Parents need to be fully informed about repetitive head injuries and how it affects their mental health, such as changes in personality, and CTE before signing their kids up for sports. This is the first step to prevention.

My husband died of CTE. Repetitive hits that cause this, doesn't have to be concussions. Football and 2 other head injuries from car accidents caused his. Looking back now I can see little things we didn't think much of. I'm sorry your son had CTE.

The many parents of these kids that died and had CTE, say they loved playing football, BUT if THEY didn't expose them to THEIR LOVE of it and, as ALL PARENTS that I know, have hopes and dreams of THEIR KID being the NEXT TOM BRADY OR MAHOMES, the children wouldn't be interested in it to begin with. My son was taught about this HORRIFIC CTE from the time kids begin playing sports, so he never had the desire. BUT, as a parent, I was HARRASSED, AND MADE FUN OF, because I would let him play the American OBSESSION, FOOTBALL. It is no better, if you really are honest, than the Roman Colosseum. They CHEERED WHILE PEOPLE played sports and got killed. FOOTBALL is the EXACT SAME THING, EXCEPT IT'S USUALLY A SLOW, TRAUMATIC, HORRIBLE, SUFFERING DEATH, as their son described he spent FOUR YEARS in a mental LIVING HELL, UNTIL he could take no more! The individuals I saw on the news that said they wouldn't change letting them play, they loved it, were mostly the parents that made a living from football, and were wealthy. Well, NO WAY would I trade my son's life for a sport, hope for fame and WEALTH, as this father said. I feel SO MUCH SORROW for these children and what they suffered, and I pray more and more evidence will make parents scared enough that it DESTROYS THIS HORRIBLE DEATHLY SPORT!😢😢😢😢
