    Boy is your information inaccurate. The Rocky Mountain Horse is a newer breed and was bred in the East. The Mustang is notan expensive breed as the Federal government sells them at $125. And you did not explain the differences between the spots onthe Appaloosa and the spotted pintos sometime seen within Mustang herds. You really screwed up the pronouncement of Dressage. BTW $1k to $5k is relatively cheap in equestrian fields. Please do not do another horse video of any kind until you can speak with a true equestrian, seek out somer instructors, riders and trainers in all price ranges

    I was shocked that one of the most interesting traits of the Akhal Teke was not mentioned....its luminous coat. The Akhal-Teke typically has a marvelous metallic glow to his coat. This is caused by the structure of the hair; the opaque core is reduced in size and in some areas may be absent altogether. Go back and look. Amazing!

      @@jenniferbeyer6412, The color is actually pinto. Nearly any breed can be a pinto but only certain breeds, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horses, can be a Paint. So, a Paint is a TB or QH that is also a pinto.

    13:31 I’m sorry, but that’s just wrong. Saying that a standard bred costing between $1000 and $5000 is expensive, and saying that people will have to save up for such an expensive horse, Hilarious! A horse that is usually considered expensive ranges from as low as $40,000 or even higher than $100,000 depending on who you ask. My advice to improve these kinds of videos is to ask somebody knowledgeable of the topic the question that you are answering in the videos. For example, asking a horse expert what they would consider to be an expensive horse.

    These are gorgeous horses, but why would you say they are more expensive than others? You can buy a quarter horse for a fairly cheap price. Do you want to buy a trained rodeo quarter horse? Now you're talking money because of the training the horse requires, but it has nothing to do with its breed. Mustangs are not expensive. You can get them through the BLM for a minimal expenditure. They have something like 46,000 horses in captivity that they are trying to find homes for. $1,000-$5,000 is not a high price to pay for a horse. Expensive horses are in excess of $100,000. Once again, a racing horse is going to cost far more than a thoroughbred who has not been successful on the track. Owners will sell off unsuccessful race horses for a pittance simply to have room for a horse that has more potential.

    • @nancykaminski8600
      @nancykaminski8600 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Absolutely! You can buy most of these breeds of horses for less than $10,000-value depends more on level of training and performance record than breed. Warmbloods tend to be more expensive because their gaits place them better in dressage (pronounced “dreh-SAHGE”) competitions, but there are cheap warmbloods out there. Frankly, this video is full of inaccuracies and is pretty lame.

    • @JazminFloral1020
      @JazminFloral1020 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt like there was something wrong here. It felt like the only point that was being made was that the particular horse was important to history and that’s why it deserved it to be on the list. A lot of the horses he mentioned can be found at auctions for less than $10,000. And one of my favorite breeds wasn’t even mentioned, the American cream draft, which is really rare and probably very expensive to buy.

    • @nancykaminski8600
      @nancykaminski8600 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@JazminFloral1020 There was always a pair of Cream Drafts at the Minnesota State Fair---they were owned by the University, I believe. They are handsome horses. I myself owned Lipizzans for many years---they are officially an endangered breed since there are fewer than about 10,000 in the world, and only about 4,000 in the US. But being relatively rare meant nothing as to value, I got most of mine for $8000 each (geldings, all started under saddle and well-bred with good conformation). Why so cheap? They are not fashionable in the show ring; they are generally small (14.2-15.2) and many people don't like their big Roman noses. Doesn't matter that they are intelligent, trainable, and bred for dressage, they don't place well in competition. Judges want to see extravagant warmblood movement with lots of toe-flinging and huge extensions, and Lipizzans excel at collection. Thankfully now this is changing and very tall dressage horses are not so popular, and more people are understanding that amateurs don't need huge horses with gaits they can't sit properly. There is a local trainer who breeds and shows Lipizzans very successfully, and her youngsters sold under saddle are priced closer to $25,000, and they're worth it, their basic training is classical and correct. That is still less than a similarly-trained quality warmblood, but it's going in the right direction.

      @@JazminFloral1020I can't believe he put the paint as number one. The paint,mustang and quarter horses are the most common breeds and are overflowing at the auctions,rescues and blm. I own a breeding pair of purebred Egyptian Arabians and though they aren't that rare or always expensive I believe horses such as the Arab the Akhal teke, the Andalusian/P.R.E and other similar types should have been listed as most expensive not just because of price but because of things such as refinement/beauty,purity and their ancient bloodline. I mean even though a trained rodeo or competition quarter horse might be more expensive than a lot of arabs the difference is that the quarter horse,mustang,paint ect and other rather plain breeds gain their monetary value via their training and performance abilities compared to a breed like the Arabian or Akhal teke wich can be totally untrained but be worth considerably more money based on its exquisite refinement,purity of its ancient bloodline and graceful floating movements. They are moving art. In planer words the quarter horse,paint,mustang,types have to work at being expensive whereas the singularly pure,ancient and exotic oriental breeds such as Akhal tekes,and Arabs are born with the bloodline and beauty to stand on its own that's why I'm actually surprised that you can even get a purebred Arabian for any less than 10,000 some go for a couple thousand but this is only due to them being so exotic and beautiful that the demand for them in like the 80s caused them to be bred to the point where they are more common now and therfore the price went down

    All mustangs did not originate from the Spanish horses, as there are etchings in cave walls and rocks showing horses (and other animals that are now extinct), that were etched there by Native Americans way before the Spanish ever set foot in America. Some mustang herds have been tested and there is not one drop of Spanish dna in them at all. The knowledge of the original wild horses (mustangs) were passed down in Native tribes well before the Spanish ever set the first foot in America. I am Native American and this is a cold hard fact, and saying that all our horses originated from Spanish lines is not only false, it is not true at all.

    This isn't necessarily in any particular order, I'm guessing? I've had the honor of working with, and being owned by several horses over the years, (Quarter Horses, Appies, Arabians, Saddlebreds, etc.), but the MOMENT I rode my first Andalusian stallion I was absolutely SPOILED for anything else! These horses are DEFINETELY #1(not even close!), in my humble opinion😊! They are ALL heart & soul (after being bred for centuries for bullfighting&war😢, they would literally lay down their life for their person!), they are EXTREMELEY intelligent making them very fun&easy to train, are absolutely the MOST beautiful/fun/flashy yet safe/comfortable/brave/loyal/loving horses I've EVER had the privledge of being owned by in my entire life (and, that is no mistake, THEY own YOU, and you're a better person for it!❤)! After rescuing a couple of Andalusian stallions from some 💔abuse/neglect, I was hooked! This breed loves their person with the loyalty&intensity usually associated with a dog, and, as an added bonus, are also by FAR the MOST GORGEOUS breed on the PLANET(although i am partial, but they ARE the "carousel horses" AND "unicorns"... REALLY! !😊❤)! OK, I promise, I'll stop raving now...I just TRULY LOVE them (and miss my boys!💔😪) in case you couldn't tell!!🥰💜💙💜

    I didn't know the Rocky Mountain Horse as a breed before watching this. So, thank you for pointing it out to us. I could see immediately that it can do the "Toelt" or "Paso Fino" gait, which is so comfortable to ride!
    Speaking of this gait, the American Saddlebred also has it and the Tennessee Walker and the Foxtrotter. I don't know whether they would be very pricey for that reason? But can imagine they would be, as the various types of Paso Finos are: Peruvian, Puerto Rican, Venezuelan and Colombian. All brought over to North, Central and South America by the Spanish.
    The Icelandic horse is much smaller, but for adults to ride too and it also has the "Toelt" gait. Many Icelandic horses also have the Pace, a gait I don't find at all comfortable to ride with both legs on one side moving in unison. Like camels. There is an American breed that does it too and is used for not trotting, but pacing races, running before a sulky.
    So, there are many horse breeds in the world that can turn out pricey... And speaking of trotting race horses, there is of course also the Russian Orlov, very popular too for this sport...

Symbiosis implies that both animals cannot survive without the other because of specialised traits that contribute to the health and well-being of both animals. The only reasons horses need *us* as a species is for the food and vitamins they cab no longer they can live without
    What you were looking to say wa that horses and people have a *partnership,* where both contribute to a common aim, but do not absolutely require that other to eat, breed and survive. There is a difference.

    No disrespect intended here. But you really need to learn far more about horses. Your information isn't correct about the breeds are theirs prices. Please do a complete research and get educated on horses before doing another video on them. There's a lot of us out here who are actual horse owners that know far more about them and the different breeds than you do , as well as their cost. And we do watch videos like yours relating to them. I've owne a number of the horses you claimed are very expensive. Their not as expensive as your making them out to be. There's horses you didn't even mention that are far more expensive. Which I also happen to own. No disrespect intended just trying to help you here. Much respect. 😊

    German breeds are not that expensive in Germany. Same for Dutch warm bloods. They are pretty standard here. It depends where you live and purchase a horse.
    I think Trakehners are better at trot racing compared to the American standard bred.
    I also don´t see how American Paint are the most expensive. For me it would be Aral Theke or Turkoman in like golden or satin like colours

    The Appaloosa horses that are shown ARE NOT TRUE APPALOOSA! The true Appaloosa has a rat tail sparse mane. These are all crossbred with other breeds like Quarter Horse, Thoroughbred, Warm Blood, etc. The Appaloosa breed has been ruined by it's own registry.
    If you get a Quarter Horse DO NOT GET any horse that has ANY of the stallion Impressive in it's pedigree. Impressive bloodline has a dangerous genetic condition called HYPP. It causes severe seizures & is a fatal condition. It's almost like epilepsy.

    Sorry to disagree with you about the Mustang. The BLM who is a government agency is in the process of eliminate of their range to make room for the cattle and sheep industry. Many of the Mustangs end up in kill pens and other over loaded holding pens.😢

      The BLM are wicked and cruel in their treatment of the wild Mustangs, Burros et al. I just call them the...
      B - Bl**dy
      L - Lunatic
      M - Murderers
      I have watched how wicked they are, it hurts my soul.

    They should have mentioned this: "Appaloosa, colour breed of horse popular in the United States. The breed is said to have descended in the Nez Percé Indian territory of North America from wild mustangs, which in turn descended from Spanish horses brought in by explorers. The name derives from the Palouse River of Idaho and Washington.Jan 30, 2024" and "The horses were originally called "Palouse horses" by settlers, a reference to the Palouse River that ran through the heart of what was once Nez Perce country. Gradually, the name evolved into "Apalouse", and then "Appaloosa"."

    The 'Arabian' horses do not originate from the Arabian peninsula they were brought into Arabia from Iran around 1400 years ago and are an offshoot of the Aseel horses of Iran that are 4 or 5 distinct breeds at least one of which was bred especially for it's stamina (Saglavi). The Aseel horses are much calmer than the Arab horses of Arabia that have been handled with a view to making them a little feisty so they can appear to be a bit of a challenge and the narrow nose and head shape that has been bred into them in Arabia is not everyone's ideal and may restrict breathing. For cross breeding purposes the original breeds from Iran have all the fundamental qualities that can enhance many other breeds.

    I Would like to point out ,that all these Horses Dont necessarily Come from America ?
    I am an old Aussie Digger,Who grew up on a farm with Clydesdale & Suffock Punch Horses ! Also with Australian 1/4 Horse Which my great Grandfather bred & trained,& were just Amazing Animals !
    But What about the Belgium Draught Horse ,I believe to be the Strongest Horse on the Planet ! Not as Tall as Clydesdale or Shire But More Mussle & lower to the ground So Would Pull More in any Situation ?
    Or Irish Cob ,not even a mention,Which is disappointing to Say the Least ?
    As a Horse man all my Life ,now 72 ,but was on a horse at 2 with my gramd father, & So Love all of them !
    But a Little balance Wouldn't Go astray ,I believe ?
    They all have talents,mostly Shown & Displayed from the ,Love ,& Training of that Owner! But it is truly Wonderful to See a Huge Horse with Rider in
    Dressage ,So elegantly prancing around ! And the gentle Nature of Such a Huge Animal ! And in Perfect Condition ,Coat ,for themselves,Rider ,owner !
    Thank U for this Video ,Was Nice to See & Hear about Some ?
    BUT i feel Could of been better,Without being too Critical ?
    But of Course When one Has a Love for these Animals ,& a Passion is Difficult indeed !
    With Respect ,& Love from Downunder Australia!🙏❤️☘️🇦🇺
