I've not used it as fertilizer, but I'm so glad to know other ways to use it than just medicinally. I'm definitely going to start sharing it with my other plants now.
I love our comfrey but I'm so glad I did my research and got the sterile bocking 14 variety and planted it somewhere that I knew it would be forever. 😆 once the tap roots got established, I never had to care for it again, lol. Great video on uses too!
Gardening is worthy but depends the location and area,,tropical like my hometown,,yes it is! But Here ,it’s weather climate difficult /problem … GoodLuck ,regards from Egypt 😊

Thanks so much for this video. I planted comfrey for the first time this spring and it's made it through our hot South Carolina summer, but I wouldn't say it's thrived yet. Hoping to see more growth next year and I'll try to harvest it and make the dried application you demonstrated. I bought it specifically to help my other plants or to use as mulch, so your info was totally what I needed!
I’m so happy to hear that the video was helpful. I’ve been amazed to discover how resilient this plant is, and I think you’ll find the same once yours gets going. I was able to used dried comfrey for planting out my grow bags this spring, and this fall batch will provide comfrey tea for my fruit trees. I wish you lots of success using it in your garden too!
I couldn’t have said it better! I’ve given up at this point and am using that part of the garden for experimentation, pollinators plants, and composting. No point in fighting Mother Nature.
Comfrey is impossible to get rid of once it’s established. I literally had a brick wall built on one of my plants and i guess the roots were still down there because it grew back.
That’s incredible. It’s amazing how resilient it is. I divided some out last spring. It died during the summer drought and didn’t grow back this spring. I thought aha! I found a way to kill comfrey. As if to prove me wrong, it began to regrow in mid July during another drought. In light of that, I’m not surprised it withstood your brick wall!
I have a simple solution to weeds/ problem plants, a quarter inch flat artist brush, and a small shot glass of weedkiller containing Glyphosate , I paint 1 single leaf on each plant I want to eradicate, my impact on the ecosystem around me is negligible, I have a tiny garden so have zero need to be walking around with a sprayer/ boom sprayer or a bi-plane as used in an agricultural setting, weeds gone, problem plants gone, it's a systematic weedkiller, roots et al eliminated
Hi Jimbo. Thanks for the tip. That sounds like a great way to minimize impact while still getting the job done. Unfortunately, glyphosate is banned in France for home use (as of last month I think). I might be wrong on the definitive date, sounds like it’s worth double-checking!
@@NowGardening you could stock up if it's still available (something tells me the EU ban becomes effective at the end of this year) another alternative is Citronella essential oil (mixed with a little dish soap) as it's a phytotoxin, I've not tried this myself, worth exploring 🙂
Thank you. Out of curiosity, I'm definitely going to see if it's still available and try your method on some other weeds, although I've come to terms with my rowdy comfrey plant 😂 @@Jimbo878

That’s wonderful. I’m sure they’ll appreciate getting a dose from time to time.
Thank you for sharing my harvest with your community❤

Helpful and balanced video. Merci beaucoup!
Avec plaisir ! Glad it was helpful 😊
That's so cool it had such a benefit to fruit trees !!
You're right about how difficult it can be to manage, even if it's Bocking 14 !!
Cheers Val 🌱🤞👍
It’s really been amazing for the fruit trees, but the area of garden where it multiplied is now the comfrey and experimental zone! Love and learn 😅
Very nice video thanks for sharing
Thank you too. Hope you picked up some useful information

A little research and prep goes a long way. We have enough challenges in the garden without creating them ourselves! 😅

Welcome! Thanks for watching and sharing your comments 😊
Hi Val,you can't get to comfy with your comfrey...I didn't know about comfrey and it's rooting capabilities, thanks!😊
You said it better than I did 😄 It might be great for your fruit trees, but plant it more wisely than I did! Hope you’ve had a good weekend 🌻

@@NowGardening Does comfrey spread like mint does? Will it take over an area and keep going?
