I actually bought this 2011 Comic-Con Exclusive Ghoulia Yelps from Ebay several months ago. I paid $339 for her, but after I got her and posted a picture of her on Instagram, I was advised NOT to open this doll. There were lots of reasons - she's rare, she's valuable, she's a work of art, etc. And so I left her on the shelf for a while.
But lately, this Ghoulia Yelps has been calling to me to make a Monster High doll series with her, and so I decided, "What the heck? You only live once!" And so I am unboxing her and reviewing her for you all so I can share my joy with you!
The idea behind this Ghoulia Yelps doll is that she dresses up as her favorite superhero to attend "Nekrocon," which is an homage to those of us who do the same in real life to go to Comic-Con - very clever! Ghoulia's favorite superhero is "Dead Fast," a speedy zombie who came by his powers while working as a lab rat for the "diabolically sweet" Dr. Igorable.
Included in the box is a comic that shows Ghoulia teaming up with Dead Fast to outwit Dr. Igorable and his plushy army of stuffed animals.
There are so many wonderful details about this Monster High exclusive Ghoulia doll from 2011's San Diego Comic-Con. For one, she comes with a boxed figurine of Dead Fast, almost as if she picked him up at Nekrocon. She also comes with a Nekrocon badge hanging from a lanyard, as well as a Nekrocon convention bag adorned with Dead Fast in action. She's clutching a comic of Dead Fast, and is also dressed as Dead Fast.
Ghoulia Yelps as Dead Fast is strikingly gorgeous. Her long light-blue hair is streaked with dark blue and goes well past her waist. She wears white-rimmed glasses (although you can replace these with the Dead Fast glasses she comes up, which is what I elected to do), and her face-up is well done, with gray eyeshadow, silver sparkles on her upper lid, and silvery lipstick.
Ghoulia Yelps' Dead Fast costume looks exactly like the real Dead Fast's costume. It's 3 parts: 1) a glittery black tunic top complete with jagged red vinyl at the collar, sleeves, and bottom hem (to resemble red lightning) and a Dead Fast "DF" emblem in the center and a belt adorned with human brains, 2) a pair of glittery black leggings and 3) a pair of wicked-looking red superhero boots with black stripes, white rims, and a fang-shaped heel.

She is so cool! I loved that you inboxed her! I unboxed my sdcc dolls as well, I think you can appreciate them better when they're out of the box. My grail doll would probably be Lagoona Blue first wave (2010)

Got one recently out of the box with the full line of accessories...never been played with...glad you took her out to breathe...now you can take great pics of her. Dead Fast ghoulia is so killer!!!

Great review! Wow you are brave lol I have my grail doll SDCC Cerise Wolf but I keep her and half my EAH dolls in box. I have her on display in my room with the rest of them on a shelf but i still enjoy them so much. 😊😊😊

soso gorgeous!! when MH did quality dolls, so sad!! i think you can take the figurine without ripping the package, the carboard just slides and you can put it back on
I think this was their best Comic-Con doll, but that is because I am totally biased and I adore Ghoulia Yelps! Oh, good tip on the figurine - I might try it!
i recently started collecting and when i heard she was around 400$ six years ago i melted cause she’s now about 2500$ which i can’t afford as an uni student 😭

Well done.....you have read my mind ......Ghoulia in long-hair is pretty for me but this version is outstandig....cosplay, make-up... My grail would be...hahaha (soooo many) : SDCC Cerise Wolf and SDCC Manny Taur-Iris Clops.

She’s still my grail doll. Shes listed at 1200-1900$ as of 2024. I just got 2 of the re release dead fast ghoulia. I like the re release however I wish I could get this one.
Same, I bought 2 of the re-release and think she is awesome. This one is amazing, but I would never have paid that much for a single doll, no way! Thank goodness I bought this when I did...
@@DTGGal the re release is the only way we can kinda have our grail doll right here. When I first started collecting MH this doll was around 300$. Back than I wasn’t willing to pay that much but now that she’s listed for over 1000$ I wish I bought her back than. If I ever get this doll I want her in box and I would open her and keep her forever! lol I am excited to receive my re release dolls tho. 💙🖤❤️

My Grail Doll is one of the Disney Designer Collection Tiana's. Tiana is my favourite princess and I love both Designer dolls they've done of her.
Ooh, I really love Tiana the character. She is so hard-working and has great determination and spirit. I wish she hadn't spent so much of the movie as a frog, but oh well! :-)

Omfg.... it’s a $300 doll and you’re here casually cutting all the rubber bands, taking out those accessories, ruining her hair, changing her glasses... I could n e v e r ... even with my cheapest doll
Well...the thing is, if I had been able to go to the 2011 Comic-Con, I would have picked her up for just $40. So really, she is a $40 doll that I paid $300 for. And yes, all of us enjoy our dolls differently...some people leave them in the box forever, but I don't see how they can enjoy them that way! Regardless, I appreciate you watching and commenting!!!!
