0:50 A pun on your own name. Most very impressive. Glad you still make videos.

This also happens in Crew Expendable after you drop from the cealing vent. The alien will often run right into you as soon as you drop, only to jump up into the vent and despawn.

The server farm is extremely scripted in terms of the ai. He is scripted once you hack the door to go into the vents regardless of anything so he will quite often ignore you and go into the vent behind you. He won't drop anymore as you found out until you hack the terminal. Then once you've hacked the terminala while aways drops out of the the vent above the terminal then he wanders around the server farm you can't be killed now. Then when the server farm opens up where ever he is he will run out of that door and straight up into the vent in the the room with the brace ignoring the player. That part i assume was done as the alien was escaping the trap since the doors open. Once you realise the scripting in that part it becomes really easy. Another part that is similar is M7 the alien is quite passive in that level anyway but will drop if you make any noise. Once you hack the console upstairs to power the android the alien is scripted to not be able to drop till you get the cylinder so you can make as much noise as you like during that part.

Respect for a good description ! I was aware of the M7 scripting, but only partly in this case. Most interesting was that the Alien is getting agressive again at a certain point (the inner door). And once the escape door is opening it might even stop an attack. Quite often attacks are prioritised over scripts.

    • @PureGameplay777
      @PureGameplay777 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Yes sometimes attacks are prioritised over the scripts but sometimes the alien "locks on" which is where he ignores everything and goes to the nearest vent. He appears to do this behaviour in m10. The easiest way to trigger this is in the nest in them vents or anywhere where the alien is unable to reach you he will enter "lock on" mode and you can then touch him run by him etc without any attacks. I think he attacked you at the end because you touched him as he ran by that must had still been activated as he completed his scripted part than attacked you. Yep he becomes aggressive again once hes gone into the vent after the lock down is lifted You can see the mission 10 stuff here on my vid very well th-cam.com/video/Aia2Q2I9DWk/w-d-xo.html and triggering "lock on" mode here in the nest th-cam.com/video/Aia2Q2I9DWk/w-d-xo.html.

@@PureGameplay777 True, the nest for instance, a second scripted Alien 3times walking from one vent to another but it will notice and attack you, always funny when let's Players are suddenly attacked by 2 Aliens in a row.
And yeah, i'm familiar with that what you call 'lock on' mode. Once the Alien has definitely decided to go back into the vents it doesn't care much about a possible victim
      th-cam.com/video/KVuL_oEtihc/w-d-xo.html
I speculated a while how to use this in-game but unfortunately it's showing never a sign 'Come out, come out, i'm leaving anyway'

You guys might be who I am looking for to help me solve an issue. LOL
I have discovered some c0des in AI ... some on Screen monitors with obvious cryptography going on.
A prime example of this.. (one known location i know for sure of) is in the Safe Haven DLC... (in the break room section of Gemin Security) on the big screen. It changes screens often and to some very curious ones too.
I believe there is a massive easter egg level or room or something... hidden in Alien Isolation. Maybe several. The clues I've encountered add up to something that is lengthy and will take time to unfold.
The code that is on the screen is as follows:
Upper left corner in large text: 027 (the same number as the Safe Haven's Gemini Security Doors, but this same screen and code appears throughout spots in AI and also in several other DLC's such as Lost Contact in one of the hospital rooms again on the big monitor).
RIght hand side in lower text:
      T G H H 1 1 5 H (extra space between those ones is apparent)
      T T A O T P 4 6 7 (space between P and 4)
      4 0 1 2 T O B F J (space between 2 and T, also not sure if these are zeroes or "O"s.)
      O T L D 9 7 7 D (spaces between D and 9, and also 7 and D at the end)
      G I L E R I N T E (spaces between R and I, this is an anagram or signature it seems)
This is a cryptogram and the "key" is the 027 in the upper left. I tried several crytogram solvers online and some of them spit out interesting words but I'm not sure if the O's were zeroes or not and therefore some of the words didn't come out right.
There are also screen images of "Dip switches" in the off and on positions. Throughout Alien Isolation is a series of rewire boxes. The game CLEARLY states that these rewire boxes should be explored and experimented with.... interestingly enough they seem to do more than just throw some noise across the room via speakers/alarms... or hide you with gas/fog. We know that some open doors.. a lot of them have something called: "Unstable system" On some levels like the second phase of "The Trap", one rewire box clearly turns something on across the room (this is the one where you find the torch near the dead body - below a camera and near the android that checks on the terminal inside).
There are two other rewire boxes in the vicinity that have the "Unstable system" option. One is near another camera in the hallway from where you enter that area... but the camera is off at the time you first pass it.
I believe these unstable systems act as "DIP Switches".
But to what I don't know.
Early in the game there are a pair (or trio) of Rewire boxes that open an elevator after the train terminal. This elevator is off and doesn't go anywhere but it has some goodies inside. If you don't switch the rewire boxes to "Unstable system" the elevator door never opens.
There was a panel I discovered very early in the game after messing with some things (and I cannot find it again --- it was my first play-through) that SLID open when I touched it and hit "A" (on my controller) there was a hack tool code screen inside and this was at a time before I even found a hack tool. You don't know how many times I've tried to refind that spot since I have learned this game!
In addition I suspect many other things at play.
      Radios.
We already know there is a radio channel on the radio boom boxes you find.. that plays Morse code. I don't know what the code is... but the radios were described to me as just simply ways to distract enemies like the Alien, robots, or even humans. Okay.. .sounds reasonable... except there are radios in spots where there is no Alien, robots, or humans.
My question is... what happens if you can track down all the radios in the game. Turn them on to the same channel or frequency (on and off seems to work until you find it)...
This reminds me of another game that something similar unlocked a secret ending... can't recall if it was the original Silent Hill or some other game.. but I got an eerie feeling about the radios.
Another suspicion which I keep wishing I could try... is to tune the Radar dish to different coordinates.. but ... not sure which and not sure when... just one of those things I've suspected.
Either way... there are radios found in the Enisidora (Marlowe's ship) about 2 of them I think... (no aliens, robots, or armed humans to distract with them and they are off).
there are several radios round on the way from the moment Amanda wakes out of being strung up on the wall by the alien to the exit... this includes going through the maze of wreckage and train yards. Like more than 3 radios for sure. No aliens come out to investigate them. They are all in the Off default.
There is at least one radio in the Torrens start.
Of course there are also some in the DLCs... but these really do feel like they are put there to use as distractions. Exceeeeept that one in the ending of Safe Haven. ;)
      Computer terminals:
Here is where the clues to finding an easter egg might be spiced up.
Some computer terminals have options that say: Read error, bad this or bad that. Corrupt data.. blah blah. Those links are useless.
However, some "Utility" entries, have two entries and nothing but .....'s . If a blank entry is on a terminal then the second entry must "do" or "say" something.
When you select those second blank entries you "hear" an audible clicking sound that is different than clicking the first one. I think this is how I found the "panel" that time. It was on an early set of terminals.
There is more than one. Scattered throughout Sevastapol station are a lot of damn terminals. Not all of them have this second entry but there are quite a few. They seem to be in a pattern but I cannot figure out the pattern or what they do or might do.
      I do know this...
There are several doors which I can see that seem to be able to be opened. Maybe they were from parts of the game that the devs changed or closed... dunno.
Like the one that had the keycard slot painted over (in between the Marshall's office and the train terminal). I swear I saw an Android open that door once by entering a code at the door! (that occurred AFTER the trap level when you are facing the android onslaught).
I died from another android before I could investigate it.
There are other doors with "X's painted on them. Some in RED... some in BLUE.
There are also at least two Ladder grates, both located inside vents that go somewhere but they are locked via "yellow cage doors". Both of these are located I believe on the same level near a terminal control room. One across from the other (I think).
Either way... I'm on to something.. Just don't know what. LOL
Video game easter eggs have been sneaked into games since the very first one (Pong). I watched an entire video article about these and it is no joke.
Sevastapol is big... very big. Lots of doors, ladders, computer terminals, rewire boxes, and radios to set to do this or that. Lots of room to sneak some hidden room, item, or whatever in.
Also, if you research it, some of the developers have had a knack (in their past) for sneaking hidden rooms in their games.
If you get bored... give some of these things a try.
btw... the "Lost Contact" DLC, if you go into the room on the left... there is a locked room (that you can open later with a keycard). This room has two large video screens on the same wall. If you click each one you get the following reactions: Clicking the screen on the left (while facing them) causes an eerie hazy light to shine on that area. Clicking the one on the right causes the screen to go black and emit smoke like something electrical is burning.
These are oddball things that happen, in a game that is otherwise loaded with a consitency of the same type of traps, triggers, buttons, or boxes. I can find no other place in the main game that this was used in. Except for maybe the Med ward when you can turn screens in the patients rooms on/off.
There is a secret area behind this RED cage looking barricade in the Med Ward of the main game... also one in the Lost Contact DLC in a similar medical wing. Basically it prevents the circle from being completed as both medical wings are connected in a roundabout. However, I do wonder if there is a way into either of those ... using some sort of way to open them up?
      Who knows.
If I can get some others looking also... maybe we can discover something about this now.. 6 year old game that no one thought was there.
I think the longest kept video game secret level or room lasted 26 years.
READ this... if you want to know what I am talking about:
      www.ign.com/articles/2017/07/26/11-video-game-secrets-that-took-years-to-find
Let's not let Alien Isolation's secrets go undiscovered. There are clues... start with that cryptogram. :D

@@d0nKsTaH I think i've noticed you already on steam forum and quite frankly i don't have the nerves to look into those issues but i appreciate your efforts. Unfortunately it's not very likely that those things have a deeper meaning in my opinion. And game mechanics are way easier to explore.
If i would be a developer i wouldn't care much to give those things a meaning, time is money and things have to be done straightly.
But who knows ? Nothing can be ruled out.

That was interesting to watch because on all my play throughs once the server locks down I just hide under the nearest desk 😂

2:57 I thought it teleported there at first, until the second time. Funny how it ignored you until the one it was forced to bump directly into you... "Okay I'd better give Ripley some attention" 😂
Very interesting find! Speedrunners take notes!

      @maxheadshot3287  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

Thanks Traveler, i found that it is scripted to run to this vent by the shortest path, that's the reason why i didn't open the door towards the save point because it would eventually bypass me through the other escape door.
Hm, i should have investigated that version as well ...

Oh my freaking god. How do you find this stuff lol! Crazy! I enjoyed watching, and your choice of music lol. The finally at the end was funny. Like finally she's doing her job and eating you lol

Thanks Rachel, quite frankly i'm looking actively into those scripted events and for content for the channel. Then things will reveal themselves very quickly.
And the music was a matter close to my heart because i want justice for Michael Jackson after that obscure scandal some time ago.
