It's a MONSTER opening cinematic for a game IMO. I always thought it was very thought-out, you can't help but feel drawn in. You can tell from the start the main protagonist is just a boss. Rolling, chucking a grenade into the room, the robot goes boom, is dying, protagonist stands over it, BOOM muzzle flash, opening title.Still gives me goosebumps when I play on DOS box.
This was one of my favorite PC games as a kid. Man do I miss PC gaming in the mid to late 90s. This game had style, action packed gameplay, an incredible soundtrack, priceless cut scenes, an engaging story and amazing artwork.
@MOCoutinho I think i could see how to get round that. Three or so options. Slow motion acrobatic moves, such as rolls; When rolling out from cover you have bullet time in first person for the duration of the roll. Try and make it an awesome feature, like the slides in Far-cry 2. Have context sensitive third person mode: Switch to first person the moment you draw your weapon. Third person when you want to jump from platform to platform over a pool of goop. That kinda thing.
I just realized how nice it was for the Silencer to duck out of the way wihtout moving his commander in the process or warning them altogether before getting lit up. Ah well, these games were the shit back then, but now its time to make a remake and turn it into a FPS adventure like DeusEx or Fallout.
Don't know if you know man, but there is a little site called GOG.com. They format and sell old pc games to use on today's machines. The games actually run pretty well for the most part and most wikis like pcgamingwiki usually have ways of fixing most issues. -SBM
They should make a new Crusader just like they did for Duke Nukem and Syndicate among other games. I loved how graphic this game was. Much like the better games back in that time like "Loaded" and "Twisted Metal".
lol, I completely forgot. How the hell I managed that, I have no idea. It's even an option on D-Fend. I was refering to the cut scenes specifically. Thanks for the reminder :)
If you want to play this game on Windows, head over to gog.com. They will be releasing this game sometime this month, price will be $5.99. Gog.com sells older games that are compatible with Windows. Everything is legit as the company gets the license to sells these games from the company that owns them.
one of the best games i ever played. forgett all this new games with super gfx crap =P this game was just pure fun, the gameplay and the story were awesome! hope we finally get a 3rd part :(
Does anyone know how to get this running on XP or above? I just dug out my copies (The Resistance Manual is funny as hell now, lol) and have been trying to get it up and running for almost 2 days with no progress :\ Neuromancer didn't give me this much trouble!
Actually, I'd love to see it as a first person like in System Shock in spite of the difficulties regarding to the movements of the character. I can't imagine how those rolls would look like in a FP game, lol
I rebuilt my old K6-300 PC JUST so I could play Crusader: No Remorse. Now I can play it in DosBox, using a burned ISO image of my game disk. It plays just fine on my Core2 Quad 2.5 ghz Win 7 PC. :D
He he he, that's right. There were really some outstanding weapons like the freezer and that other one that started to skin you off and then the flesh and in the end only the bones left. Really very nasty.
My dad bought this game when I was younger. I loved to play it and I thought Crusader was the coolest. Exspecialy when he blows up the robot with the grenade then shoots him.
loved the crusader games but really the Silencer was just another silent main char, the master chief he actualy talked so he kinda had a personality so he sorta wins out, even tho the Silencer is a cool concept
Forget Wing Commander, should've been Crusader : The Movie. Would've rocked you senseless! And I dare say, I think Tony Zurovek would've been just as good a producer/director as Chris Roberts.
I recall finishing this on the SNES, my most fond gaming memories are of this game and I'm almost ashamed to admit I never played Crusader - No Regret, in fact I had no idea it existed until yesterday but I will download them both from GOG.com and get back to fighting the good fight with my silent protagonist. See you all at the top of the corporate ladder, don't mind the blood when you arrive. >:D
This is a fantastic game, part of my childhood. I need to get a copy of this game and complete this and no regret again!

Man, after all these years I remember all the dialogue from the introduction!

I always loved the theme song. The one that plays on the main menue.
Classic cyberpunk action! The overall atmosphere reminds me of oldskool sci-fi action films which still had some adult content and satire in them.
Ah, yes, the 'pick-ya-bones-clean'. Second only to the faulty teleporter in terms of graphic and presumably painful death. The latter melted you.

Damn, didn't think this oldie would be posted. Thanks for sharing.
Oldie comment
Oh man I loved playing both this game and No Regret. Classics both of them.
best intro EVER
holy shit this game was fucking awesome
This game ruled. I still have the CD somewhere; dug it up recently, but forgot where I put it. Now I gotta find it!
Ah, the nostalgia :')
we need Crusader No Remorse movie : )
great music!
This reminds me of the peek of gaming, back in the days of Mech Warrior 2, when shareware was the best thing since sliced bread.

I loved both this game and No Regret both were freakin sweet
The names of the 2 silencers that get killed.
Anton Zurovek
Marcus Vittek
Nice reference to the producers of the game.
You are so right!!
They should make a new Crusader just like they did for Duke Nukem and Syndicate among other games.
I loved how graphic this game was. Much like the better games back in that time like "Loaded" and "Twisted Metal".
This and the other Crusader games had some of the greatest (and meanest) ways to kill.
lol, I completely forgot. How the hell I managed that, I have no idea. It's even an option on D-Fend.
I was refering to the cut scenes specifically. Thanks for the reminder :)
Crusader: No Remorse, Crusader: No Regret, and Crusader: No Refunds!
1:51 So badass. I loved how they showed him taking out the robot even as a kid playing this.
man this game was sweet. new game now!
this wouldve been a great game but i couldnt get it to work on my computer. and that was almost a decade ago

We--I--need a REMAKE!!!
apparently this game series is connected to wing commander and system shock o.0
ich könnte weinen :'(
remember old good days. I love this game
@matthubing hehe i had that problem too but bootdisks made other games work too
Vittek went on to become Master Chief in Halo, and as a result the humans could never win....
one of the best games i ever played.
forgett all this new games with super gfx crap =P

@admiraldma Try DOSBox
Yeah, noticed that last time I played the game. Some comrade in arms....
@Ceranimis
I'd love to see Crusader as FPS. The problem would be the rolls but it could be funny.
I rebuilt my old K6-300 PC JUST so I could play Crusader: No Remorse.

So many ways to kill your enemy. Loads of fun melting them, vaporizing them, blowing them to chunks...etc.
@admiraldma DOSBox man!
why can't you run it on your newer PC? DOSBOX is wonderful....
The two silencers that are with the protagonist are the ones speaking.
He he he, that's right. There were really some outstanding weapons like the freezer and that other one that started to skin you off and then the flesh and in the end only the bones left. Really very nasty.
hey guys I uploaded the Total Mayhem Soundtrack onto youtube!
Anybody else notice how similar the opening to this game is similar to Fade to Black?

I think they should make action movie based on Crusader:No Remorse.
Huh, I've always thought it was the guy on the right who says that. It sounds like his voice, to me at least.
Thumbs up if you want to see Crusader make a come back on Kickstarter
Forget Wing Commander, should've been Crusader : The Movie.

+Duke Nukem Hey, Duke Nukem, are you sure Crusader was on the SNES? I can only find it ever being released on Sega Saturn and PlayStation.
The best PS game EVER!
i think crusader is a pretty cool guy. eh melts corporate cops and doesnt afraid of anything.
Gordon made it with a crowbar... while Silencer used horrible guns to shatter, broil, vaporize and burn his enemies.
@admiraldma Get DosBox
This game has higher quality substance than most of the shit today...too bad this was only for DOS though!
Forgot that robot looked like ED-209 lol
Its one of my absolute favorites... beneath Fallout 2... games of today just suck... and I'm just 20 years old :-D
More games need spider bombs.
much like...gordon freeman no? :P
