Please don't make such statements without knowing what actually makes someone's lower register better. Tori Kelly, for instance, can't go as low as Demi. Does that automatically mean that Demi has a better lows than Tori? No, it does not. So stop using these excuses to hate on Ariana. You're just going to as low of a level as the other person.

Demi sometimes struggles because of her chesty mix so Ariana is more consistent. If you are talking about consistency in power, that’s already stated as “power”. But overall Ariana has more consistent vocals because she uses a heady mix which provides her more ease.

One thing MANY of you are not taking into consideration is emoting. Singing is more than being able to be technically correct in the way you vocally deliver musical notes but it is more importantly about how good you are at being able to effectively tell a story, evoke emotion, and connect with a listener using your voice and let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, Demi wins this hands down. If we are talking about technicalities of singing, sure, one could argue Ariana is the better technical singer but Demi has what Ariana doesn’t. When Demi sings, especially her ballads, you feel that thing in the depths of your soul. She emotes. She knows how to tell a story and invoke the emotion, the pain, the passion that the lyrics of the song need. Ariana is a tremendous singer, yes. But she does not connect or emote to where you get the same effect that Demi gives. Any expert will tell you that singing is much more than the technicalities of what you’re able to do with your voice. Just look at Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, or any of the other greats. Yes, vocally they are technically amazing BUT they EMOTE. It’s their ability to evoke an emotion within listeners that makes them great. Demi has that; Ariana not so much unfortunately. Ariana will give you the pretty notes all day long but when Demi sings you’ll feel the pain, the emotion, the chills because she EMOTES.
Um may I remind you that being happy and joyous as well is an emotion right? Maybe demi gives off a melancholic feeling but so as ariana in her pop song being happy. Emotions doesn't always being sad or what. Making people happy is one of the "feelings" too.

Y'all think the only emotion that exists in singing is sadness. Well, you have to get over it because IT'S NOT TRUE. As another person rightly stated, happiness is an emotion too. Ariana has a very emotive voice as well... people just don't notice it because she doesn't write and record as many emotional songs/ballads as Demi does.
Nah these people trippen about Ariana lol, I’m with Demi all the way! Ariana has a pretty voice but there’s no song she’s ever written that actually shows her voice. Sucks. :/
Demi does not emote for me. She just has a darker tone. People assume darker tone are automatically more emotional than lighter tones but that’s not true. I personally really dont love Demi’s tone. It gets on my nerves.

Just an update, Ariana's range is C#3-B5-F#6-Eb7 (when you uploaded this video, it was D3-B5-F#6-Eb7), and her free range is F#3-E5, not Eb5 (can't blame you though, she only starting singing tension-free E5s around July or August that year)

C5: Ariana (Ik Demi is queen of C5s but Ariana's C5 with vibrato beats the one in this video... but if you used the C5 from any of Demi's For You performances, R.I.P. Ariana)
