    A lot of NBA athletes don't have a specific diet. This doesn't mean they eat fast food everyday, but they literally burn through thousands of calories everyday allowing them to eat whatever they want and not worry about it. Also they are performance athletes, meaning they don't care much about aesthetics. Genetics also play a big role in these freak athletes, a lot of them naturally have a muscular frame which is easily visible because of their low body fat percentage.

      this is the truth right here. i'm a naturally explosive type of athlete, and i rarely lift weights or even watch what i eat, but i maintain a physique similar to russell westbrook's year round. obviously not at his level, but similar traits (wide shoulders, tapered waist, visible abs, prominent pecs, etc.) the trick is to be as explosive as possible. strive to jump as high as you can. and this has to permeate every aspect of your life. what i mean is when you are walking and you see a high ceiling you have to have the natural urge to try to jump and touch it... if you are a naturally explosive athlete you will know exactly what i mean.

    the only thing about Russel Westbrook is that though his lower body is strong and he is naturally explosive, which allows him to be agile, he lacks mobility because of the amount of mass and his flexibility, this causes his shot to suffer, which is not optimal for every athlete.

    I asked him at his book signing in OKC what would he stress the most when working out and he said it's all cardio and stretching he said u HAVE TO STRETCH but he also said what this guy is saying his workouts are private and never recorded which is why nobody can really his what he does but he's a very private person which u have to respect.

    As a ball player you don’t lift weights. All body weight work out. Running so much doing practice definitely will get you lean since I stop playing years ago I gain more than 50 pound. One point I was at 250 pounds. I’m 6.4’ used to be between 175 to 185 pounds.

      We recommend the crossrope for everyone. The weight is perfect and it lasts for a LONG time. Whatever you do, DON'T start with a really like cable style speed rope. They are too light for beginners. You NEED a little weight in your rope for some feedback. It'll help you when getting started!

    The playing a lot of basketball tip doesn’t necessarily apply since simply playing the sport does not give someone a physique such as westbrook. A lot of nba players and basketball players in general do not have that body type. KD in the video you can see in the sand dune work out has a body not even eerily similar. Other players are even considered to be overweight or have a considerable amount of body fat compared to westbrook. So playing basketball wouldn’t remedy that

    Russell shouldn’t really be doing upper body weight exercises with weights because basketball players need all legs so you can safely assume he probably trains legs like crazy. And if you don’t get why basketball players shouldn’t do weights for upper body is because they need to stay quick, fast, explosive, etc.

    Russell is on a team of athletes who are probably all doing very similar workouts, diet and burning similar calories. A team in an entire league. How many of them look like Russell? If the answer is not many then it's genetics.

    Not to discourage people, however these videos should start with genetics. My brothers and I are all 6"3", 220-230 and shredded. We don't work out & we eat whatever we want (to an extent). Granted we're not professional athletes, but it's primarily genetics. That said, don't give up, just be realistic.

      NOIR - Amen! Genetics play a huge role in our ultimate physique, but they don't dictate that a persona has to be overweight.
      For some people (like you and your brothers) it comes easy, but for dudes like us, we have to work hard for it.
      Genetics will control how your abs look when you are at your leanest, how tall you can be and maybe the rate as which you can build muscle and burn fat, but If you willing to put in the work, genetics can't hold you back from finding the best version of yourself.
