      @@planttherapii I have had many suffer and die because of those wraps!! It makes me mad that I could have saved some from dying and to find out it was that gauzey stuff strangling them....glad you found them and got it out of there! I see more and more of that! I hste to repot so soon but it is so common now!

    Hi Madison! I made a leaf cleaner recipe that uses Castile soap and I really find it does smell pretty funky indeed and the worst part about it is that it leaves the grossest white residue on leaves especially Alocasia leaves! After that fail for a recipe, I went back to my other trusty leaf cleaning concoction of water, rubbing alcohol, dish soap, neem oil, and a few drops of tea tree for cleaning my leaves. Yucky dr Bronner's lol. I even tried it to wipe it off multiple ways and it was really really difficult to get the white residue off it even made a white residue in the kitchen sink!

    • @planttherapii
      @planttherapii  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh dang!! I hate when that happens!! I didn't even think about that! And I would never think to use rubbing alcohol either, that's so smart!! Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

    • @squishbean573
      @squishbean573 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@planttherapii Rubbing alcohol is the best! Especially for mealy bugs!! Ewwww fuzzy little buggers hehe. If I happen to not have the other ingredients, my base is water, alcohol and and dish soap. I only added the neem and tea tree because i had it hanging around :)

    • @planttherapii
      @planttherapii  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's awesome. I've only had one mealy bug situation so far (that i know of) and alcohol totally worked! I never thought to put that in a cleaning solution tho. That will definitely be added next time!!

    thank you for the informational video! when you rinse the soap/water solution off the plants in the shower, how do you angle the plant? as in, do you just let the shower water go into the pot, or do you hold the plant upside down?

    • @planttherapii
      @planttherapii  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah! Great question!! I angled it slightly (at like 45°) so I wouldn't spill the soil or soak it too much. But I wasn't worried about getting some soapy water into the soil:)
