The overpriced medical Terrapin made me take another look at the Apollo. A much more capable ship for not much more money. So my 'big purchase' this IAE was do start with my Zeus ES, that I wasn't really that happy with... 1️⃣ warbond CCU to medical terrapin (applied this one) 2️⃣ warbond CCU to Starlancer Max 3️⃣ CCU to the Apollo Medevac Total of $20 store credit $35 new money. Including the Zeus' extra value from when I first purchased it during concept I saved about $70 on the Apollo. The Apollo loaner is the Cutlass Red (which is quite a monetary downgrade) so I'll probably just keep the Medical Terrapin and not apply the Apollo CCU until it comes out.
Honestly the best they can is stabilize the 4.0, then fix all the long lasting annoyances and quality of life bugs. If they made the game actually playable for more than the faint of heart, they would drown in money.
I think the following factors contributed to lower revenue this year than last year for CIG, especially considering the increase in number of players: 1) Only 1 interesting new ship released this year (Starlancer Max), all others were variants or lackluster. 2) The 2 Hornet variants were overshadowed by the F7A; Terrapin Med variant was long-awaited, but is still a niche ship. 3) Paladin is essentially a Valk gunship variant with a great price, but many players are wondering it if will suffer the same nerf treatment as the Redeemer and Corsair. 4) Intrepid feels like a "MEH" variant of a future interesting Intrepid (maybe a data-runner or bomber?). 5) The over-priced ATLS would have earned CIG and extra million or 2 if it was $10 cheaper because most buyers would have bought 2 instead of none (or one). 6) Most Zeus and Polaris owners got those in previous years and discounted by maybe 40-60%, so their release to flyable did not significantly contribute to this year's revenue. 7) Poor offerings of discount warbond upgrades (none under $100 since ILW 2022-Gladius, and Stella Fortuna 2022-Cyclone MT), which is discouraging to start new upgrade chains - this alone probably reduced CIG's annual revenue by between 15-20%.
Things changed today on this by a small amount with two barely there under 100 CCU's but I think the perseus upgrade is the best we've seen this IAE just won't be for everyone.
@@billionaireninjas yeah, I caught that after posting that comment, and bought a bunch of them, and if many others did too, then maybe CIG will see the boost in sales and offer more sub $100 WB CCUs in upcoming events.
I get LTI tokens but these aren't even LTI tokens, in a sale with multiple LTI tokens that save you just as much money as buying these "war bond" delas. 🤣 Literally nobody should buy that Gladius or ROC.
My big buy this IAE was the Orion, but from The Impound website so i can get the LTI for the same price + greycat industrial armor set. Instead of 702$ i paid 699$. It is still a lot of money but i'm happy that i can go the Industrial route now
The whales are going to whale. All the big ships selling out is not really a surprise. But if the hundreds (or thousands) of people that would have spent $100 to $200 aren't spending, the whales cannot make up for that.
All I cared about was the Pioneer, I really just want to craft and build a base. F5 wars lost but its ok. I think crafting will be the nail in the coffin to make the gameplay loop feel like a game worth grinding. Super excited for when the game is in a better and MORE complete state to give the ok to my buddies to try it out!! got like 5 friends I'm telling to wait to try so they dont sour their palet with the rough state we have rn
"Sir, IAE sales are down from last year, should we, perhaps, offer some juicy warbonds for some of the lower end ships?" Chris Roberts: "Nah, just toss another round of Javelins and Idris's out there, the whales will scoop them up like a fat kid at a candy store!."
I'm up to wait for the development of the game but I can bet we are getting to a point where we the backers have enough ships for different roles and what's coming for the next year is a fall on investment since there's no ships for new roles. Otherwise, if they start releasing capital ships missions for those capital ships this game will have 5-10 more years and more money. I have been helping/playing Phase 3(Idris-P) with all my friends in the Polaris and is great since we are starting to give roles in the ship and finding out what is the skills of each players to fit their skill for the perfect role.
Gratz on the KRAKEN. I will never be the Captain of such a ship but will happily crew one. I was very disappointed that there was no war bonds today. I think this is the worse IAE for war bonds I have seen. If they fall short raising money this month, they got nobody to blame but themselves. On the other hand. If they fall short this month, I expect they will pull a rabbit out of the hat to pull in funds when 4.0 releases!
This is the first year that CIG will get less money than the previous year. Yes the big ships are sold out, but the rest ain't selling because the warbond deals stink.
I would say CIG must be hurting for money and really cut back on the amount of warbond ccu's offered. I don't think that helped. Instead of people spending more on non-warbond things they just didn't spend money. And were more selective on their choices.
I agree that they are being more selective with CCU's but I don't believe they are hurting for money. They just didn't make as much money as last year. For instance apple make 8.9 billion one year and then the next year they mak 7.7 billion...nobody is saying apple is hurting for money because they made less than the previous year.
@billionaireninjas no but Apple is also sitting on a giant pile of cash. Let me do a quick Google search... they have 162 billion in liquid cash! So a fluctuation of a billion isn't really anything to concern them. 😉 I don't think CIG has a giant bank account somewhere of unused cash?
@billionaireninjas Apple is sitting on 162 billion. Roughly 20 years of income based on the numbers you're giving. 😱 I would assume CIG liquid cash isn't quite to that insane level. 😉
I mean sure...but even if we assume the smallest amount sold is 100 Javelins...thats still 300k from one ship on one day... The entire point is CIG aint broke lol
I was curious if I could get a hull limited ship, every day at around 10 I was able to see ever single limited ship. They at the very least were not selling out instantly. My estimate is it took about 10 minutes to sell out. I’ve bought makeup and concert tickets for my wife with ALOT more competition than an iae “refresh war”
The price hike for this year is brutal. Around 100 dollars across all ships. Idris 250+ dollars carrack 150+ dollars. Javelin 750+ dollars. Terrible sale all around.
I get it but they are definitely not spending 150m a year every year. Buying turbulent, building their own systems, fighting off lawsuits, mass hiring etc...I think we're on the lower end of epic spending now.
1650 - 3000$ thats for many people a monthly salaris or more... for just a digital asset which you wont own, just allowed to use as long Star citizen exists...
There were gold tickets available in November, you're trying to buy a $300 shop after playing less than a month? My friend you were saved an awful decision.
@MisterFoxton they where available in November?! Damnit how did I not hear about this... Generally I follow SC news (mostly). I have been playing since February this year.
ROC and Gladius for $5 off war bond... I mean the choices make sense they are popular ships but why? What even is the point? ...If you want these ships bought with 100% new cash and no LTI vs just buying a CSV to get your $5 dollars off then using CCUs to get LTI and potentially mixing some store credits in.
I calculated the money they made after the first hour of the original Wave 1 for the Pioneer, and divided that by the price of the Pioneer. Came up with 1,017 Pioneers - let’s call the last 17 margin of error (paints and other ships sold in that hour as well), so 1,000 per wave. At least for the Pioneer.
It promised daily warbond "deals". When the warbond is worse value than buying an LTI ship and CCUing up a non-WB CCU to the ROC or Gladius, that's not a deal.
The point you are missing is CIG got desperate and sold another round of ships because sales have dropped and new players joining has plummeted this year and unless they get their sh!t together next year will be even worse.
What I'm saying is they aren't desperate...they're just running a business. We can talk about whether they are worried about profits being lower.... But it's all profits by a wide margin.
I got myself a kraken for my org. And I'm happy as hell.
Big grats!
Definitely. This is my last ship purchase , until the next one.
I wish they would have had some sub-100 WB CCUs.
Same
I got a pioneer with credits today. Pioneer wb was still available for a few hours after that
The overpriced medical Terrapin made me take another look at the Apollo. A much more capable ship for not much more money. So my 'big purchase' this IAE was do start with my Zeus ES, that I wasn't really that happy with...
1️⃣ warbond CCU to medical terrapin (applied this one)
2️⃣ warbond CCU to Starlancer Max
3️⃣ CCU to the Apollo Medevac
Total of $20 store credit $35 new money. Including the Zeus' extra value from when I first purchased it during concept I saved about $70 on the Apollo.

Smart move. I would have thought they would change the loaner to the medical terrapin.
Thank you! Blackpilling on IAE sales is both moot and food for the vultures. See you in the verse and your next video!
Disappointing day for us non space whales ;)
Agreed, I was hoping we would have something worth looking at other than the Gladius.
Yeah, it was a bit underwhelming
i mean the guardian will be around $200 prob when 4.0 comes, decent ship, looks like a better vanguard.
Yeah I got completely cock blocked at 250 not another ccu until 400
I would just be happy if the Arrastra came out.
I still just can't believe we didn't get any new CCU's today. I really hope they see the error and get us some tomorrow.
Finaly got my Connie Pheonix :) I was happy when I saw it still available.
Here's a thought. What if they have some private investors that are looking at them. And this is CIG just flexing for them.
IAE has been very lackluster to me.
Honestly the best they can is stabilize the 4.0, then fix all the long lasting annoyances and quality of life bugs. If they made the game actually playable for more than the faint of heart, they would drown in money.
upset at no warbonds... happy at saving money lol

Pathetic sale day. No warbond ccu, but individual ship sales on the sub $100 warbond ccu’s people have been agitating for.

Seemed pretty light today.
I'm more of a low-budget spender so I'm hoping CIG blesses us with some more low end warbonds
I'm really disapointed this year with the warbond ccus 😢
CIG doesn't want your $5 warbonds, they're down on funding an want LARGE new money purchases on ships to bump their numbers lol
seems like they figured out warbonds makes them less money so they gonna keep them minimal now
Invictus was pretty good, picked up a Perseus for like $400
I'm prob gonna keep that ship forever.
Gladius ad ROC had warbonds, but not a CCU warbond, only for direct buys
The whales are going to whale. All the big ships selling out is not really a surprise. But if the hundreds (or thousands) of people that would have spent $100 to $200 aren't spending, the whales cannot make up for that.
Nothing new picked up but I did scope the skins I'm hoping to get.

I think so
I was hoping for more CCU’s at the lower end 😢

A bit of a bummer for CCU chaining today.
Oh. Have you checked the packs?
How many of those limited ships were picked up by resellers I wonder.
Yeah probably a bunch but either way CIG gets Paid
More CCUs would have been nicer. Yesterday was fantastic. Well, hopefully tomorrow is something.
I almost bought a pioneer. But I held off. If they hadn’t increased the price and reduced the package I might have done it
This is the first year that CIG will get less money than the previous year. Yes the big ships are sold out, but the rest ain't selling because the warbond deals stink.
Yes. This is true. I just hope people don't think this is like the beginning of the end for CIG like business is down in the dumps.

As long as we don't know the numbers of sold ships, the term sold out, doesn't mean anything. Could be a great sale, could be marketing.
I mean sure...but even if we assume the smallest amount sold is 100 Javelins...thats still 300k from one ship on one day... The entire point is CIG aint broke lol

Not sure where you were buying everything i tried to buy was gone in seconds
I thought the limited run ships were like 100 per run. But still… that’s six runs… 3000x600 is a ton of money! They broke 100mil today
None of the limited ships were available it seemed. Either immediately sold out or no stock
The price hike for this year is brutal. Around 100 dollars across all ships. Idris 250+ dollars carrack 150+ dollars. Javelin 750+ dollars. Terrible sale all around.
Kraken + 700 dollar
Did anyone mention that you’re a beast for all of this content?
Wish we knew how many they have for wb and how many for credit each round

Paladin or TAC? Decisions, decisions 😢

I dont understand why they didnt do any Warbonds this time :/
Are the roc and gladius even ccus? I couldn't use them as such. Where are the sub 100 ccus cig?

the grey market is buying these up!!!! it sucks that they are doing this but if it wasnt for grey market we would have several ships not selling out!

so how many people have these HUGE ships!, they selling 10's or 100's or 1000's of them each wave? any info on that?

It's deeper than that. They also have to balance the game but at the same time... There are other ways they could do it.
