Tina, visiting next week and want to rent a boat like the one you did. Is it possible to motor round the whole island in one day or is it better to take your time? Any suggestions for best snorkelling opportunities from the boat? It looked like you had a great time, I’m glad the anchor was rescued. Thanks for posting.

Hey @ruggy1963! You must be very excited!!! Ok SO! Contact Discover Meganisi- discovermeganisi.gr/, Mihalis is great and he will help you out with everything you need to have a great day! Do you have a boat license? If yes then you can hire a boat over 50CC which is great and means you can also go to other spots. If not, that's ok, 50CC is fine too. Yes you can absolutely circumnavigate the island in a day, its not so big. My advice- get the boat early in the morning and head left out of Spilia port and around the island that way, towards the Caves. Reason being, afternoon wind picks up around 2pm and it can get a bit rough on that side of the island. Once you pass the tail of the island and come up the other side you will be in more sheltered waters and its calmer. There are many spots to stop and swim, i haven't snorkelled, the water is pretty deep though. Pack a lunch or you can stop at some of the seaside tavernas which will help you tie the boat.
