The e-UP! is the best car they ever made. They wanted to sell the ID models, but the UP is just the better car.
Every time it came back into production it was sold out immediately. You dont want that as a manufacturer that only sells more expensive cars.
2:15 ‘vw wanted to demonstrate it’s commitment to sustainable mobility’. Then they went for the new business model: maximum profit on big to medium sized EVs, no more small affordable EVs. Then they went back to the old business model: let’s take half of the budget for research and development on EVs and use it on … a brand new combustion engine! And lobbying in the EU! And preventing Chinese EVs to hit the market in Europe cheaply! And in advertising and PR for eco friendly ICE cars (f-ing hybrids) and hydrogen!

A basic rule (ever since the BMC Mini):
Small cars = Small profit. VW are desperate, their more profitable EVs aren't really as useful in the real world as the E-Up!.

What are you talking about!? The e-up is out of production for a few years now. There is no alternative anywhere near the price in the vw range. They choose greed over green!
