This is a huge issue with the game cause it’s one of the few ways to go forward in this game since everyone just runs with their winger/striker backward and they don’t touch their defenders to let the AI do the work.

This is what I force. I defend very narrow and if they do that. All my players crowd the middle and I don’t bother going over the defend. Their only passing options are a few players out wide to that side with them. So the only option if for them to pass back and reset or cross. And my CBs are no smaller than 6’3 and good jump and strength rating. This is career mode though I play. I use a the 3-1-4-2. I basically force them to cross or reset. 4th season as 1860 and only conceded a few goals from open play from a cross.

Worst game ever made, defensive AI is just too buffed, so this is one of the only ways to actually go forward and score. Says all about the game

No, this is how pressing works in FC 24. Without the overload ball side option, still the team heavily shifts towards one side.
