There is a free trial version but it’s so limited I managed to be able to debug my android phone & the transfer went through so fast after that & now I have my chats on my iPhone it was worth it after all 🎉

It's not mandatory to take out the sim card from Android phone. If you put the sim on iphone, you don't have to type the verification code sent to your phone. I hope you understand. Again it's not mandatory do whatever makes you happy
I have fixed this same 40% failing issue. But not sure if this is actually a work around. As many have mentioned, faced the same issue of failing after 40% restore. Tried retry multiple times and no use. Out of frustration came out of whatsapp and after a minute or two opened again just to see if it still asks to retry or skip transfer. To my surprise it asked should the transfer start like how I started initially. This time the restore worked successfully. Hope this is helpful

It wont be shown in your messages you have to erase your iphone and set it up again there you’ll be able to see the code
