  • This video shows how to make a super cute origami dress and coat. This is an easy to fold project that requires two sheets of 6" paper. Make several dresses and create a fun garland to decorate a room or party!
    Supplies:
    6" square Paper for the Dress: any floral design
    Coat: Yasutomo Kraft Origami
    White Mini Clothespins
    Bakers Twine
    Support your local art and craft supply store!
    If you are lucky enough to live near an independent art supply store, please consider purchasing your supplies from them. The products I use in my videos should be available and if not, a knowledgable salesperson can guide you to a suitable alternative. Most of the people who work in art supply stores are artists and crafters themselves!
    If an art supply store is not available in your area, I encourage you to order online from a store which has a physical store.
    Supporting your brick and mortar retailer will allow people to experience hands-on art and craft supply exploration and education which cannot be achieved by buying online.
    The unique shopping experience of brick-and-mortar stores can provide opportunities for the next generation to discover their own artists.

    These are so cute. Love the colours and so much fun to make, I learned this last week when Gi Kerr taught it, I’ve been making them out of 4” x4” pieces of paper for ephemera paper clips fun fun fun! 🥰

    Absolutely gorgeous! I don't even know how you put the washi tape on the paper so straight, never mind making a whole outfit! :-D Very impressive.

      I am so glad you like the dress and jacket! Sometimes, I fold a bit fast so sorry that you have to watch it several times. I will try to slow down a bit. :-) Thanks for the sub! 😀

    Karen did you make a 3D ornament on Carol Duvall's show several years ago?. It was made in three parts and they folded together to make a diamond shaped ornament. If you did, would you consider making it again?

      Hi Sharon, yes I did make a 3D ornament on her show and I would be happy to make it again. I will put in on the list so stay tuned!

    Love your dress and coat... I am inspired to make them asap! How do you determine the size of the paper to use. if you know what size you want the finished coat and dress to be? Is there a ratio of paper to completed project known to origami crafters?

    • @KarenElaine
      @KarenElaine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you, and great question! The dress and coat papers are 5 7/8" square. I hope this helps!

    • @KarenElaine
      @KarenElaine  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Semarjn, The dress and coat are made out of the same size six-inch square paper. Most origami paper is about that size although there are larger and smaller sizes. I hope this helps!
