Will this work out in the middle of the atlantic ocean or pacific ocean when doing a round globe trip sailing? Also who picks up the signal and who comes to look for you in terms of country because if one is so far from USA would they still come looking for your boat?
Green Bear if you will be in the middle of the ocean or far off shore I would recommend getting one that has GPS capabilities. That ensures no matter where in the world you will be transmitting to the closest countries coast guard/navy.
