I loved Longlegs. I felt that casting Nicolas Cage as 'Longlegs' was a great choice because he simultaneously managed to be creepy and funny as the pathetic serial killer villain. In every line of dialogue, Longlegs alludes to crucial details regarding his intentions. *Spoiler* As for the twist in the third act, regarding Harker's mother, I think it makes a lot of sense because beforehand Harker speculated that Longlegs has an accomplice who was able to build trust with the murdered families (which Longlegs was incapable of doing because of his creepy demeanor). Plus, in the interrogation scene, Longlegs admitted that Harker's mother wasn't the first single mother he targeted.
Dude. Horror is all I watch. I was so hype for this movie. By the end, I was mad. Moreso because what you said is true: it’s not a bad movie. It had potential, and I was pretty invested until the last third of the movie. There are parts, also, that don’t necessarily add up, and Oz Perkins did an AMA where people asked about those parts, and he basically said, “It’s a movie, it doesn’t have to make sense.” Um. What?
Nicolas Caige looks like an old Jon Voight in this movie. I hope I didn't offend Jon Voight. I'm not sure why so many people compare Longlegs to Silence of the Lambs. It's much closer to Kiyoshi Kurosawa's Cure (1997), which is a better and more focused movie than Longlegs.
Haven’t seen Cure! Silence of the Lambs is more engrained in American pop culture so that’s why it’s pulled as a stand out reference but I’ll have to check out Cure!!
@@ScaredPale Yeah, I guess so. Cure is more close to Se7en, but since it's Japanese, it's slow but so creepy. It not a horror movie though, as I see many say it is. That's plain wrong. It's more a psychological crime thriller, like Se7en. The director's most known movie in the west is Kairo aka Pulse. I guess you have heard about it? They made a American remake of it with Kristen Bell in the lead role, and it was garbage. It was like spitting in the face of the original script. We go from Albert Einstein to Beavis & Butt-Head. 🤣

charming review. have a great day.
Damn 6 minutes ago? 💪
This movie bored me
Yeah honestly this was the worst movie going experience I’ve had in a while. Nicholas Cage made me laugh though, so that was somewhat interesting lol
over rated poooopy movie
I saw it in the theater several weeks ago. It was pretty decent. Isn't Maika Monroe awesome? I'll watch anything she is in. Hi, Syd!
Yes the acting was pretty great!
@@ScaredPale Maika was born to be in horror films, I think. BTW, when are you gonna let me compost a short horror music theme for your channel?

I did see the Pulse remake when it came out but haven’t revisited it since 😂
@@ScaredPale The most scary part is that they have made two sequels. Not going to touch those ones.🤣
