I grew up on that lake and only ever caught Perch... although I did witness a girl catch a 5lb Largemouth on a Nightcrawler in some weeds near the causeway of Inlet Island.

Just when I think I have just about watched all your videos, I find another one. It gonna be a sad day when I run out of videos and have to actually wait for a new one to come out 😂😂

Bro no but when you said "for consumers in the store" I felt the same way until I started trolling and now it all makes sense LOL. Great stuff, man!

I used to live on Lake Tapps. Next time try fishing the small inlets around Tapps Island (Which is across from the county park) because it has clear water and lots of bait fish. A spinnerbait or crank bait works just fine, but nothing will work better than a fresh perch fillet. you can catch perch all around the lake on worms. Dont get discouraged if you dont get one right away, because they are, after all the fish of ten thousand casts. The best time to catch them is early morning or late night.

I like what I’m hearing.... So just troll the perch fillet like a cut plug, or what is the best way to fish it? Still working on that Muskie and appreciate the advice so much!

@@NWFishingSecrets Yes. Troll like a cut plug. Be sure to use wire or steel leaders because muskie will slice right through fishing line.

I live on Inlet Island. I bet there's muskie if you fish off the causeway here. Lots of vegetation in there on the right side coming onto the island. It probably says no parking but plenty of people park and fish there. Just lie and say you live on the island if anyone tried to hassle you.. most everyone here is laid back though. You can kayak there from Allan Yorke too. Im not sure if the public can launch at Allan York anymore though. You can park on the big bend coming onto the island and walk down a trail head. It is trespassing thats never been enforced. People fish there too. You can actual kayak to both these spots from Allan York if you know your way around and even go all the way up to the inlet. Theres a small lake if you go far enough up. I'd imagine great fishing but no nothing about fishing to be honest.

I was fishing one of the docks on tapps, using a pink swimbait and 8lb line. All of a sudden I get a hit like no other and I set the hook! It was a massive tiger musky (maybe not massive but to me it was!) The thing was so powerful it ran under the dock and just kept swimming, eventually snapped the line and lost an epic fish. Everyone was shocked lol

Duuuude! What an experience. I hear they always bite when you least expect it! Still on my bucket list!

Not sure about Tapps, but I know mayfield lake has some monsters.! Never caught one myself but I’ll be making a trip in late spring. I’ve seen them near shore in the shallow and around logs.

I fished Tapps for bass using 7" black power worms Carolina rigged and not much else back in the 90s. Caught a couple. It was a quality experience though. I thought there were people fast trolling the shoreline around the turn of the millennium with large chrome and colored Rapala style lures while targeting the Tiger Muskies. So now I'll stop typing and watch the rest of the video. At 2:20 that smallmouth is so pretty. Keep it up. I don't have any idea why the water is so clear - and I fished that spot south of Banker's Island - it is shallow and those weeds make me think of Tiger Muskie good and pretty. : )
