If you're losing 1-2 minutes overnight then it's running outside of Seikos specs in terms of the time variance (+25 to -15 per day I believe). I own 2 Seikos with the 6r15 and they're about +7 per day, even setting in down at night. If it's still in warranty perhaps have Seiko take a look, it definitely shouldn't be losing that much time.
When I got my new SARB035, it ran at about +4 s/d. Gradually, it kept losing more time per day until after about 27 months of ownership it was just losing too much time to wear. Had it serviced by a local watchmaker, after which it ran at about -48 s/d. Somehow or another, it is now spontaneously losing about 30 to 35 s/d. Go figure! The 6R15 movement is notoriously problematic; even Spencer Klein said so. I’ll never sell it, though. I’ve worn it every day for about four and a half years.
Change the strap. I put mine on a colareb ( cream ) strap. It impresses the ladies(?!)... Mine is coming in at - 174 on an app so ...I want to get it regulated , but it's finding a bonafide person to do it. I've actually thought of selling it as it's too delicate for my work. I got mine straight from Japan so that's the chance one takes. Hope you get the time fixed & enjoy it more.
Sounds like you need to get your watch demagnetized buddy. Sorry I just read one of your comments saying that you bought it used. The previous owner might have tried to regulate it and messed it up.
Magnetization generally causes movements to gain, not lose time. The hairspring contracts, and as a result the balance wheel oscillates quicker. The problem is with the escapement. Seiko dropped the ball on quality control. Sad but true.
I bought a sarb033 from eBay and after only having it a short time I had to do the same thing. I bought a demagnetizer and had it fixed in no time. I had never done so before but after watching some TH-cam videos on how to do so, I figured it out. Hope this helps!!

Good to know thanks! I bought this piece used so I don’t think it’s in warranty anymore but I might try and regulate it for fun!
Would have to agree with you on the pros and cons. I’m ‘only’ losing about 20secs a day. But yes the dimensions and fit on wrist is amazing.
Hey 20 seconds beats 1-2 minutes! 😂
You should take it to a watchmaker. I had mine regulated for $40 bucks now it gains about 4 seconds a day.
@@timeportal1189 what's the lowest price you can get this watch for 😎
@@kingadjust5422 buy it used on eBay? Maybe around $300...
personally I prefer this watch on a leather strap.. the cream dial goes so well with that.

Yeah I’m not impressed with the 6R15 movement. But I don’t think I’ll ever sell my sarb because I like everything else about it!
@@timeportal1189,
Exactly. And the dial is particularly wonderful.

Sounds like a good combo. The sarb is a strap monster!
a watchmaker should regulate this for 15-20 $ ( we have a small watchmaker shop around the corner ,he is doing regulation for 5 $ , while his break )

That’s something I did not consider. Thank you, I will look more into this!

The biggest complaint you didn't cover, the clasp is shit the gap is horrendous.
