks Routing. Templates cannot be created in the present location. I know what the locations of my two templates are. I tried the two. But still no. Thanks.
There is not a really good way to do that with only SOLIDWORKS Routing on it’s own, this is one of the reason they introduced the SOLIDWORKS Electrical suite of products. This way you can create a schematic P&ID, and then in Electrical 3D (SOLIDWORKS Add-In), you can connect to the same Project and Route the P&ID with all of the corresponding ID’s. There are also some 3rd party apps like Smap3D and SolidPlant3D.
Hey Parvati, after you place the part sometimes the triad will show up like it did in the video. However, if it does not, you can right click the part and select "Move with Triad" this will allow you to move the part the same way as was done in the video
Hope I find a piping project to using this tool!! how much it can be easy!! THANK YOU SOLID WORKS!! I recommend it for every one to destroying of every day life stresses its really will works! just do piping! Also Thank you Go Engineer!
When I save the 6." flange in assembly mode it converts to metric. When I try to dimension everything its mm not inches. But I save everything in inches. Just at the point of saving the flange in assembly, it goes back to mm? Can you help? Thanks
I do not believe that design is in the default library. However you can create one and add it into the routing library with the routing component wizard.
You would have to create a valve assembly, and then configurations to show the valve in an opened or closed state. Take a look at this video, and start at time: 14:12 - th-cam.com/video/AvwhnLLEkhg/w-d-xo.html
Excellent tutorial. It appears Solid Works runs great on your machine. When I enter the design library it takes ages to load. Care to share your PC specs?
Hi Mike, We run Dell machines exclusively, NVidia Quadro graphics cards, 3.0+ GHz CPUs, and 16-32 GB of RAM. We find that slowness specifically with the Design Library sources back to where the Design Library is stored. If it is on a network drive it will load much slower than local storage.
Thanks. Great tips on both sides, model and prints. I learned a lot. I may have an interview soon for just this type of work and this helps me a lot. I will need more practice as I grow in this area. I will be practicinf=g and watching for more of your videos. Thanks James
I would use one of the existing flanges in the Library and Copy it, then modify the dimensions in the table to meet the E flange specs. Once the part is ready run it through the Routing Component Wizard (SOLIDWORKS - Routing Component Wizard - th-cam.com/video/p0lECUdJ2oI/w-d-xo.html) . Then it will be in your library and ready to use!!
Hi Luis, Additional components have been added to the library beyond the default routing library. This is why you see additional options in this video.
I have some problem as in video bends appear as yellow but I have red but tee and other stuff borrow from library appers yellow and after I exit it the red one disappears in the final output. Can you tell me solution of it?
Hi Ashok, If the radius of the bend does not equal the bend radius of the default elbow that was selected (@1:36 minutes in video), then the system will not be able to place the correct elbow on the route. I’m guessing you are using a custom elbow. You may need to make sure you use the Routing Library to add your elbow to the library with all of the needed sketches, attributes, and C-Points. If this does not fix your issue then we would encourage you to contact your local Technical Support company to open an investigation for a fix. You can find out who that is from the link below: www.solidworks.com/sw/purchase/varlocator.htm
Thanks. Feel's like class room training and very simple and clearly explained. Touched many commands and the final result comes with good spools drawing sheets.
This tutorial should cost money. Very well done!
what you press here to show the part before drop it in 0:53
I do hear a key being pressed there but you should not have to press anything, just drag the parts in from the library.
I have the issue at 0:39. However my SolidWorks routing add-in is checked and active... Any idea why that is? I can't even start my route because of that... Thank you
Please specify the you have to start in an assembly mode.
You've made my day. Thank you sir.
Can you have a weldment that you the switch to using round tube and have it insert elbows that get called out as elbows in the cut list?
You saved me
Btw you can also use your own library if you customized your pieces while you were trying to do this flange by flange T_T
Thanks a lot!
Thanks for your comment, we are always working on improving the SOLIDWORKS experience for everyone!
This is quality material guys..

It is included with Solidworks Premium!! It gets installed when the Routing option is checked upon install.

Please help. I have problem adding Solidworks Routing. Templates cannot be created in the present location. I know what the locations of my two templates are. I tried the two. But still no. Thanks.
I face problem in route properties, i.e some templates are not present?
Can anyone resolve this problem if u faced?
what if I want to connect parts that i made to the pipe assembly?
For assistance, please contact our tech support team at goengineer.com/contact
We have to number every connection. Flance , treaded, welds and so. how can you do that?

How to change pipe wide

I still won't adjust the angle of the parts. and I don't know how to turn on the gyroscope.

Great explanation but i want to know how to design header in piping.

I dont have this design library .. :/
How to close/open the valve?
You would have to create a valve assembly, and then configurations to show the valve in an opened or closed state. Take a look at this video, and start at time: 14:12 - th-cam.com/video/AvwhnLLEkhg/w-d-xo.html

Hi There
could you please advice me how to update design library with table E flange and other components with same flange configarations. .
thanks.

Why your library has a lot more components than mine?
Hi Luis,
Additional components have been added to the library beyond the default routing library. This is why you see additional options in this video.
Thank you!!!
Thanks a lot it is very helpful
