I love the video!! I found you by happenstance... (I'm a bus driver for Jordan School District, and I was looking at Google maps for some information. I saw the Welby turntable on the map... I had no idea it was there! I am an avid train lover (used to operate the train at Hogle Zoo.) Your video came up when I searched about the turntable. I'm so jealous you got to go in person!! The bus yard is just north of there, so I pass by the farm multiple times a day!!
Those photos never fail to impress me. It's all so grand in scale and detail it's like a model set from a tv show. We have some massively huge mines here in Australia of that sort of scale but nothing like that with homes and shops literally surrounding the mines and massive trestle bridges crisscrossing the site. All our huge mines are massive holes in the ground in the middle of nowhere with thousands of miles of track connecting them to the sea but they never build the railway inside the pit itself.
This thing is so massive!! When I was a kid the pit was 1200 feet deep. Now over 3000 feet!! Yet the pit is not much wider, so the sides are so steep the east side just let go and slid. Still cleaning up that mess, but the new plan is to drive a shaft down from the center of the pit, and hard rock mine under the pit. Bring the rock up and load in the trucks, drive to the shaft with the mill inside it. WOW. That will take the mine to almost a mile down.
I'm a 40 year old female, wife and I LOVE your videos!! :) This one was just awesome. 🚂 I loved seeing the old towns. Thank you for your videos (and yes, I collect trains - very weird for a woman from what I hear - Lol😄). Thanks so much!! 😊
Not weird at all!! Karyn collects Hot Wheels, works under the hood of the old cars and works on the layout. Women should NEVER feel it's weird to just have fun!! This year give a girl a toy train for Christmas!!
Toy Man Television Thank you so much for this sweet comment!! You made my day!! So sorry I didn't get it until now. Getting a little girl a train is an AWESOME idea!! Thank you again so very much!!🚂💗🚂💗🚂💗🚂💗🚂💗
Some incredible modeling. No!? What scale would that need to be? Oh, well so much for humor. Always informative. Extremely well done. Always a notch, well above. Carry on with your "screwing around" and have a fun-filled week.
Have you been to the Black Hills area north of Rapid City SD? 10-15 years ago North Western Lines magazine had an article on the narrow gauge railroads that once had a large footprint in several mining towns.
Hey your wife said she had family that lived, and worked in Lark. My great grandpa was a Foreman at the Lark mine. Lots of my family had worked for Kennecott. Thanks for the video.
great videos thank you again for your adventures keep in mind half of the adventure is The Company You Keep hope you had a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed Christmas
Toy Man Television I have a bad week when it comes to technology too! I think a steam powered Difference Engine would be more reliable than most modern computers.
OK, heading back out!!!! We did head out to look for old grades, and what we found is next weeks show. Drove through Lark, surprised to see some stuff, but missed that stuff!!!!
I have an n-scale model of the 0-6-4 that ran from the mine to the city of Bingham. and also have a string of Utah copper hoppers, for my n-scale lay out. and housing in that area is called progress(lol) don't think much of it . look what they did to the brick yard.
Toy man and his wife are so cool love then guys .great videos wish they could do a video of the 2 new York trains up outside name Alaska .wish they would stop stripping parts off then and send them back to the company that built them and get them breathing again .

Hi. Hope you are well. Fun clomping down memory lane.
Another fantastic trip down Americas industrial history and progress as well. Very impressive how much dirt that mine has moved.
As a kid it seemed impossible they had dug down 1700 feet!! Amazing to see. Now it's twice as deep and just WERID. The mind can't take it in.
Brilliant video. You are just Top Class! Thanks so much. Love your channel!
Thanks!! Do share!! We have a followup on this next week. Went looking for the old railroad.
My Grandma lived in Bingham. She writes in her journal and called the train "Dinky Train" .
My uncle worked there at JC Pennies. He would really get into “Galeina Days”.
Great Video and timeline on was and is no more. It is amazing how historical towns and structures just disappear. Have a great week'
Check next weeks show!! Follow up on this!! WOW
Awesome video!! I really enjoy all these hidden and forgotten locations that you take us to! please keep it up!
Back there today too. BUT now back to TOYS!!
The follow up video was great!!! Copperton is such a beautiful little town!
Great video again...thanks for a look at the past in the present.
Thanks!!! Fun day too!
Another fun and informative video....your story telling is incredible....you guys are great...ty for sharing these videos.....
Thanks!! We do have a ball doing it!
It's good to see some of the history of your country, thanks for the trip down the memory lane...
Have you been to the Black Hills area north of Rapid City SD? 10-15 years ago North Western Lines magazine had an article on the narrow gauge railroads that once had a large footprint in several mining towns.
NO!! Always wanted to get up there too. On the list!
Really interesting video, but pretty sad in a way. High quality production as always with the music and excellent voice overs. You guys are great!
Fun day.. Following up next week. Out to the mine and Copperton!!
Hey your wife said she had family that lived, and worked in Lark. My great grandpa was a Foreman at the Lark mine. Lots of my family had worked for Kennecott. Thanks for the video.
Trenton Oakeson bet she did! That picture we show when we're talking about her family live in and work is there actual house!
dangell@xmission.com There is a Lark group on FB if your not a member already!
i read somewhere that this line was a stepchild of the up?
kae4466 this part was part of D and RG. But other end was UP. And ownership changed on the connection lines every few days I think.
Interesting Video. My Grandfather worked at that mine, and raised his family In Magna. I lived in Midvale and Tooele, I sure do miss the Area.
I'd always thought that putting 7 railway bridges in a row on a layout is totally unrealistic, but a real life model existed. Incredible.
Thank you- your videos are so interesting and entertaining! Happy Belated Birthday
Thanks. More fun coming too!!
*We left out the part with the horse and ToyMan becoming electrified.... Shocking!! ;D
I lit right up. Like neon. Or Light neon. With cat eyes. Poor horse!! He was shocked to see me.
Great video, love how you retraced the history of Bingham Canyon. Again great video.
More on the mine next week. For fun we drove out just to snoop. And rushed back with the camera!!
great videos thank you again for your adventures keep in mind half of the adventure is The Company You Keep hope you had a wonderful Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed Christmas
Is the man murdered still electrified?
All good. Just a quick reboot of my pacemaker.
Toy Man Television Good to hear! I was trying to say, "Is the Branch line at the mine still electrified",but my phone had other ideas.
Darn smart A$$ devices. Mine just dumped my comments. Anyway, poles and lights still there, not used.
Toy Man Television I have a bad week when it comes to technology too! I think a steam powered Difference Engine would be more reliable than most modern computers.
My computer are steam powered. I think. At least i put coal and water in them.
I bet you have seen the Georgetown Loop in Georgetown Colorado with the Shay Steam Engine. If not you might check it out some day.
Almost made it there last fall. Next year fore sure!! Have been a few times in the past, but want to go video!!
I will be watching for it when the time comes.
4:53 Holy Shit!
If you put that many bridges on a model railroad people would say NO WAY!!! Yet every canyon here.....
Some of Lark is still there, including some old houses, and the old hospital. the main gate into the mine is called Lark gate.
OK, heading back out!!!! We did head out to look for old grades, and what we found is next weeks show. Drove through Lark, surprised to see some stuff, but missed that stuff!!!!
It's on Kennecott land behind the gate. Only accessible to employees and contractors. I worked as a bus driver there a few years ago.
DANG!!!
I have an n-scale model of the 0-6-4 that ran from the mine to the city of Bingham. and also have a string of Utah copper hoppers, for my n-scale lay out. and housing in that area is called progress(lol) don't think much of it . look what they did to the brick yard.
looking at the overhead shot of The Roundhouse and turntable it looks like a badminton birdie LOL
Toy man and his wife are so cool love then guys .great videos wish they could do a video of the 2 new York trains up outside name Alaska .wish they would stop stripping parts off then and send them back to the company that built them and get them breathing again .
Nome. Alaska
Don't know of those. Planning a trip up that way at some point The Klondike for sure!!
7000 YES

0:55 reminds my of a song by Johnny cash: th-cam.com/video/aDSN1F72QU4/w-d-xo.html lol
That’s funny. Good words for our time too!!
What would happen if I said I didn't like it? Would you take my smartphone away? 🤗
Which it? The show? The round house? The railroad?
Welby lost Lol 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸😋
