  • Welcome to another video!
    In this video, I show you a comprehensive review of the entire Brand New Islamabad International Airport Domestic Terminal. This airport is the largest in Pakistan and is far from the main city, since it is a greenfield airport (built from scratch). I show the arrivals and departures, as well as the visitors gallery all in this video.

      John Frank The date this video was released was when the airport was very newly opened, so there was just only short amateur clips in low video quality of the terminal, this was the first video i came across thats as longer, and less amateur. So you don’t really need to lecture me on what’s professional and what’s not without knowing the context.

No one here is getting upset besides from you continuing to argue a case which is going to get no one anywhere.

    • @Voyageur

      @@ratnangkabaidya650 I don't know if they don't have enough seats, I know for a fact that Pakistan isn't as filthy poor as you think it is that they can't afford to arrange for more seats. Does Pakistan have a high population of uneducated people? Unfortunately, they do. There aren't many forms of entertainment within their reach so they come to the airport which isn't nice, but it happens. I never said the airport is designated as a damn picnic spot, I clearly said its considered one for those people. Logic seems simple enough to me, don't know what point you're missing out on here...

      @Voyageur  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@ratnangkabaidya650 unfortunately, I can't control whether people sit or not. I am dissapointed that there are people who act like this here, but please note that not all countries are the same. I don't think we should compare countries like this, it'll only bring the negatives out. Let's be optimistic and just hope that the authorities take more steps in resolving the issue. Also keep in mind, this video was shot just as the airport opened. The trend has diminished now as far as I know, but we can hope for the situation to improve in the future. As for the foreign tourists part, I do agree. It's not a great impression, but based on the accounts given by the rapid increase of foreign tourists here in Pakistan, I can tell this hasn't openly impacted them as much, most probably since its becoming lesser now.

    Nice video! You did a good job touring the airport! Btw would you say the airport is split evenly or unevenly between the international and domestic sides? Also how many gates (both jetbridges and bus gates) would you say there are on both sides? And does A B C mean anything when referring to the gates (is there any purpose of using them to name the gates?) anyways I can’t wait for you to do a tour of the international terminal if you get a chance

      Thank You! I'd say that the airport is split evenly. 1/3 of the airport is occupied by the Domestic side and the other 2/3s are occupied by the International side. The airport has a total of 15 boarding bridges, as well as 28 aprons for aircraft parking. The letters A, B and C signify each of the 3 concourses in the airport. The gates in concourse A and B are part of the international terminal, and the gates in concourse C are in the Domestic terminal. Ahah yeah I hope I get to visit the international terminal soon too!

    I must say it's a very well crafted airport it may not compete or come close with other international airports but I find it to be more attractive spacious and fully featured airport if compared with Dubai Airport then it has a shiny surface and very easy to read sign boards and instructions a very good job indeed and very good video shoot thumbs up 👍🏻

    • @Voyageur
      @Voyageur  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Yeah I agree the airport is very nice and it's great to see one as such in Pakistan. But I do agree that it doesn't compare to many international airports yet. However, I believe this won't be a problem as this is only the start. As more air traffic becomes present in Pakistan, and the airport gets busier, with time the airport will develop and hopefully become one of the best.

      Mohammed Kumail thanks :), it's nice to have an airport like this in Pakistan now.
      But notice that the people who are sitting on the floor are normal people who don't have any business being at the airport. The airport is equipped with many seats in my opinion, yet they could use some more.. But, compare this airport to Berlin Tegel, where I am right now, in Germany (1st world country), there are many people sitting on the floor since there aren't enough seats. What I'm trying to say is that this is a problem in airports all around the world. I do agree that this leaves a bad impression on foreign tourists, but a way to resolve this is for authorities to limit the amount of extra people coming to the airport for leisure, not for flying. That would make a difference

    Its their lifestyle that they prefer sitting on floor instead of chairs.
    These people in their homes sleep or floor, eat while sitting on floor and have family gatherings with dinner arrangements on floor.
    Its simple as i cant use WC in toilets comfortably as m use to of using commode because i m use to of it since childhood. Similarly these lower class people use to sit on floor more comfortable then chairs.
    Its a big lesson. Instead of focusing and investing on secondary projects, we should invest on primary needs like education and standard of living of our common people.
    Its a big shame for our governments who never realize whats important and whats not.

    This airport looks good on film, but on close up its typical of any airport in Pakistan, low quality of workmanship ship, broken marble there and there. Not very clean for a new airport, very low standard toilet area. From arrival you have to go up escalator with you luggages trolley which rolls back on you, very dangerous. Few people have had serious accident on his escalator. .

I have been to many airports and no one asks for "Char Pani" except here from Passport Control to the ladies who get money from you for giving you tissue paper. It is my first time at this Airport and I did not like what I saw after 5 years of being away, this is not how you treat travelers. The Airport is nice the staff are greedy

      Fasal FasTech it does look bad, but all of those sitting on the floor have no important business being at the airport. They're just there for fun. There are sufficient seats in the airport. I'm in Berlin's Tegel Airport, in a 1st world country and the seat situation is exactly the same here, with people sitting on the floors everywhere. This is a common problem in many airports across the world.

    • @Voyageur
      @Voyageur  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the airport is quite nice. I wouldn't call the design outdated yet, and compared to what you already have in Pakistan for air travel, this ranks at the top. The airport had been built and ready for a while, and due to such a delayed opening and minor finishing mistakes, many parts are starting to wear off. When I was there, I was told by one of the crew that the airport hasn't come with an agreement with a cleaning service yet, therefore they had very less makeshift employees and custodians there.

      green GIANT I wouldn't blame the management. There are sufficient seats, and notice how the people sitting on the floor aren't passengers going anywhere, they're just random people who come to the airport as a form of entertainment. And, I'm actually waiting for a flight in Berlin Tegel right now, in Germany (1st world country) and there are people sitting on the floor everywhere, because there aren't enough seats. This is a common problem all over the world.
      So I wouldn't specifically blame or shame the Islamabad Airport Management.

      I shot this video in the domestic terminal. That is the ONLY side of the airport I've seen. I made this video back when the airport was newly opened. Not everything inside was properly finished. I don't think you can expect foreign airlines in the domestic terminal, can you? All the duty free I showed is all there is in this side of the airport. I have no control over people sitting on the floor, I don't understand why people use that as a point to bring this review down.
