GB is directly to blame for what happened to Iraq. The years when these exhibits ended up in the British Museum tell the story of the plundering of half the world. And it's not just about the exhibits. The prosperity of modern Britain is largely based on the ruthless devastation of its colonies.
“Beacon of civilization”. Fun fact a large part of modern UK’s wealth is from finance sector which is basically a remnent of it’s old colonial past, it takes advantage of trade deals and interests of it’s exploited nations.
The British Museum is amazing, however, the artifacts that originated from other countries! Have you heard of the author Diana Darke with her book, Stealing from the Saracens, How Islanic Architecture shaped Europe.
There's something from Malaysia that is in England, not in the British Museum, but according to a documentary, it's in the a palace. That artifact is called 'pokok emas' or golden tree made out of pure gold. Back in the olden days, before Malaysia, before Malaya, before Melaka, there are many invasions, one of them is from the Siamese. As a peace offering, golden trees are presented to the Siam. The British, I don't know how they did it, but they managed to get one of the golden trees from the Siam.
Iraq as you know it today gained its independence with the help of the British less than 100 years ago. Egypt gained its independence approximately 100 years ago from the British and prior to that was controlled by the Ottoman Empire.
@@KouroshKamyabi Hmm I wonder why the British would help Iraq gain independence. I'm sure it wasn't out of the goodness of their heart. And I wonder who it was that helped cause a lot of this unrest that so benefited the British Museum.

So, what are you saying? I believe you can't safeguard your money at home or utilize it appropriately. Therefore, I seized it from you, ensuring better protection and allowing it to be used in more worthwhile ways. So, where's your money?😄😄😄
The last invasion of Britain by a hostile foreign force was the Battle of Fishguard in February 1797 This comment section is full of unserious people. kinda crazy.
and imagine what would have happened if the americans hadn't waged wars against Iraq.... Brits wouldn't have to keep and protect their history lol Thumbs down today, one more and unsubscribe
What? lol. So did Roman empire, Chinese, Russian, etc. Iran still stands as does all those countries. What’s your take, him pointing out past crimes and injustices that leave a legacy of pain and create wealth to this day for GB at the expense of the other counties should not be spoken about? Lol those days are over, the world is now waking up and def will mention it.

Their colonialism and imperialism provided a blueprint for USA's actions today.

Well, was it NATO that started that war in Iraq ?
Funny how he’s surprised it’s free. Wouldn’t it be ironic if the British Museum charged us to see the artefacts they stole from *our* countries?
Seriously..he sounds more british than the brits themselves!

They had interest in breaking up the Ottoman Empire and creating new countries with France.
"Демократический мир!"😂😂😂 Они, наверное, уже приготовили место для звезды с Кремлевской башни, но, слава Богу, Путин не даёт!😂😂😂
