"We need to fight back as one! Fight back!" Larry's words ring true today. We need to fight back as one over the inequalities and disparities we are all facing during these uncertain times. We need to unite, putting petty differences aside. We need to ensure that basic human rights and civil liberties are garunteed for all, not just the wealthiest and the elite! Thank you Larry, you will not be forgotten!

What I loved most about Larry Kramer was his anger. It never abated and was always directed at the appropriate targets.

Thank you Larry for it all, your power, vigor, disdain with what is - leading to power that is imaginable for those cast as dead.

ACTUP was effective through a good cop/bad cop strategy. What people don’t realize is that for every shocking protest, there were hours of boring policy meetings and lobbying officials. Neither is effective without the other. You absolutely need people like Larry.
If we could pass on one thing to the younger generation of activists, it’s this. True patriot.🎖

Charles, I appreciate your sentiment and understand the meaning. So I'm sure you understand that I'm not speaking from assumption. I held my mother in my arms while she left this world and for the first time met her father. He was sacrificed in WWII, days before her birth. I'm so very thankful she didn't have to see her grandchildren offered up to the same fate. I'm also absolutely aware that I'm alive this day because of the courage and actions of Larry and so many others who stood up to the establishment. These passings are painful for those of us who were there especially in light of where we seem to be going. I do know the difference. Using a deadly contagion against the disenfranchised is sadly in the same playbook. Just like watching the police to be judge, jury and executioner in our streets. I hope I've explained my view, It's not intended as a challenge to your response. I wish you 🤟&✌️🏳️‍🌈➕

You can say he was negative sometime. You could, alternately, say he had the courage to look straight into it, AND KEEP FIGHTING ANYWAY. RESPECT.

There many of us that put our bodies on the line in the 1980's and 90's. There were rooms full of people in ACT UP chapters around the country and the world. Greg is right to say that we should not forget all of those people. They were the heart and soul of the organization. There was a small group of mostly white men that received the recognition for work we all did but it was much more than that small group. Never forget.

I've never seen Larry actually say that he loved Anthony Fauci. He always roasted Fauci, but Fauci says in interviews after Kramer's death, that the two men loved each other. Fauci seems to have always been a psychopath. I agree with Kramer's 1988 assessment of him. I appreciate Larry's passion and rage over the issues. RIP, dude.

You kids are such fighters today. Every day I go over the long list of Americans who were arrested protesting the American Immigrant camps. You can talk a lot, however.

Who do you think make change? People who are polite? No! People who are loud and "obnoxious" and pushy. Not people who are more worried about how they look than whether or not they actually make any change.

Hiv Aids affect straight people also.very little is heard about that fact!

    • @Francisco_420
      @Francisco_420 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

And why it that? Is it bc nobody listens to "straight" ppl with HIV? Who is stopping them from speaking up? Looks to me like gay ppl like Mr. Kramer had the internal fortitude to organize and fight for respect and treatment they needed to live. And just to be clear, ALL ppl with HIV benefited from the sacrifices these gay activists. So I really don't understand your point.

Your comment is exactly what Larry Kramers speech and lifes work was about , that people like you obviously think religion would change his life because being gay is a sin ? Shame on you for leaving your veiled message of non acceptance.

This man didn't need to be a bible thumper ... he embodied jesus's own teachings. So ask yourself if you know jesus. Your remark implies you don't.

I'm not a bible thumper....but I do my best to have a understanding of God through His word.
he embodied the teachings of jesus??
can you share with me which ones those were??
there are several that are out of sync on its face but I am willing to hear your perspective on the matter.

@ I do not believe in the Bible as it was written and rewritten so many times and all "it" and any other religion has caused humankind is war and oppression. I choose to think for myself and live a good life as in cause and affect. Religions are poisonous and full of contradictions.
