I have started reading from the beginning and each morning before I start work I read before I start my day. I deleted IG and Facebook, and the extra time I have, I now read my Bible. I heard a wise pastor, Stephanie Ike say when you read and you don't understand something, ask God to help you understand it. What blew my mind is he will show me in a dream or my pastor will bring that very verse up on Sunday. When it first happened, it shocked me now I just feel so loved by God that he hears me. I say start from the beginning.

I LOVE how Megan has gravitated toward Faith based channels and surrounded herself with such authentically godly and forward moving people because that is HER true tribe. When I got serious about reading the Bible I used my physical dictionary to help me understand words because I wanted to know what they meant not what someone thought they meant

Wow this is such a good idea
yess i ended up getting an app called the Blue Letter Bible App, it has the original hebrew and greek words in a concordance with the biblical definition of the word.
Read the Greeks concordance, because the bible was originally written in Greek and Hebrew, so many English words the way we mean them is not actually how the bible intends them to be translated. The Greek concordance is the Bible's dictionary, when u use that if there is still a word in the greek concordance that u actually don't know the meaning of, ex. "consecrate" then you use a dictionary. In the greeks concordance 3 words in bible could refer to one thing and one word, can have 3 definitions to help you understand what is meant by it.

Love this chapter for Megan. For new Christians I recommend doing daily devotions in the morning, allowing God to set the tone for the day & at night read one chapter and ask God for the guidance, knowledge & wisdom while understand his word!

Great episode! You chose a great guess. That “Let a man’s character be his currency” had me clapping! Oh and Tony speaking on how he acutually LISTENS to his wife. So many men and husbands lack that humility to admit there wife has more knowledge than them in certain areas. The Bible says submit yourselves to ONE ANOTHER meaning husbands need to take listen to their wives wisdom and submit to her plans sometimes because it could save you a world of trouble and pain.

Being called to something is ALWAYS outside of your comfort zone but it’s confirmation to what God keeps showing you! I was with an older guy who gave me NOTHING. No financial support , no emotional support. He had the means to bring me along and possibly build with me as he made way more money but he chose not to and I stayed way longer than I should.

@ 50:44, FACTS!! My Ex and I had relationships with God individually but not foundationally at the core of our relationship. There was definitely a war of wills, the stance was thinking “this is just who I am, don’t try to change me” forgetting that the word of God tells us to be continually renewed in our minds daily-NOT stay the same.

I can relate to the topic about being a single parent that have been divorced after 13 years of marriage and now in my season of growing my businesses and raising my kids keeps me so busy it’s like I don’t think about dating or have time to date because I am mentally, physically and emotionally tired at the end of the day from being a mother, teacher, business owner, the cook, the maid, Ms fix things around the house, Uber driver (driving kids to practice), lawn maintenance, accountant, counselor (listening to kids talking my ear off about school)…the list goes on and on..lol. But I know that eventually God will bless me with a help mate. He is out there. It’s just not my time to meet him yet.

4:02 one thing that helped me was reading the children's bible to my kids at the same time. It had the pictures and helped me visualize and remember more of what im reading lol.

I 100 percent agree. My fiance (ex as of 3 days ago) attempted to force the submission through disrespect, invalidation and etc. Eventually I had to step back due to him not hearing anything but his own words and unyielding to understand that security and honor would lead to submission, which is not the same as control/oppression. It’s a partnership. He isn’t willing to partner. He wants to be the brains and if his plans don’t work then we can consider mine. 😮💨Hurts terribly as we were to marry next month.. yet, some battles are within a person no matter your best effort. I prayed for him/us and did my best, even when talked to crazy at times. I didn’t respond the best at times due to frustration. My heart /ear is listening for God’s plan.

As for reading the bible , I use The orthodox study bible it really breaks it down and explains the context of scripture. Especially if you're a beginner
