This video helped tremendously! My husband and I put this garage motor up within an hour and a half. Thank you!!

You did an amazing job explaining the steps in detail. You really know your stuff. I’m part of the gd community normally I have to point out the mistakes but you know your stuff. Matter of fact I’m going by Lowe’s today to pick up one of these puppy’s for our big door.

Note: I noticed later that the little door sensors are not installed properly. They do work but I'm going to have to go back and fix that.

So I have 7 ft door but my opener doesn’t line up with the current ceiling bracket, can’t move it because it’s already on a stud. Do I get a different bracket or add brackets?

Hard to say without seeing your setup. Typically you would have a cross brace from stud to stud and then two angle braces hanging down to the opener. You should be able to move the whole thing to where you need it. If that does not work (left to right) then maybe get a new cross brace long enough to cover three studs (rafters).
